Loved the Sony Entertainment system - drove through Manhatten using the sat nav and listened to the BBC on the satellite radio. Would need a diesel to sell in Europe though.

What is it? A family hauler? A camper van? A hearse? Got a funeral and road bike race on the same day. No problem. With the Ford Flex your covered. Offer the flex to drive the dead body around and save your friend or relative money. Wow there's still room for the bikes!!!! With the Ford flex you don't have to miss a thing in life. Had the opportunity to drive this vehicle and it was really a great drive. The
Sync communication systems caught me off guard, lol. It synced without my having to do anything. I like small cars but this one was a breeze to drive as it was very quiet and very smooth.

How the hell can anyone not like the flex??? I've been in one and it was the most comfortable and quiet car I've ever been in. It's like a library inside. The styling is different and sometimes people don't like different. I'd take this over the others. And I've seen a lot of flex's on the road now
With the new look Edge and Explorer, I don't see Ford keeping the Flex around much longer. The Flex maybe the one that suffers in terms of Ford and its Trucks, Crossovers, and SUV's.

The Chevy Traverse looks like a fattened pig and the Pilot's styling is too confused. The Flex on the other hand, has striking angular styling. As a suburban car, i wouldnt mind, as a city car, meh, as a road trip car, fsho! Buuut, as a persona limousine... Hawt Dayum. If you wanna get the idea behind my thinking, look up Motor Trend's Ford Flex. ;)

The first one I saw was in a parking lot about a year ago and I thought "what a cool looking car." I like the look and they seem very practical, especially for families with kids. I've seen a lot of them on the road and I give Ford credit for an innovative and attractive design. I hope they sell a lot of them.

@cmh316 I am speaking from experience.. Ive owned 2 fords, first a mustang 2008 then a 2009 Flex. Both were JOKES. I bought the mustang NEW and in 9 months it had rust at the door jams and at the edge of the trunk. Then I traded to a Flex and it was a nightmare. over 2,200 out of my pocket for items not covered under their "warranty". Yet when I purchased my Traverse recently I havent had any issues what-so-ever. Also the build quality is far superior to fords. Cant fill voids with FOAM. LOL!!!

Ok don't get me wrong this is a really nice car and smooth ride... ok my mom was in a car crash about 2 weeks ago and we got the ford flex for our rental car.. here it is 8 days of having it my mom is on her way home from bingo driving down a road and a car pops right out in front of her and the hole front end is smash.. NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED and she now has a really bad chest problem and shoulder problem.. she was going about 40mph.. but when i was in the car one day the light flashed ((1 sec))
This car performes like a Minivan accept its not a Minivan its a classy style Station Wagon, this is a great car for people that doesn't want a Minivan Nor a Gas Hug Full Size SUV, and its easier to get in and out than in the Chevy Suburban. and it cost less than the Mercedies Benze R Class.
When I was in this car, the second row was spacious and the cloth seats felt durable. Also wind noise was very low and road noise was low but I felt bumps more then I would like to.
@quatlen if you add the AWD, its great to drive in snow if you live in places like Salt Lake City, Denver, and Reno because they may not shoveled the snow off the road yeat but its too low to do seriouz offroad, but if your planning to tow more than 4000 lbs, or go offroad allot then your better off with the Explorer or the Expedition.
its a crossover car no off roader if you wouldnt do it with a tarus of a fusion you cant with the flex i cant get throught much snow with my FWD flex go for the AWD its worth it even in the summer off the line traction isnt to great i still love it just have an AWD car on hand are recient 20.1 inches in maryland wasent fun with my flex but are explorer carved right through it

I like the retro styling and features, but would wait for the 2010 EcoBoost V6 which will have much more HP and torque without a reduction in fuel economy compared to the current engine. I only wish that Ford would offer the EcoBoost without AWD.
The epa estimates are way less than what the real mpg's are if you watch how you drive. Check out the mpgomatic review, just search this 2009 Ford Flex Review and look for one by them, They get 28.1 mpg highway and 23-24 mpg city. And the flex is pretty fast to, the 3.5l has great gears. Check out the video.
Don't even know what I said that you replied to (probably is at least months if not years old) but just because you think the Odyssey looks better doesn't mean everyone thinks so. I certainly don't, and you'll notice a LOT of people hate the new Odyssey's styling. Either way you seem to factor style way too much into a family vehicle.

1. Depending upon your height, a telescoping steering wheel can really make it much more comfortable. It has nothing to do with having your eyes on the road.

