  • Two people are cheap enough to be caught once LOL!! So were you guys using the jigheads that come with the magnets, or were you just split-shotting 'em?

  • We use the 1/64th shad dart jig head that TM sells with the bodies. They work great and the hooks are sharp..

  • Nice fish!

  • when i was 12 i caught one of similar size. they must not get too big

  • What kind of rod is that? But that is a NICE FISH!!!!

  • We were using Trout Magnet's 9' custom rod called a Trinity Series. They sell them for $150. and they are sweet rods that help to cast the Trout Magnet further and to fish them deeper..

  • ive seen trout 2 feet in length but thats still cool.

  • Awesome!

  • where do you buy trout magnets? like bass pro and local fishing shops or what?

  • They can be gotten at Walmarts that are near trout waters, some BPS and local shops. Online is the best way, as you can get anything they have: troutmagnet[dot]com

    Their shipping is very reasonable..

  • I just tried troutmagnet today, I was not impressed, not one bite, impossible to cast more than 15-20 feet, but the water was slow and I didn't have their poles. so I will try them again and post weather they work on the white river or not. you know we never see these great fishermen on lakes or rivers around the Beaver in Ar.

  • Light line is the key to making the Trout Magnets work. I use 2 lb test and a fluorocarbon leader. If you add too much weight it deadens the action of the Trout Magnet. I fish the White in AR and have 100+ fish days.. I am a light tackle junkie. I catch trout when others around me are not, these things work great! It may take you a while to adjust from what you are used to doing - check out their website for more "how to's", I did and I followed exactly what they recomended - works great!

  • how do you fish the trout magnet if there is no current in the water (kayak fishing)

  • Their website has all this info and more [trout magnet dot com]. For me what I do is fish it under the bobber and slightly twitch the float everynow and then. Change depth so magnet if just off the bottom.. These things are deadly on panfish too. Light line is key with little or no weight..

  • Very NICE!! Tried these a week ago and didn't regret it one bit :)

  • The trout magnet is a realy good lure. I do best with it with crappies but i have hooked a really nice sized trout but got away. Great fish.

  • I've tried things 100% similar to trout magnet and never got even a bite. I then switched to worm and hooked up a bunch! did i not catch any because I was fishing brook trout, or because there is something special about trout magnet? Please let me know if trout magnet is actually as good as worms for fishing trout!

  • Here is what I know. Trout Magnets work, period. You must use light line and completely follow their simple suggestions found @ troutmagnet[dot]com. I use their 2lb main line with their 2lb fluorocarbon leader. I fish them under the small float you see in the vid. With Trout Magnets I never gut hook a fish they are always hooked in their upper lip. I have caught 1000's of trout & many Tennessee TARP brook trout 10" and bigger on Trout Magnets. This is what I know - from one angler to another...

  • nice rainbow

  • nice!

  • Appreciate the comment. This was a great fish that we successfully revived and released to swim another day..

  • how did you fish it? Cast and retrieve or just let it sit? Slowly retrieve?

  • I fish the Trout Magnets under their float so the TM is just above the bottom. I only slightly twitch the float when I don't get bites. I cast upstream and let them float downstream with a drag free drift, set the hook when the float does something you or the current did not cause.. Light line has been the biggest key to my success. I use 2lb test with a 2lb fluorocarbon leader...

  • Trout mags are the best great fish!

  • @pelletgun12 ~ Thanks. They do make a great lure and we have been blessed to catch thousands of fish with them. Just wish they could all be this big...

  • was that a white mag. you caught it on i love mags they catch me a lot of huge pan fish and the occasional bass and lage trout

  • ...Can't remember exactly it was either a white or a bubble gum colored magnet. We like all the colors in their neon kit, plus red. Hope this helps a bit...
