Yeah the show has distanced itself from ol Artie... moved on, Artie was great in the Jacky chair. Italian bits with Artie became Instant classics. But Howard is morphing into another reinvention of himself as a game show host man on TV, which he always said was his childhood dream. Howard hints that there are comparisons between Artie and Jacky's self sabotage behavior. The Letterman appearance showed that sober Artie is just not as funny as the drug addled Artie.
Howard is 2 face. The man speaks of freedom of speech. But, placed a gag order on opie & Anthony u dumb fuvks keep paying for him for 3 days on Sirius. Fools. O&A give y four hours every day
Artie will never be a guess on his show. Howard does not like people who screw themselves over like artie did. Howard might be PC about it but from what I have learned when someone screws up and leaves he don't ever want them back. Just look at how he constantly shits on jackie. Or beats down on anybody on his show who does anything outside of his show.
Robin never really says she wants Artie back and says that the letterman interview was uncomfortable when I thought it was pretty good.
Though Howard paid Artie, and said nice things about Artie time and time again, his reason here didn't make sense.
Seems kind of like people on the show are uniting under this loving Artie but not wanting to risk hiring him again attitude. Arties the best though, he made the show. Have him make fun of high pitch mike again
@AMpufnstuf You know what I always thought is howard knew artie was messed up and kept pushing him for the purpose of his show. I mean he made fun of artie all the time picking on his weight, bringing up his gambling problems or alcohol issues. In some asshole idea that if I shame someone enough it will make them stop doing it. That failed and artie tried to kill himself. And Howard always the deflector has washed his hands of artie. Instead of feeling any responsibility.
@lastwolflord That's true, Howard abuses most people and it's enjoyable for the sake of the show but I guess you can ask yourself if Howard really realizes that he's impacting peoples emotions when he baits them for live reactions. I can't pretend to know Howards thoughts, but I don't think it's a terrible assumption to say a guy who makes a half a billion dollars off making exciting radio can probably justify to himself the moral falls along the way to keep the show exciting.
Artie is doing good, he did a good co-host on a sports radio station he was funny as heck a lot thinner and healthy he mixed in a few good jokes within the conversation good banter it was good. He's actually very knowledgible when talking about baseball but you could hear some of the old Artie with his quick wit and good segways while discussing the various topics.
@Frequent2001 I think they are working toward that. Bubba says Sirius have contacted him about getting back on. Which with the attention he has gotten with radio IO and regular radio I think they feel he will really be able to bring people to satelite now. And hes been smart enough to get everybody on his show their own radio shows on radio IO so there will be lots of talent on his channel. Doubt he will need to be on Howard 101 again.
Howard says maybe this isn't the healthiest environment in that place and he doesn't know why...........give...me...a...fuking break. Whores, perverts, drunks, freaks, sex shows, porn, liars, more liars, greed, money all over the place, more porn, free shit every day, obscene things every single second, no limit, no bounds....and this prick says "I don't know this maybe isn't the healthiest environment, I don't know why"! @frickadele for real he won't have any use for them when he is gone. Not even a christmas card. He has spent his whole life shitting on people to get ahead. @frickadele agreed. He seems to think he needs to say stuff like that in some warped attempt to fool everyone into believing he is just like them. You know in between eating at expensive resturants 3-4 times a week, riding limos to work, taking helicopters home from working, living in mutl million dollar homes/condos....etc etc.
ha, i recently started listening to full shows of stern (opposed to just youtube clips), and i was shocked to see how witty robin is. she drives conversation, provides a female perspective and makes funny comments. this weird hated of her seems more like following the default consensus than anything founded on facts
No, she's not. I'm someone who can respect a talented and funny female, Robin ain't it. She rarely contributes anything funny (I'm talking like once every three months) and is like an annoying attack dog whenever Howard's in the middle of an argument.
Listen to what Howard's saying, Artie's good for the show, the show's not good for Artie. Howard would have Artie back on in a second if there was a guarantee that Artie could stay clean and sober, but there's no guarantee. Being back on the show might drive him back to drugs.
