I work at Best Buy, Geek Squad.. you use "Windows Media Center" to utilize to tuner. As long as the driver is loaded, that is the program you use to utilize the tuner.

Um. Actually windows Media Center never recognized the tuner either, even straight out of the box.

I know very little about TV tuner cards so I can't really help you, but providing Windows recognises the hardware you at least know it's a software issue. What OS are you running?

I did a quick Google search and a couple of posts implied Windows Media Player is able to capture video. Not sure about that.

In any case if you know what software you need just download it from warez-bb or piratebay. It'll probably be there.

as for video editing you need stuff like:

- a fast cpu, lots of ram, graphics card doesnt matter that much

for playing games:

- fast cpu, less amount of ram, good graphics card

good mixing of both:

- quad core cpu (very good for editing, good at gaming, but not needed)

- at least 3,2 gig of ram (if you run it unter a 32 bit version of windows) (standard)

- geforce or ati graphic card with at least 896 mb ram (good for mordern games)

3. ask yourself what you need in your pc

4. then ask or search the web for good price points

5. go into a computer store and tell them about it and ask if they can build you that machine if you can't do it on your own

I dont have a HP computer but my other HP products like to kill themself after warrenty. Heh well my laptop sucks too, the graphics card is so bad that it barely runs WoW even though I spent 2000$ on it (I was young and stupid). All in all I just wish I knew the techy people I know now back when I got the pooters, so they could've helped me custom make computers that don't suck instead.

But yeah, consoles are nice because you know the game is going to run on them. However, aiming with toggle sticks still sucks x.x

If I had your new AIM, I could possibly help out with the problem. That said, I used to use a program called DScaler to input my PS2 via my TV tuner card, and it should recognize most, provided the drivers aren't screwy. Should be able to record via FRAPS, if nothing else, with that application.
