Doing low level content is kinda pointless and irrelevant.. All you see is the UI of the game, graphics and what the combat is kind of like. "In depth" my ass, all you do is show some basic footage of level 1-6ish across all games.

@kaotonic First of all the game came out like, i don't know 3 weeks ago and of course it has lag and problems. If you'll remember wow had problems when it came out to practically every mmo does, especially ones that have over 1 million subscribers in less than a month. Secondly an average gaming computer can play this game fine just not on the highest graphic settings which arent needed to enjoy the game anyway but a good gaming pc rocks the shit out of this game on highest graphics settings

Its story is generic, not near as good as KoTOR, Dragon Age, etc., combat is just like City of Heroes, WoW, etc, and there just arent that many things to look foward to at higher lvl. @soba7i i'm going to assume by your ignorant comment that you haven't actually looked at any gameplay footage of the sorceror. If you had you would see that at higher levels the sorc has easily a dozen different spells he can choose from with skills that boost certain stats making for a more in depth combat system. Also each advanced class has three different routes he can take in terms of overall combat strategy whether it's tank dps or healer or some combination of the three.

I've played wow for a few years myself and enjoyed it, it has good gameplay, good graphics and lots of content to explore, with your friends or yourself. But i got SW:TOR a few days ago and I have to say, i believe that it takes the cake. I love the fact that it is story driven and all of its cinematic and quests are fully voiced, the combat is also much more satisfying due to the fact your enemies react to your moves and parry. This makes it look more realistic. WoW is good but SWTOR is great.

@ALLYRNUBZ CoD isn't a game for people with brains, its a game for people with the attention spans of crickets who cant focus on anything if there isn't an explosion every 4 seconds and get frustrated if they have to think for more than 8 seconds a day.
TOR actually offers a game where you might need to use you're grey matter and the fact that you see that as a negative quality speaks volumes about your mental aptitude, or lack thereof.
@dan240393 Obviously MMOs are known to be the most cerebrally stimulating of genres, yes. Gathering animal tails and hack and slash dungeon crawling with less dialogue than that of RPG from the 80'ies speak volumes about MMO players and their gray matter.
I like Star Wars, I'm kind of a child of Star Wars myself, so I'm not trying to bash on something just because I don't totally love some parts of it. The more "story-driven" way of unfolding SW:TOR shows *is* intriguing and the graphics seem quite decent too. Conan is a nice alternative fantasy experience with darker ambient looks and more solo play. Warhammer has its details, but it seems kind of easier and simpler overall and in a way the most similar to WoW, but I'm not into Warhammer at all.
So, comparing those 4 games is rather difficult, because they're very different from each other - different themes, different approaches. If I had the time to play more than one, I'd maybe do that, but I don't think I could settle in well enough, since they're all pretty extensive and time-consuming, especially WoW and SW:ToR.
As a frequent WoW player and with video games in mind, being more a fan of fantasy than of SciFi, I have to say that WoW still seems the most fitting for me, then SW:ToR.
i played the beta, while i only rolled one toon i got enough out of it to say this, this game isnt the best mmorpg out there, the voice acting and stuff is cool, but the crafting system is garbage automated crap, and yes i do realize that you can manually gather and what not, but nothing in this game sets it apart or makes it original in any way= and all you people claiming it to be gods gift are delusional= its just wow with star wars texture over it lolz and dont bother replying :) that is all

Let's put it this way. They're all mainly the same. You got skills, weapons, attacks, minimaps, character customization, quest logs, chat logs, and inventories, all of these games are basically the same format. If anyone really even looks at the 4 of them, they're all fairly similar in most categories.

@achvina IMO, I agree with you :), after I got elected to play in the beta, I was blown away by the amazing storylining. This game truly rocks the house, and I don't think that this is any more reason to bring star wars back to people who once loved it.
Story wise: SWToR all the way. You really get into your characters and some of the conversations can be hilarious if you're with friends. My female trooper to a mob sith apprentice: "Will your master feel it when I put a laser bolt between your eyes?" My friend on vent went "Daaaammnnnn, girl!". Yes, we lol'd. It was great.
For combat: I still think AoC has the best out of all the MMOs. A much more interactive, console feel to it. Not to mention some cool fatalities.
WoW sucks now. Swtor will destroy it. All the blizzard fanbois can stay playing the shit game and talk shit about the new MMO while the rest of us playing it will just have fun playing something new. Haters be haters.