Stern only cares about himself....watch as the future unfolds...his x-wife Allison said it herself on the show: "Howard cares about money, fame and fortune more than his own family!"
Stern's humor is a comedy of self-destruction. That's always been the theme - whether it be Jackie, or Stern, or the Jackie Puppet, ETM, Hank, Jeff the Drunk, Stuttering John or Artie. These have always been guys that blow it in some way. It attracts that element and those characters. I don't think Stern is personally responsible for that, but the show is just a magnet for that, because of how it came together.
Artie, fuck howard stern. You kick ass move to something new. I read your book and you are not an ass kisser. Time to re invent. Wanting to die?, name one american who can't relate to that. Howard is the one in the bubble now.
Howard is cleary jelious of artie and how big he got on the show....the whole show is now twitter and north shore anomal league and his picture,s he takes .its sad the old lion is losing his kingdom.......
Show gets wose everyday. 3 half shows a week and 4 days of listening to the same thing over and over, and if you tune to 101 you get The Shit Show oh, I mean The Gay Geek Show (same thing). I heard he's working 4 days in August. A picture of the schedule is circulating. One day the first week, and three days the next. If that's true, then that sucks.
@MarvelComics1985 I think it's coming to an end - it sucks when people think they have to grow up and then are not funny anymore. Eddie Murphy, Tom Hanks, Jim Carey to name a few. Or is it because there wallet grew up?
Jewboy's problems stem from his incapablity to go public, regarding his latent homosexuality. It is common knowledge, amongst insiders, that Stern and Ralph Cirella have been lovers for nearly two decades. Coming out would destroy Jewboy's core audience of young, dumb , Kool-Aid drinking males.
@hernje You are such a Jesus freak fuckhead its sickening, Do you think that stupid comments like this detract from your creepy obsession over pre-pubescent children? All you do is deflect from your frightening behaviour. Keep hiding under the guise of Stern hater fucktard. Hopefully those who have seen your hate-filled rhetoric will be able to let people know in time what a monster you are before you actually act on your perversions.PARENTS BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know everyone wants Artie back on- at least as a guest, including myself. Think about it though, it may *NOT* be the best thing for him RIGHT NOW. He's not that far into his recovery (a year + a few months isn't much when you've been an addict for so long). Think about how Artie is going to feel when he goes on the show, then has to leave. That could possibly put him into a deep, deep depression. You don't know. It's inevitable tho, maybe a year or two, doesn't matter- he'll be on eventually.
A drug addict needs support ! U don't call a drug addict a fat . Looser , junky 10x+ everyday and expect him to get better. And don't forget that Artie was a huge fan of Howard.
Ps. U never hear Artie talking to Howard about how Howard has never had sex w/Beth w/o a rubber. STD much ?
@Lvduggo69 You just described why Artie never should've been on the show. The show was always about ripping on people faults. Whether it be Howard's nose, Gary's teeth, Robin's ego, Jackie's marriage or the way Fred acts. It was all in good fun and the knew not to take it personally. Artie was a beaten person, so that type of stuff could hurt him. It's not Stern's fault though. He shouldn't have to change the way his show works because someone is on it.
@OzzyFan87 I'm just saying that everyone on the show has to have a thick skin because they know what they're getting into. They joke about Robin being molested as a child and Howard even had that bit where he talked about the miscarriage that his wife had. Nothing is off limits for them. They treated Artie like they treated everyone else on the show.
@willieboynation I say they joke about Robin, and they do. There are several instances where they joke about her molestation and she just laughs about it.
Another thing that Howard probably doesn't want to mention is that having Artie on as a guest will only lead to more people talking about Artie being back on the show permanently. Howard, understandably, doesn't want to deal with that.
howard is probably right. i think he cares about artie. he's giving artie tough love. yes, the show is not as good without him but hey, stern has been on the air for over 30 years! he can get less crazy in his older age.
i dunno, stern seems kinda fake every time he talks about arty.. he doesn't want to spark any bad feelings sounds like a really bad excuse.. prob just doesnt want him back
fuck stern, he's lost without artie! the show used to be about dudes hanging out ripping on each other. now it's just him having out of touch conversations with robin (who has to be the most useless, senile "news woman" ever).