Toyota is the 1 who is slipping, the Scion and Yaris were complete junk. The new Focus and Fusion did very good in long term reliability. Ford is under new management that will get the CO. back to Henry Ford's vision of reliability and affordability.
How do know that Ford won't have a better resale value than Honda in the future? You don't know what the future will bring. Nobody thought the Camry would ever leave the the #1 spot in reliability. But it has. Ford is in a good spot future wise to catch the imports. A Much better spot than GM and Chrysler. The Fusion hybrid is more advanced than Honda and Toyota's Hybrids. That's a good start.

Ok don't get me wrong this is a really nice car and smooth ride... ok my mom was in a car crash about 2 weeks ago and we got the ford flex for our rental car.. here it is 8 days of having it my mom is on her way home from bingo driving down a road and a car pops right out in front of her and the hole front end is smash.. NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED and she now has a really bad chest problem and shoulder problem.. she was going about 40mph.. but when i was in the car one day the light flashed ((1 sec))

This car performes like a Minivan accept its not a Minivan its a classy style Station Wagon, this is a great car for people that doesn't want a Minivan Nor a Gas Hug Full Size SUV, and its easier to get in and out than in the Chevy Suburban. and it cost less than the Mercedies Benze R Class.

When I was in this car, the second row was spacious and the cloth seats felt durable. Also wind noise was very low and road noise was low but I felt bumps more then I would like to.

@quatlen if you add the AWD, its great to drive in snow if you live in places like Salt Lake City, Denver, and Reno because they may not shoveled the snow off the road yeat but its too low to do seriouz offroad, but if your planning to tow more than 4000 lbs, or go offroad allot then your better off with the Explorer or the Expedition.

its a crossover car no off roader if you wouldnt do it with a tarus of a fusion you cant with the flex i cant get throught much snow with my FWD flex go for the AWD its worth it even in the summer off the line traction isnt to great i still love it just have an AWD car on hand are recient 20.1 inches in maryland wasent fun with my flex but are explorer carved right through it

I like the retro styling and features, but would wait for the 2010 EcoBoost V6 which will have much more HP and torque without a reduction in fuel economy compared to the current engine. I only wish that Ford would offer the EcoBoost without AWD.

The epa estimates are way less than what the real mpg's are if you watch how you drive. Check out the mpgomatic review, just search this 2009 Ford Flex Review and look for one by them, They get 28.1 mpg highway and 23-24 mpg city. And the flex is pretty fast to, the 3.5l has great gears. Check out the video.

This is an enticing vehicle, especially compared to minivans.
My wife has an Odyssey and we love it, but with the 2010 Flex offering the 355 hp EcoBoost, we may be making a brand switch.

I certainly don't, and you'll notice a LOT of people hate the new Odyssey's styling. Either way you seem to factor style way too much into a family vehicle.

Yea that is totally your opinion and i think that looks very nice, its not even similar to the scion, this has 3 rows of seats and the interior is 10x better and this can actually tow stuff with its 262hp rather than the scion's i4.

1. Depending upon your height, a telescoping steering wheel can really make it much more comfortable. It has nothing to do with having your eyes on the road.
2. Ford was not the first car company. They were the first to use a mass production style of building vehicles.

flykyte143...Ford has been improving since 1997. The new Ford Fusion did just as good as Honda and Toyota. Also you can't say a whole car co. is bad because of a few bad models. Toyota is the 1 who is slipping, the Scion and Yaris were complete junk. The new Focus and Fusion did very good in long term reliability. Ford is under new management that will get the CO. back to Henry Ford's vision of reliability and affordability.

How do know that Ford won't have a better resale value than Honda in the future? You don't know what the future will bring. Nobody thought the Camry would ever leave the the #1 spot in reliability. But it has. Ford is in a good spot future wise to catch the imports. A Much better spot than GM and Chrysler. The Fusion hybrid is more advanced than Honda and Toyota's Hybrids. That's a good start.

I don't know for certain, but history is the best judge, plus the companies themselves...Honda still offers good lease rates, while the US cars finance arms have stopped all leasing, due to the low predicted resale values. Your comment about the Scion is not accurate. I own a tC, and an xB, and they both were value priced, and have held up well. Their resale value is still good too, because they get good mileage. Ford IS in the best place to catch imports, as long as they remember they r behind

Who cares where they are "based"? They are all multi-national corporations ( MNCs ), and the headquarter is simply the place where the CEO lives. If Toyota buys up say Saturn, would you say Saturn cars are Japanese? Columbia Pictures is a subsidiary of Sony, which is headquartered in Tokyo and you might as well say Columbia Pictures is Japanese?
