What transmission are you using? Sounds like first is a complete right off, seconds not too far behind that and I think you hooked up third lol very nice. My bro thinks miatas are girls cars, I beg to differ. Sweet ride :) and to qoute bad fish... "sounds too fast for safety, but also unbelievably fun" so true!
He says that he's using stock tires, which have a massive 195 width!!!! The fact that he has as much grip as he does with an LS1 swap is mind boggling.
That is why I love this swap for Miatas. They are light enough that they don't resist acceleration very much and you can put down retarded amounts of power with much more reasonably sized tires (Cheaper on the wallet for sure!).
My Kazera KZ-M's are 15x7's and I can get Sumitomo HTR-Z's in 205/50/R15 for $53/tire!! I love Miatas! :)
im doing a swap soon. I'll actually break even selling all my old parts. The kit is 3,500 but the engine and trans has to be sourced. Over all it is really a great idea.
I think so too. It's a good thing it is cheaper and probably better, but keep in mind that if you were to have monster miata places to do it for you, then, the price is LIKE 20 to 30 grand. I have not done research on that because I may be called a dreamer if I call and ask, but I kind of overheard that.
These a great swaps, but you REALLY need to stuff wider tires under there to run good 1/4 times. Still, if you get enough tire under there, these things will run 11's on stock LS1's.
needs a wide body kit so that you can fit wider tires. i've got 195's on my little civic and i thought that they didn't have enough traction for my whimpy little engine. can't imagine what this is like

this video probably has the best sounding engine noises I've ever heard, mostly because it's coming from a miata
