  • Aye class tell me more please! #Sarcasm

  • This is - hands down - absolutely THE funniest goddamn story I have ever heard in my life, and when Monty Python tells the funniest story ever, it will NEVER be out-funnied. Cleese told it better than Idle, but the basic story is still The Greatest One Liner Ever.

  • Probably Chapman was only half joking, so it's not a oneliner per se, more like a funny thing that happened.

  • funny!

  • when does it get funny? And I'm still waiitng for the worlds best oneliner!

    What a load of shite!

  • @StoneageDinosaurs "Tell them we're Jewish"

  • @FatBoySlim696 Like I said, I'm still waiting for the worlds best oneliner. Monty Python are about as funny as a migraine!

  • @StoneageDinosaurs and your sense of humor is about as great as a trash can

  • *This* is not a one liner. This is a funny story about a one liner.

  • There are some people who need to read up on Monty Python.

  • R.I.P

  • RIP Graham chapman. :(

  • They made all this effort to get into Dachau...how hard was it to get out?

  • @schallrd1 Only took them a couple years.

  • @schallrd1 THAT was a good one liner

  • Graham in the urn has the best line!

When a German reporter asked Robin Williams why he thought there was so little comedy in Germany, he said, Did you ever think that you killed all the funny people?

  • the guy on the far rights sweater is by far funnier than the story

  • Good joke, bad presentation. he sounds like someone who heard the joke 5 years ago and is only vague remembering it.

  • Still love that line.

  • jim carrey is french.

  • but the jews are tight...

  • @figbat1 Stop spamming with your crap!

  • @figbat1 Yes! I have worked your comments out:

Your first name is Phil, you listen to crap music, you get the shits every 336 days because of poor diet choices and you are the craziest fucker I've met on youtube.

  • @ColostomyCake ...thankyou....somebody finally understands me.

  • @ColostomyCake ...you can also find me on you-tube site "qi untransmitted charliebouy125"....read my comments....what does it all mean?

  • I came up with a theory that nothing being discussed on this video has anything to do with said video. It involves several people talking absolute unrelated shit, and passing said ideas off as intelligent. Essentially, this video is 1:13. That means that the video itself is unlucky, as 13 is an unlucky number. Therefore I was unlucky to see all this shit by watching what is otherwise a good video.

  • @figbat1 What the hell are you talking about? Here's a theory I came up with, it involves peaches, a twig and a little person. I have been experimenting with stabbing myself in the eye with a twig while eating peaches every hour.I'm on hour 7 and I've found that it really makes my eye hurt everytime I do it. Also it makes little people laugh uproariously. Little people love to laugh at the misfortune of others.

  • @chrisjreddie greetings christopher robin...im glad you read it....im not lying. go to "qi stephen fry puts alan in his place" for more.

  • @figbat1 you are a fucking moron and no matter what anybody says you will still believe you are somehow correct. Therefore, you are a fucking ignorant and pretentious moron.

  • That's not even REMOTELY a "one liner", but it IS very funny.

  • Anyone else notice the urn in the chair where Graham Chapman would have sat.........

  • LOL gr8 clip! It's too bad so many mental-midgets felt the need to respond.

  • Hahaha. Oh God. I can't believe Chapman had the balls to say that... Good work

  • King Graham.

  • Woot! My very first multi-line oneliner experience!

  • Was expecting more but hey, we don't all have the same humor ;)

  • I don't think the uploader understands what a one-liner is... Either way, good video.

  • Dachau was a resort for Jews. Waterslides, ferris wheels.

  • @InfragilisTerminatio

dont forget the awesome spa steam bath

  • @FosckoDmaw Sorry if you are too stupid to understand british humour mabey it will make more sense when you grow up.

  • @FosckoDmaw umadbro?

  • hahahaha

  • Google "Benny Hill considered funnier than Monty Python"--almost one million postings by that title.

  • That's Liam Neeson to the right isn't it?

BTW, grew up with Monty Python, love them all!

  • @Ludd3332 If you grew up with Monty Python, I sure as hell hope that was a joke.

  • @lllhOoLiGaNlll I'm sorry i can't recognize him...

  • its a joke, and obviosly an excerpt out of show dedicated to a passed away comedian. because the one liner at the end is about jews, why does it have always go on about who died, who killed who and whos mom is fatter than anyones else? you people are mental.

  • lol and they let them in....

  • HahahAAHAAAAAAA!

  • "Tell them we're Jews."

I LOLed so damn hard. XD

  • I don't get this at all

  • @terryfez then you sir, need to go back to school and learn about what happened during World War 2 then you might understand

  • @terryfez it was a Nazi concentration camp, one of the worst. So by saying they were Jewish the guard would feel obliged to let them in. Simples.

  • This is so funny!

  • Does no one understand that ACFriday6 isn't denying the holocaust? He didn't understand the reference, but clearly understood that the joke was dealing with anti-semitism...how on earth does this make him a racist idiot?

  • @SwadianFC Most people aren't saying ACFriday6 is denying the holocaust. Instead, they're angry at the fact that he/she didn't make the link in regards to WWII concentration camps.

  • OOOHH MYY GOD he's teh guy from casper's ghost!@

  • @david1991rules4life That guy is Eric Idle. He is well known British comedian from Monty Python

  • @doomslayer133 ohhhh that's right!!!

