Buttons are difficult to use and screen is hard to see unless you have the camera in your hand. Also a weird effect happens when shooting though my airplane's propeller.

Might be better for other uses, but for me it's not the best.

@usarmy115511 I use it for paintball and have had no problems with it. Its taken many hits to the lense and still no problems using it. If you want better sound for paintball with the cam, drill 3-5 small holes in the rear cap

I'm looking into getting something like this, but I would quite like some sound, I have noticed on most of the ATC2K videos that its sound seems to be much better than the ATC3K...does anyone have any suggestions to what I should get. I would be using it on my RS 800 sailing Dinghy and possible on our Local RNLI inshore lifeboat, so sound would be nice on the latter. Thanks

this camera is nothing compared the one i use. I assure you. 32gb sdhc for astart. Clcik my name and watch the windsurfing vids to see more. It takes some big hits when we stack it

will it take an SDHC card or just the regular old SD card? SDHC ranges from 4 to 32gb. i had an older model of this camera and i liked it, but not too much. it does seem like they have made some improvements on this one though, so i am thinking about getting it. thanks for the review!

i have a atc2k and formatted the sd card on my mac( like i had done many times before) and the camera lost its dcim firmware and now wont turn on and doesnt work.

oregon have not replied to my emails and i see that many others have had no customer service from them. be careful.!!!

my camera worked well for 2 years but i dont think i will buy oregon again. if anyone can help me please get in touch.

The dcim should be on the cameras own firmware, not the SD. The SD stores things like video settings, date and time iirc for when the battery is removed.. and this is only a back up.

I have had no problems with my atc's and formatting the card on the puters. Try another SD card and see how you go with that, something like the newer Sandisk Ultra range are best

This Fall Oregon Scientific is coming out with the ATC-5K. This model will have a 1.5 inch LCD screen. It will cost around $250 US dollars. So if you have to have a screen you shouldn't have long to wait. I have the 3K and am very happy with it.
