Something like: to testify that there is only one God and that Muhammed (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is the final Prophet...

NOT ONE VERSE in Quran says a lady must wear a hijab. It's the LADY's CHOICE to dress how SHE DESIRES while being MODEST. A lady should COVER HER CHEST and LOWER HER GARMENT 24:30-31, 33:59. God uses flexible language to allow variables such as culture, climate, social dynamics, and activity to play a role in THEIR decision. The garment's length is the LADY's CHOICE based on the situation with RIGHTEOUS INTENTIONS.
Only a misogynistic person would force a lady to dress a certain way.
While I do think that the Quran advocates the wearing of Hijab, and that muslim women who do so willingly out of modesty are shining embodiments of virtue, 2:256 says clearly "Let there be no compulsion in religion" and forcing women to wear Hijab is hardly in keeping with that.
Besides, how is it modesty if it's not done willingly?
@peterJDeer, No one forced me to wearh Hijab I did it willingly Alhamdulilah. Unfortuneatly some individuals do give the impression that they are forcing you and that they do cast you out and judge you if you don't but that is not really islamic of their part if they are doing that. Anyhow PeterJDeer Judge Islam by its teachings not muslims. we are humans and we not perfect so judge Islam by its teachings its like nothing you have ever learned. Its beautiful and pure :D

i have noticed that some ppl go out of their way to b super nice to me so that i dont think that they are prejudice. but of course most ppl are extremely rude. it is so funny when ppl tell me to go back to my country and i tell them i am from connecticut. they dont know wat to say lol.

You need to do your research on what Islam says, 'Angelsofdemons'. And insulting someone because they dress different to what you declare to be the 'norm' tells us alot about you as a person. Please have a little bit of respect.

I get things like; "Do you shower with that on?" and " Does your husband hit you if you dont wear it, poor girl, you are only 13" oh and I get a lot of double takes. Even when I sit on the porch of my house and someone drives by and they slow down and stare. Oh well.

At work a man accused me of not hearing him properly because of my hijab...a youth threw an egg at my head at the bus stop and another time a man pulled my hijab off in the street. My manager threatened to sack me if I didn't take it off at work (I left that job in the end) I think some people are so ignorant.

That is really strange, you must have quicktime set to play flash files. I suggest figuring out how to change the setting for what files quicktime opens, and reinstalling macromedia flash. (To find it just search for it on google.com)
