Wear a mask for safety by all means but don't use lead-free solder.
This soldering your doing with this has to be 100% proof against fracturing or the joint failing.
Lead-free solder doesn't guarantee this.
Or to put it another way, if you use lead-free solder you'll end up risking having to rip open your sealed panel to try and fault-find why it's not working at full efficiency :)
@WatchRyder funny thing is, it's probably true shit haha. good video though man. you know anything about electro magnet motors/generators? building one of those to power a house or car would be epic.
Have you had problems with your cells overheating? I tried encapsulating some cells onto an 8mm plexiglas face down (sun exposed part of cell on the plexiglas, EVA at the back). When I test panel, I got really good numbers, but after a few minutes in the sun, the cells seem to be heating up and my voltage and amps start dropping.
The bigger the area of solar panel, the more electricity it will generate. COOL.
BTW, it is also a good idea to have the solar panels over a box containing a small fan (notebook cooler fan) with openings, which can help keep the temperature of solar plates down. Cos the efficiency of solar plates will decrease with an increase in temperature of the plates.
pardon me... DONT use lead free solder ??

cool video. My Grand Father had a patent on something to do with solar panels many years ago. His garage had solar panels.

@Ph4ntom74
I can't promise it man, but if you check out my home website's that are on my channel page I MAY, in the future, do some web pages on them.
Really I can't explain it much more than I have on the video though...
I've sent you a PM with some forum's that have additional stuff on them about Off-the-grid stuff etc.

ak74srthebest0909 1 year ago
@ak74srthebest0909
Not at all man!
The cells cost me about $25, the perspex and EVA cost about $35 - 40.
So about $60 - $65 all in. :)

Yeah this sort of video is unknown on youtube for making one with the exception of Green Power Energy who disliked the soldering aspect.
