The longer characters, like Y, have a rhythm. Y would be Dah Dit Dah Dah, of course. Try using an audible approach as well using the rhythm of the character.
@APersonalHaunting I received 100% on my STCW test at SUNY Maritime. I should be approved to test any day now. I was able to memorize the code easily using the mnemonics. However the real skill was watching that blinking light on the screen flash away and be able to copy it quickly. Once I had it copied I was able to translate the code.
