Cherry Red is much older than Little Richard. The first version I heard of it dates from the 40ies or even 30ies.

@MrBlueroads It was written by Big Joe Turner and pianist Pete Johnson, probably in Kansas City in the '30s, though Cleanhead adds some lyrics of his own!