Yeah this is the very very early stages of beta,Graphics have been improved,(some low textures but I am sure AA will fix that) Questing in SWTOR is great,its compelling,interesting and very fun to do.the Space Combat and Companions that level your profession for you and get you your materials is just fantastic. Sounds.Graphics.and Voice Acting is very greatly done.SWTOR will be the game that finally kills WoW.Players are already quitting WoW for SWTOR,cant wait till WoW crashes and goes F2P.

I have never understood to concept of comparing mmos. Every mmo has its own unique place. I played wow, do i hate it? NO. do i miss it? NO. It did well and for the time i played it (3 years), it served its purpose, it entertained me. When it comes down to it, some mmos just fit with some people better than others. Nothing more to it
Well so far what i've gotten is SWTOR is your average bioware game which means they got GREAT voice overs for everything and you'll be able to interact and pick your answer at anytime. and they got a minor buff in the combat department with allowing you to hide behind stuff like rocks and such, but overall will i probably stick with gw 2. 200 euro for SWTOR collectors edition and aditional fee each month is a bit .
Besides do i prefere the Dynamic quests, and the combat in GW2 and no monthly fee

I think this comparison is not fair, C'mon old games vs new games? Why it wasnt compared with Guild Wars 2 or Diablo 3 for example? I personaly think SWTOR will be extremely good unique game, but still isnt guild wars 2 as good as it? I.e. doesnt it come to realy a personal choise to chose wich to play? Conan's Quest, the 1st one, is the tutorial and few quests after it become very boring and basic.
Champions' combat can be a little more fun than that, and since all u did was stand still and not even use the rocks on enemies you can't show a SWOTOR vid of guy moving around etc... even though it is much better (though the demonstrator sucked so maybe you thought that balanced it?)
some think it will die with Mists of Pandaria, but the ones wishing that it seems are the SW fanboys.
I don't say that SWTOR sucks, and Wow does have its flaws. What I do hate is people thinking SWTOR will be the WoW killer they think it is, and when someone says no, they're branded a "WoW Fanboy"
@dremordrick Cataclysm was terrible. Because of Cataclysm, SWTOR has an even greater chance of "killing WoW". And plus, the new WoW expansion Mists of Pandaria looks like fuckin' Kung Fu Panda. It looks terrible. So I don't think SWTOR should have any difficulty competing with WoW

I'm all for change, but a lot of WoW players think Vanilla was the best just because they don't like change. Blizzard is just trying something new.

How can anyone even say this 'looks like WoW' ? WoW shaped the ways MMO's will be from here on. Of course this is going to have similarities. Thirdly, companions that are not players that work with you and make stuff for you. Ranged Tanking, not sure that has been done in any MMO I have seen or played. A covering system. A STORY LINE THAT MAKES SENSE FROM THE BEGINNING!

@ALLYRNUBZ CoD isn't a game for people with brains, its a game for people with the attention spans of crickets who cant focus on anything if there isn't an explosion every 4 seconds and get frustrated if they have to think for more than 8 seconds a day.
TOR actually offers a game where you might need to use you're grey matter and the fact that you see that as a negative quality speaks volumes about your mental aptitude, or lack thereof.

I like Star Wars, I'm kind of a child of Star Wars myself, so I'm not trying to bash on something just because I don't totally love some parts of it. The more "story-driven" way of unfolding SW:TOR shows *is* intriguing and the graphics seem quite decent too. Conan is a nice alternative fantasy experience with darker ambient looks and more solo play. Warhammer has its details, but it seems kind of easier and simpler overall and in a way the most similar to WoW, but I'm not into Warhammer at all.

So, comparing those 4 games is rather difficult, because they're very different from each other - different themes, different approaches. If I had the time to play more than one, I'd maybe do that, but I don't think I could settle in well enough, since they're all pretty extensive and time-consuming, especially WoW and SW:ToR.
As a frequent WoW player and with video games in mind, being more a fan of fantasy than of SciFi, I have to say that WoW still seems the most fitting for me, then SW:ToR.

i played the beta, while i only rolled one toon i got enough out of it to say this, this game isnt the best mmorpg out there, the voice acting and stuff is cool, but the crafting system is garbage automated crap, and yes i do realize that you can manually gather and what not, but nothing in this game sets it apart or makes it original in any way= and all you people claiming it to be gods gift are delusional= its just wow with star wars texture over it lolz and dont bother replying :) that is all

Let's put it this way. They're all mainly the same. You got skills, weapons, attacks, minimaps, character customization, quest logs, chat logs, and inventories, all of these games are basically the same format. If anyone really even looks at the 4 of them, they're all fairly similar in most categories.

