I heard this on the radio recently and it got me down the highway. I knew it was Paul Simon but I had to research it to find the LP from 1991 Rhythm of The Saints... He was still in his Africa mode. Really good!
@lateo100 Hee Hee, I think I appreciate this album and Paul Simon, enough for all Australia! Funny to, I'd say only Paul Simon possesses the gift for words needed to express just how Uniquely Blessed his Gift Is!
I lived in Boulder, Colorado and was in my first year at the University of Colorado and listened to this album often at night. It's been a long time since I've listened to it, but it sounds just as good now as it did then.
sooo beautiful :) one of my favourite songs of his. paul simon is a legend one of my favourite artists. no matter how many people i hear sing, i always come back to him at some point. like moonboots69 said its perfection. total perfection.
In the spring of '91 I lived on the French - German border and every Friday I would get out of work with just minutes to spare before hopping on a train to Paris to visit my friends. Still in suit and tie, I would bolt to the train station and board the train breathless.
This was my album of that time and this song kept perfect time with the train ride of the warm evening...the sun setting and the brilliance of my youth and European future. Such great days.
@arkady714 ok, so i'm reading your comment a year later, but what an interesting one at that. wherever u may have been going in your suit & tie ~ let's hope it involved writing of some sort. wonderfully said...
@annalaren I was headed to Paris from Luxembourg. It's a long story. But do know that your reply to my post was very encouraging because it does involve writing. Something I've only recently started. Take care.
I just can't believe how great this is. I have ROTS on vinyl and after a few glasses of wine, there's not a single record or cd in my collection that is more soothing and pleasureable than this record. GENIUS.
How did this guy become so BAD at lyrics? He's not very good without Garfunkel.

Too bad this album gets overlooked because of Graceland.

I listened to this album when driving to Montana and to our new hiking destinations!
Also, before going to bed after smoking a little Herb. Innocently, of course.
