@raidenus Yes, I 100% recommend to use a resistor (any resistor between 100 ohm and 10K ohm will work). On the video I attached the resistor to 3.3Volt line on my xtractor (thru a red wire shown there) instead of solder to the board, that way I have a faster exchange of boards. I usually unlock a lot of boards and was a waste of time solder the resistor on each.
nice. It's funny how everyone really does have a swiss army knife. BUt not everyone has a OKI soldering station. But, hey you're maximusgames. I like that OKI desoldering station.
@maximusgames I didnt mean it in a disrespectful way. I literally was asking a genuine question. I've bought the 360 Lizard and I was thinking of purchasing the template but I just wanted to know if there was a way to unlock the drive without damaging parts of the chip which so the drive could still eject and read discs. Thanks for reply, products and continued excellent support :)
@cmajor91 Drilling exactly over the bondwire should take you only 3-8 seconds of without applying pressure. If your drilling takes more then its more likely you are drilling at a side of it. I would not do a video of the drive being assembled and tested on a console just to get somebody ask "how we know is the same board?", "how we know the test is made after or before the unlock?", etc, etc, we are maximusgames, we dont need to lie.
there is no need to use a resistor? cant see it

How do we know the drive is still working? i.e. still ejecting and reading discs.