; Artie ruined his job at MadTv because of his heroine/cocaine/alcohol/gambling addiction. 1996 - 1997, Artie was arrested, went into rehab, and didn't learn anything from the experience, obviously, as Artie did exactly the same pattern to the Howard Stern Show. Artie is now part of a sports radio show, he should never be welcomed back on the Howard Stern Show as he put heroine/cocaine/alcohol/gambling ahead of his fellow employees. If Artie was your employee would you tolerate his addictions?
@12Zwolf artie's addiction was fodder for the show, he was clearly in need of help and howard pretended he was unaware. he's a pussy for not mentioning him sooner - supposedly this is due to not wanting to say anything that will affect artie yet he's got his own radio show.
anyone who doesn't find the current show a slap in the face is delusional, if they'd let less sycophantic callers through maybe he'd realise
; Howard tried to influence Artie to go to rehab/counseling, as evidenced by, over the years, several on-air conversations. Howard got Artie on an episode of 'Queer Eye for the Straight Guy' hoping a make-over would help Artie want to get sober, instead Artie headed 'straight' for the bar. Howard helped Artie get that custom built house, including an episode on 'Man Cave' room make-over. Artie being a principal actor on the Stern Show wasn't enough for the spoiled baby. A-Whaaaaaaaaa!
@12Zwolf haha yep, a make over and a man cave is generally a sure fire way of curing addiction. but that's all beside the point, the show fucking stinks without artie and why the fuck he doesn't use sal anymore i don't know
; Because of the Howard Stern Show, 'Crumbs' stocked a cup-cake inspired by Artie, the 'Devil dog' company gave him 'Devil Dogs', Artie got gigs given to him, motion-picture roles given to him, wrote books which automatically went to the top of all best seller lists, and it wasn't enough to inspire Artie to get sober, and stay sober out of respect for the Howard Stern Show. Artie is the weakest link, and had to go. A-Whaaaaa, to the spoiled Baby Gorilla.
@12Zwolf i don't think you realize how addiction and mental health work. cupcakes, devil dogs, a role in elf and the desire to respect their boss doesn't really solve these issues.
; My point is without the 'Howard Stern Show' Artie would be just another itinerant baby gorilla working the comedy circuit until he dies from an 'accidental' over-dose in an alley in Louisiana. The fact Artie got so much is because of his employment on the 'Howard Stern Show', which should be enough for Artie to get sober, and stay sober! I have been sober for twenty-two years on, and I didn't have a job on the Howard Stern Show to inspire me, I stay sober because it is so very smart!
@12Zwolf i'm not sure it's that simple but since you don't see that, there's no use in arguing. i'll reiterate my other point though...the show sucks without him. they need him or any other comedian, there are no jokes anymore
; Actually there are lots of comic, and serious bits on the show, and I enjoy laughing at some of the situations, and interviews, as presented on the Howard Stern Show. Robin's news is very humorous, and could you do the job she does?
@12Zwolf you must have a shit sense of humor then. ipads, dancing with the stars, etc don't fall into either category.
and fuck yes i could...much better i'd bet. she gets so many facts wrong and is painful to listen to. enjoy listening to the shit that the show is now (the rare occurrences that it's on) and i'll listen to the older shows and lament about how howard's turned into what he used to hate.
do you believe, as howard's assured by his sycophants, that the show's "better than ever"?
; You have forgotten the last year Artie was on the show, how he didn't show-up for the pre-show meetings, and on the air he would turn everything into the pity Artie Show, ignoring the in-studio guests. You need to listen to the last year of shows Artie was on with a more discerning ear. Remember the violent fight Artie had with his assistant? Any other employee would have been fired on the spot, but Artie got away with it. Do you think Artie was in the right to treat his employee that way?
; If you were on the Howard Stern Show, with a guaranteed high paying job on the show, with all the benefits, as enjoyed by Artie Lange, would you treat the show the same way Artie treated the Howard Stern Show?
