@HotHeadCJ I would argue that the ural is even better offroad than the deuce, although the deuce is a very good offroad, many people value them for their collectabilty vs their offroad abilities. The ural is a true ofroad machine a few times i had the chance to use a super single deuce, but after a ride in a ural the deuce feels lacking. But that's just me, there were probably to many variables to compare the vehicles. The ural will run on some other fuels but not gasoline like a multifuel deuce

@HotHeadCJ they have a v8 and v6 engine for the ural, i don't know why they don't use straight 6 like north american trucks but i would assume it's because of the larger displacment (the v8 is like 15 litres and the v6 is roughly 11 litres) that the straight six would not fit as well .

Yeah Russian equipment looks alot more robust. Alot of people look apon the Russians being not that intelligent but I feel that alot of their technology is kept more Hush Hush as with the Yanks they have to go and shout it out all the time. I tell you one thing is true for defiantate and that is the engines on the NASA space shuttle are Russian because they are much more robust. It looks that alot more stufff is hand made rather than relying on robots all the time. Wish England was like that.

Russian trucks are amazing- obviously some of the best in the world. Alot of extreme terrain out there, guess you need a truck on steroids. I wouldn't walk to walk some of those places the truck is driving- some kind of ice-caked, reverse-crown, light-load nightmare.

Ural is doing really good right now. I read on a truck website that in 2007 the factory started producing a new model called the Ural-6563. Which is an 8x8 Dump Truck with a 420 hp Yamz-7511 engine. A year later the truck won the title "Best Russian truck of the year-2008"

I lean more towards URAL simply because I've heard they have ideal weight distribution on all axles (equal weight on each axle), which to me seems as a very important factor to consider. Of course, I don't know if KAMAZ or KRAZ could boast the same, but since I know this about URAL for sure, I'd go with URAL.

I belive after your test drive finishes, you will see the Ural trucks with my point of view. I have heard that Kamaz and Ural factories have really moved up in economy since the end of the 90s. Now their is tough competition between them especially on the domestic market. They introduce up to 5 new models yearly. But does anyone know how ZIL is doing. Because the last time i have seen a new zil was in 1995 which was the ZIL-4334. lol, the "Ukrainian" kraz was based on the Russian Yaz-214, which because Kraz-214, then 255, 260 and now 6322 - all with Russian engines and barely any changes (just cab design)...Ural produces trucks with higher load capacity, more ground clearence and better off-road capability. Kraz is bigger in size, thats all.

Yes the Ural is conv' sized class 8 / A truck / Lorry.

The kraz is oversized 2.75m ( 108" ) wide based on a Mack design. Ural has all steel cab, Kraz has wood framed / steel clad cab.
