I looked these dogs up and found out they were a lie, the original breeder was cross breeding dogs and wolves, when she was reported, she had the most wolf-like dogs shot before the authorities arrived. The real indian dog is called "The American Indian Dog" so be leery about breeders who had "Native" to the front of that name.
@sketchly60 What breeder are you getting them from? They may be okay, but make sure to ask the pedigree of the parents, ask to interact with both the parents and the pups, and then lastly, when you get your pup, have it DNA tested. It may have some wolf blood in it.
@sketchly60 meh, what eva, just be careful with small kids, I found that on wikipedia that a NAID had pulled a baby out of its crib and carried it several yards before dropping it and leaving.
my family has had two of these dogs... both of them hardly shed, were very powerful, protective dogs.. also were hypoallergenic that is correct. The first one we had was an amazing dog, unfortunately got bone cancer at only 4 years old... the next one was another case and he was very aggresive and we were worried about him biting someone so we had to give back to breeder... :\ by far my favorite dogs ever we had a River and a Timber from majestic view in michigan.
You have one?!? Lucky...I want one too! They look so much like wolves and I can't have one cause they're wild animals...and huskies are a good choice but this breed looks more wolf^^
Me and my friend are trying to buy this breed and we will get native american indian dogs and no one will get in our way of buying such a beautiful wolf looking dog. And yes they r rare but me and my best friend found a breeder 2 hours away from us and we live in the u.s. Good luck ShortieKJW
yeah but in the UK you have northern inuit dogs, which are just as beautiful, i live in wisconsin, and thankfully a breeder of NMID is only 4 hours away. so ill be getting one in the near future :)

Remember to make sure you have the time and will to train it, the space for it to roam in, a big budget for food, and endurance to walk it daily.
