I really can't explain it, but Universum is *the* melodic death metal band in my opinion, I started off listening to Scar Symmetry and trailed off away from their sound, then about two years later I found Universum which really took me back to my roots of when I first listened to the genre, one year later you release Mortuus Machina which sounds insane!

Whatever you do, never disband, you're fucking awesome!

@TheCyanSheep They are great, although I prefer Amon Amarth and Insomnium this is in my opinion real Melodic Death Metal. This is another type of MDM similar to Soilwork. There are to many good bands in this genre to say one is the best. I dont like the screams/growls of the Universum singer they are a bit metalcore-ish for my taste, but still listenable.

This is definitely one of the best songs I listened for a long while. Christian gains "God-status" again...

I don't think their vocalist sounds Metalcore at all. I think he sounds like a younger version of Christian Alvestam, honestly. He's improved a lot since their first album, A LOT, his growls are so much better now. I think this whole album sounds just like old Scar Symmetry. And no, this sounds nothing like Soilwork, Soilwork sucks dick and shouldnt' even be considered Melodic Death Metal. They are pussies and Bjorn is a terrible vocalist.

And I don't say the Alvestam comment because Alvestam is on this song. Even the songs without Alvestam still have growls very similiar to Alvestam's growls. Funny how another band like Universum can make stuff that sounds more like the original Scar Symmetry than the actual band can with new vocalists. Universum > New Scar Symmetry

@xHybr1d I dont say that he sucks. He is very good, it is just a matter of taste. This album is awesome I'll order it as soon as I can. My favourite Song so far is Asymmetric Dimensional State. Maybe his voice grows on me.

By the way did anyone heard the whole thing? A friend of mine ordered the album, but it still hasn't arrived.

Oh ok, that's understandable. I will admit that his voice had to grow on me too when I first started listening to them. I haven't been able to get a copy of the album yet, sadly. I want to hear it so badly!