Story wise: SWToR all the way. You really get into your characters and some of the conversations can be hilarious if you're with friends. My female trooper to a mob sith apprentice: "Will your master feel it when I put a laser bolt between your eyes?" My friend on vent went "Daaaammnnnn, girl!". Yes, we lol'd. It was great.
For combat: I still think AoC has the best out of all the MMOs. A much more interactive, console feel to it. Not to mention some cool fatalities.

Yeah this is the very very early stages of beta,Graphics have been improved,(some low textures but I am sure AA will fix that) Questing in SWTOR is great,its compelling,interesting and very fun to do.the Space Combat and Companions that level your profession for you and get you your materials is just fantastic. Sounds.Graphics.and Voice Acting is very greatly done.SWTOR will be the game that finally kills WoW.Players are already quitting WoW for SWTOR,cant wait till WoW crashes and goes F2P.

I have never understood to concept of comparing mmos. Every mmo has its own unique place. I played wow, do i hate it? NO. do i miss it? NO. It did well and for the time i played it (3 years), it served its purpose, it entertained me. When it comes down to it, some mmos just fit with some people better than others. Nothing more to it

Well so far what i've gotten is SWTOR is your average bioware game which means they got GREAT voice overs for everything and you'll be able to interact and pick your answer at anytime. and they got a minor buff in the combat department with allowing you to hide behind stuff like rocks and such, but overall will i probably stick with gw 2. 200 euro for SWTOR collectors edition and aditional fee each month is a bit .
Besides do i prefere the Dynamic quests, and the combat in GW2 and no monthly fee

I think this comparison is not fair, C'mon old games vs new games? Why it wasnt compared with Guild Wars 2 or Diablo 3 for example? Conan's Quest, the 1st one, is the tutorial and few quests after it become very boring and basic.
Champions' combat can be a little more fun than that, and since all u did was stand still and not even use the rocks on enemies you can't show a SWOTOR vid of guy moving around etc... even though it is much better (though the demonstrator sucked so maybe you thought that balanced it?)

@DrMeh3 Actually Kung fu Panda kind of copied WoW. The Pandaren, bi-pedal ale drinking martial artist panda humanoids were part of Warcraft lore and introduced as an easter egg in WC3 in 2003. Kung Fu panda was released in 2008. Sorry but I get pissed when people assume " Oh this new expansion is soooo gay, kung fu panda really?". But anyway, carry on.

@P4iiZ Vanilla was easy, take it from someone who actually played it. And I highly doubt you you will ever be able to one shot raid bosses, but I catch your drift. And the pet battles is just to give companions a use, but you don't HAVE to do pet battles. You don't HAVE to play as a pandaren. I honestly don't think the new expansion is half bad. I'm all for change, but a lot of WoW players think Vanilla was the best just because they don't like change. Blizzard is just trying something new.

@olimar9 Agree it was more of a "exaggeration to promote understanding", if i keep playing wow after trying SWTOR i doubt it, i would most likely make a panda, use pet fights and still have some friends to enjoy the game with even though theres points in the game i don't really feel is the best, but either way, it could just be nice to have some challange now and then, personally i liked the TBC talent system best, because it made a variation for your skills but most i like the NWN system.

How can anyone even say this 'looks like WoW' ? WoW shaped the ways MMO's will be from here on. Of course this is going to have similarities. To say this is a 'WoW clone' is silly because in WoW you have a pre-determined path, you can't choose how quests unfold and you sit in town waiting for queues. From the looks of this, it immerses you in your characters plot, WoW quests just ask you to kill 15 bad guys or collect X. It's time to pass the torch guys, this isn't a bad thing. WoW is just old.

Thirdly, companions that are not players that work with you and make stuff for you. Ranged Tanking, not sure that has been done in any MMO I have seen or played. A covering system.