; There isn't any such thing as 'homo-phobic', as there isn't any such thing as 'hetero-phobic'. Are people homosexual because they're 'hetero-phobic'? By the time Howard arranged for Artie's 'make-over', Artie was well into his heroin addiction. If you had a choice between being a heroin addict, or staying sober, and being one of the world's most beloved members of the 'Howard stern Show', with all the privileges which went with the job, what would you choose?
@skaseisback Sorry man I couldn't disagree more! I think Artie was useless! He's not funny and when he was stoned (which was most of the time), he was just plain annoying! I didn't like Jackie and I couldn't stand Artie! I don't miss "That voice" at all! I would rather have George Takei sit in that chair every day than have to suffer through more Artie!
I disagree with gary. I think stern is worse lately than he was fifteen years ago. He is more whiny and waaaay more elitist. The man knows good radio but his personality is shit. Why sal even wants to have howard as a friend is beyond me.

They joke about Robin being molested as a child and Howard even had that bit where he talked about the miscarriage that his wife had. Nothing is off limits for them. They treated Artie like they treated everyone else on the show.

@82Jaster How do they bash Robin?
Everyone treats Robin like they're walking on eggshells...
What show have you been listening to?
willieboynation 2 months ago
@willieboynation I say they joke about Robin, and they do. There are several instances where they joke about her molestation and she just laughs about it.

Another thing that Howard probably doesn't want to mention is that having Artie on as a guest will only lead to more people talking about Artie being back on the show permanently. Howard, understandably, doesn't want to deal with that.

The Stern show has sucked since the late 90's and Artie only made the show worse. Bring back Billy West and The Jokeman!!!!!
MrRujfkjr 4 months ago
howard is probably right. i think he cares about artie. he's giving artie tough love. yes, the show is not as good without him but hey, stern has been on the air for over 30 years! he can get less crazy in his older age.
TheDegraders 4 months ago
Why would we want to revisit this issue? Maybe because someone who had been on the show almost ten years all of a sudden was gone?
armandm85 4 months ago
where is arty's head at? It looks like it's about to explode.
rw5791 4 months ago
i dunno, stern seems kinda fake every time he talks about arty.. he doesn't want to spark any bad feelings sounds like a really bad excuse.. prob just doesnt want him back
swat420 4 months ago
who cares, stern show hasn't been good since the late 90's
chicagocumpa 4 months ago
fuck stern, he's lost without artie! the show used to be about dudes hanging out ripping on each other. now it's just him having out of touch conversations with robin (who has to be the most useless, senile "news woman" ever).

; Artie ruined his job at MadTv because of his heroine/cocaine/alcohol/gambling addiction.
12Zwolf 4 months ago
@12Zwolf artie's addiction was fodder for the show, he was clearly in need of help and howard pretended he was unaware. he's a pussy for not mentioning him sooner - supposedly this is due to not wanting to say anything that will affect artie yet he's got his own radio show.
anyone who doesn't find the current show a slap in the face is delusional, if they'd let less sycophantic callers through maybe he'd realise
skaseisback 4 months ago
; Howard tried to influence Artie to go to rehab/counseling, as evidenced by, over the years, several on-air conversations.
12Zwolf 4 months ago
@12Zwolf haha yep, a make over and a man cave is generally a sure fire way of curing addiction. but that's all beside the point, the show fucking stinks without artie and why the fuck he doesn't use sal anymore i don't know
skaseisback 4 months ago
; Because of the Howard Stern Show, 'Crumbs' stocked a cup-cake inspired by Artie, the 'Devil dog' company gave him 'Devil Dogs', Artie got gigs given to him, motion-picture roles given to him, wrote books which automatically went to the top of all best seller lists, and it wasn't enough to inspire Artie to get sober, and stay sober out of respect for the Howard Stern Show. Artie is the weakest link, and had to go. A-Whaaaaa, to the spoiled Baby Gorilla.
