I really don't like the majority of Western metalcore bands but the Japanese seem to have many great bands out there like Each of the Days, sounds awesome to me. Of course traditional metal is good too but to me it tends to sound a bit "outdated", even though it is still good. I don't understand what the hate towards good metalcore is all about...

@TraceofHatred old school Linkin park is Nu metal, but the 2 newest albums are alt. rock BMTH is deathcore, which is a fusion of metalcore and death metal. Metalcore is a mix between heavy metal and hardcore music. AS I lay dying is once again Metalcore which is a cross between hardcore and heavy metal. Celldweller is industrial and depending on the song it is rock or metal. Breaking benjamin is alternative metal. You could also say they are post-grunge, which isn't metal.
