Hey there Tom! Thanks so much--and I've enjoyed yours as well! Robert was actually at the Chicago Pipe show (which I see you attended as well!) and I ended up buying three more of his pipes there--he's a pretty interesting guy and we had a great time hanging out in the tent on Saturday night. Btw, if you saw a huge table full of guys playing cards in the tent that night, that was me, along with our usual 'gang of suspects' LOL
Alas, I had to miss this year's show - last year was good fun, though! I'll try to make it next year. I hadn't heard any reports from the show this year - could be a good vid topic.
Is that Pat Metheny playing in the background? In Jersey you have to listen to that under a blanket in a sound proof room, or risk being bludgeoned by Governor Corzine's Jazz Tax. If you ever make your way down here (and i don't know why you would want to) listen to jersey's only Jazz station, good stuff in a bad place (= Nice pipe too.
Yikes! 'Jazz Tax' sounds pretty oppressive to me! This was indeed Pat Metheny again, with a piece called 'Spring Ain't Here' as a nod to the seemingly-extended length of the 2008 winter ;-)
Hello there Carl! I have yet to try the Yenidji Supreme (though I do have some plain Yenidji blending tobacco in the cellar which was given to me a while back I'm not sure what to do with, LOL)
It just so happens I plan to visit the shop next month and I believe his daughter uses the recipes her father used, so I'd be glad to find out and give you an idea of the general contents.
That is so sweet, Ron! It's always great to hear from you and Dennis :-) I've been trying my best to keep these updates coming, even with a heavy study schedule. Do keep in touch, and I look forward to sharing more in the near future!
well that is a good song for background music, you should have stated that then people would understand the connection, i like that connection. You do have a big pipe i might add!!
Do tell more about this Craig person and where i may find him! LOL!
The music score is not quite where we should be when making these films butt thank you gods for you not holding your head up in this film with your hand again unlike the others where it appears that the pipe your smoking is so heavy you cannot help but need the palm of your hand to hold your jaw up.
Now do tell, who is the Craig person you speak of being the imposing figure at these shows your attending smoking these Ardor pipes?
Alright...ya caught me there ;-) In this case, the title of the piece is very subtly appropriate and is called 'Spring Ain't Here' by the Pat Metheny Group.
And you're quite right--no more head in the hand--I actually thought I appeared relaxed, but I suppose it may also look as though my pipe is too heavy!
As for this Craig person, I'm not one to tell tales, but he sure is a furry bear--WOOF! :-)
Very enjoyable video! I also have a LaughingMoon pipe (a military bit billiard) but I never knew anything about the carver. Thanks for that!
