  • Myth: Eating 5-6 times per day doesn't speed up your metabolism anymore than eating 3 big meals. It's about total calorie count. If you split 2000 calories into 5-6 meals, you're still digesting 2000 calories. Whether it's 2000 split into 5-6 meals or 2-3, your metabolism STILL has to do the same amount of work because it's the same amount of calories. Everything else is fine. Cayenne pepper and green tea work too (I've personally tried those).

  • @thedifferentelement --actually it has nothing2do w/the calories of 5-6 portioned meals vs 3 big meals...if u look at it this way 5-6 meals is the same amount of calories yes but there is a huge diff. the 5-6 meals a day helps keep ur levels maintained leaving more constant energy4u n allowing ur bodies levels not to shock by dropping the levels down, metabolism takes a bit, the more ofter of smaller meals the better along w/muscle because the more muscle you have the more calories u will burn

Eh, don't think it quite works like that. The idea behind 5-6 meals theory was that your body, if fed a constant supply of food (like 5-6 small meals or eating something every 3 hours), would keep your metabolism burning at a high rate and thus burning more fat.   • @jessiejaymes87 That theory makes sense, BUT, eating 3 large meals of the same total calorie amount for that day as the 5-6 meal person would end up burning the same amount of fat. Here's why: The 3 large meals still add up to the same amount of calories at the end of the day. And whether you're consuming some of those calories every 5 minutes or every 6 hours, you still are consuming them and still are burning fat. Timing makes no difference so 5-6 is just as good as 3. See my point?

  • @thedifferentelement -----look it up, thats the way it is....if you look at a graph, it spikes up to the normal level when you eat then drops back down until you eat again if you eat 3 large meals a day you will have 3 large highs and 3 deep lows where if you space out 5-6 meals you will eat more often making it more level
