Yup. This was the most painful postseason series of my life, bar none. 2007 was also a bad year, but it couldn't hold a candle to this. After all, the Yankees had no say in how far the Red Sox got last year.

As for 2004, I think it's made me a better fan, and better person for living through it. I watched this collapse happen before my very eyes. I vividly remember where I was and what I said right afterward.

A disaster like this helps build character and toughness in the long run.

Just for the sake of arguing, I'll say the Boston Celtics are the most successful team in all of sports. When they won their last title (2000), Yankees had won 27% of all World Series in history - as of today, about 25%. In 1986, when the Celtics won their last title, they had won 40% of all NBA championships - as of today, still about 27%. I'm sure there's more to consider, but I just don't like the Yankees.
