yea the ZF5 and NV4500 are good trannies.

The ZF5 is a Ford made transmission, only the engine is International.

Doubt it, as GM uses the ZF6 behind their duramaxes.

You sure bout that? I know the ZF6 came in Fords in 2001 or somewhere around those years.

Yes 01-06 Duramaxes, it was an option .the ZF6

Its made in germany.

Just go to a search like google and type in ZF transmissions. They even have their own website. Made in germany where the G56 and other later model manual trans are. Because thats all they use over there in the motha land. :)

bacause the ford is ballin like that, the ZF5 has ford internels, and I knwo dodge uses the same 5 speed also, which means ford proborly designed it.

ZF and ford had some kinda of contract and obviously never said anything about ford not being allowed to put their name on it, my dad has a 73 ford pinto with a 2.0 and the engine says ford on it but its actually not made by ford. lol

On my '92 6-cylinder F-150 w/5-speed it really needs to start off in 1st gear from a dead stop, I guess this is the Mazda transmission? The buses will all start off in 2nd gear but they have the "granny" 1st gear and/or a 2-speed rear end.

@retrochad you probably have a 3.08 final gear & yea u have a Mazda 5spd, I have a '95 F-150 withe the 300 & a Mazda 5spd & those trannys aren't the greatest...

Putting the M5OD behind the 300 was dumb...its just too much torque. My friend has a 89 F150 with the 300I6 and 4spd non overdrive. nice setup.

My dad's 88 F150 with a 302 v8 had the mazda 5spd and it had 150k original on it.

Yeah the all cast iron T18 4 speed was so much better than the Mazda crap they started putting in the 1/2 ton Fords in 87.

This is the ZF5, big heavy duty one.

The mazda 5 speed is a light duty high geared trans, the 1st gear doesn't even compare to the 1st gear in the trans in this video. the one in video the 1st gear is so much lower,

of course the ford has to be allowd to smoke thats all it ever does. lol . i cant talk i got a pyrometer for my truck today and cranked the fuel up and the boost. ol 6.2 really fliesnow! smokes a fair amount too.

on my 1995 f150 inline six with five speed it has 3.10 gears so i cant take of in 2nd, do you know how much it would cost to convert to 3.73 or 4.10 gears

You should have 3.08 gears. And the M5OD (Mazda transmission) and is not recomended to start off in 2nd no matter the gearing. That Mazda trans is a light duty trans. I have the ZF5 heavy duty trans.

Gearing swap I don't know how much would it cost, i've never done it. I don't even know where you would get your gears from other than a scrap yard.

I have just done a 3.50 swap to a 3.89 in my 72 ford. Gears alone cost close to $200.00 for my nine inch ford. It might be a little cheaper or more expensive depending on which brand of gears you get. I assume your 95 ford has a ford 8 inch rear end?