12Zwolf 4 months ago
@12Zwolf i don't think you realize how addiction and mental health work. cupcakes, devil dogs, a role in elf and the desire to respect their boss doesn't really solve these issues.
skaseisback 4 months ago
; My point is without the 'Howard Stern Show' Artie would be just another itinerant baby gorilla working the comedy circuit until he dies from an 'accidental' over-dose in an alley in Louisiana. The fact Artie got so much is because of his employment on the 'Howard Stern Show', which should be enough for Artie to get sober, and stay sober! I have been sober for twenty-two years on, and I didn't have a job on the Howard Stern Show to inspire me, I stay sober because it is so very smart!
12Zwolf 4 months ago
@12Zwolf i'm not sure it's that simple but since you don't see that, there's no use in arguing. i'll reiterate my other point though...the show sucks without him. they need him or any other comedian, there are no jokes anymore
skaseisback 4 months ago
; The show has more humour now that the Artie black-hole of self-pity is gone.
12Zwolf 4 months ago
@12Zwolf you must find ipads, dancing with the stars, american idol, organization and of course robin fucking funny
skaseisback 4 months ago
; Actually there are lots of comic, and serious bits on the show, and I enjoy laughing at some of the situations, and interviews, as presented on the Howard Stern Show. Robin's news is very humorous, and could you do the job she does?
12Zwolf 4 months ago
@12Zwolf you must have a shit sense of humor then. ipads, dancing with the stars, etc don't fall into either category.
and fuck yes i could...much better i'd bet. she gets so many facts wrong and is painful to listen to. enjoy listening to the shit that the show is now (the rare occurrences that it's on) and i'll listen to the older shows and lament about how howard's turned into what he used to hate.
do you believe, as howard's assured by his sycophants, that the show's "better than ever"?
skaseisback 4 months ago
; You have forgotten the last year Artie was on the show, how he didn't show-up for the pre-show meetings, and on the air he would turn everything into the pity Artie Show, ignoring the in-studio guests. You need to listen to the last year of shows Artie was on with a more discerning ear. Remember the violent fight Artie had with his assistant? Any other employee would have been fired on the spot, but Artie got away with it. Do you think Artie was in the right to treat his employee that way?

@12Zwolf Anyone could do the job Robin does...
willieboynation 2 months ago
; I always wonder why the 'black' community doesn't have Robin Quivers as a role model? Robin Quivers is an astounding talent!
12Zwolf 2 months ago
@12Zwolf If you asked robin what she is laughing at half the time she couldnt even tell you
AcidIntellects 2 months ago
; Robin Quivers is a significant contributer to the show.
12Zwolf 2 months ago
; Robin Quivers does a great job, she is sober, she doesn't feel-sorry-for-her-self, and Artie should have seen Robin Quivers as a role model.
12Zwolf 2 months ago
; Than why don't you try to do Robin Quiver's job for a day? This I gotta hear.
12Zwolf 2 months ago
@12Zwolf why are Robin's fans so fuckin strange?
AcidIntellects 2 months ago
; Your call, now hang-up, than go back to your heroin, cocaine, alcohol, and tobacco as these are the things you admire Artie for.
12Zwolf 2 months ago
@AcidIntellects serious. wtf she's a useless cunt. miss you art. fuck you wolf

@12Zwolf You're a fucking retard.
misterE2012 4 months ago
; If you were on the Howard Stern Show, with a guaranteed high paying job on the show, with all the benefits, as enjoyed by Artie Lange, would you treat the show the same way Artie treated the Howard Stern Show?
12Zwolf 4 months ago
@12Zwolf You're such a complete retard dude.
You have no idea what the fuck you're talking about.
willieboynation 2 months ago
@12Zwolf Dude Howard never gave shit about Artie.
It's obvious that Howard knew having homophobic Artie around gay guys doing a make over would be hilarious.
It was just a completely obvious bit for the radio
willieboynation 2 months ago
; There isn't any such thing as 'homo-phobic', as there isn't any such thing as 'hetero-phobic'.
12Zwolf 2 months ago
@skaseisback Sorry man I couldn't disagree more! I think Artie was useless! He's not funny and when he was stoned (which was most of the time), he was just plain annoying! I didn't like Jackie and I couldn't stand Artie! I don't miss "That voice" at all! I would rather have George Takei sit in that chair every day than have to suffer through more Artie!