  • @ACFriday You did not know.

  • Funny on so many levels. But hey, we Jews always had an easier time getting into those camps. It's leaving that's a problem.

  • It's a punch line not a one liner... a one liner has one line, and is not usually even a joke. Still awesome of course.

  • @ACFriday6 No, the camps were a real thing during the second world war.

  • @knold20 i know the camps were real, i just didnt know they were at a former concentration camp. i just mixed up 2 different historical events. now i keep getting spammed and trolled lol.

  • @knold20 ACFriday6 not getting it is funnier than the joke XD

  • @ACFriday6

Your the reason I don't want to live on this planet anymore.

  • @IamtheJunkee lol why?

  • @ACFriday6

....because you were oblivious to the fact that they were going to a concentration camp, a place where jews were sent during WWII, and the reason they said "lets tell them were jews" is because all the jews were sent to the concentration vamps and majority of them died D:

  • @IamtheJunkee well i mean yeah i know that. i get the joke now, but for some reason it didnt occur to me he was reffering to concentration camps. i thought he was refering to the munich olympics thing where the terrorists held the Israelli team hostage and killed them all. but yeah. i dont know why i didnt catch on lol.

    /facepalm

  • @ACFriday6 WTF? You don't know what Dachau is? Are you from USA?

  • @zemersEU yep. but im only 18 so i havent really had a chance to visit europe or anything, plus im from a low income family, and it probably costs alot to fly to europe. just clarfying that since i made myself look like the stereotypical american lol. please don't troll me lol

  • @ACFriday6 No, not at all. But you don't have to fly to Europe just to know what Dachau is though. I'm from Europe and I've never been to Dachau nor Auschwitz, but it's somehow common here to just know what those places are. Cheers

  • @ACFriday6

    learn history, dude.

  • @ACFriday6 your a special one arent you

  • @TheMagnatar Believe it or not, some people don't know about the Holocaust. They don't even teach about it in some countries.

  • @jjk717 I might excuse you if you were brough up on Mars. Incase your wondering Mars is a planet.

  • @ACFriday6 31,951 (documented number the real number is unknown) jews and other undesirables was executed by the nazi goverment under a period of 12 years and later (45-48) became a prison for nazi personnel for crimes against humanity.

48-60 it was housing for expelled germans fom Czechoslovakia and a us military camp.

It was closed 1960 and is now a tourist attraction.

  • @ACFriday6 how the fuck do you not know what the death camps were... ffffuuu american education.

  • @ACFriday6 Dachau was a concentration camp where German and Polish Jews were imprisoned, used as slave labor, and finally executed by the Nazis, for no other reason than that they were Jews.

  • @ACFriday6 Obvious troll is obvious.

  • Super funny! :)

  • This isn't a one-liner!

  • @kapachenko "Tell them we're Jewish" IS a one-liner.

  • @TheEsperanza243 Thank you!

  • haha graham rip

  • Does no-one understand that the one-liner is "Tell them we're Jewish"? The rest is context, something which is obviously required to tell it properly.

  • @Westwoooooooood Thank you!

  • @knold20 Indeed!

  • @Westwoooooooood I think it was destined to be lost on the audience at the point at which the host has obviously not been able to place where he's heard the name 'Dachau' before.

  • @Westwoooooooood a one liner is when you tell the whole joke in one line not just the punch line you fucking moron

  • @cawthy07

Fuck me! The joke IS "Tell them we're Jewish". Obviously he NEEDS to tell us the context otherwise it wouldn't make sense! He's telling a STORY, not a JOKE. Capiche?

  • @Westwoooooooood

A funny story can have a punch-line. I say it is an anecdote, anyway.

  • @Westwoooooooood Doesn't that make it a punchline though? I mean, otherwise everything leading up to any joke can just be context, and every punchline ever would suddenly be a "one liner". Isn't the whole idea of a one liner the fact that you only need that ONE LINE for the joke to work. ('Venison's deer isn't it?', 'I'm not ashamed of my wife, if you don't believe me go out to the car and ask her.') It was a one liner when it was spoken in that context. When you retell it, it's not.

  • @Westwoooooooood This is not a joke that needs explanation. Parodies and sarcasm sometimes need to be explained. Don't spoil the fun of seeing moronic, confused and incorrect questions posed by posters. By leading the horse to water you are ruining additional fun for people that understand the joke. Plus they have google and perhaps a keyboard to research things, no?

  • Lol

  • god damn it buy a dictionary

  • Your definition of "one liner" perhaps needs to be revisited.... Funny story though.

  • YELLOWBEARD , rip mate.

  • vat kamp? zer vas no kamp here! just a...executive retreat for vealthy businessmen

  • @Icanhasoboe Why do you sound Russian? :P

  • @SpaTamacco i was going for german, but both regimes were repressive to jews

  • one liner? more like a fucking paragraph!

  • @MrLA7X Nonono, the "tell them we're Jewish" was the oneliner. The rest was background.

  • @MrLA7X Yeah I was thinking the same thing, its a full joke not a one liner and definitely not "World's best"

  • he was in casper!!!

  • thumbs up if you where waiting for a one liner after the joke :)

  • @mrmrhollingsworth Nope, I got the joke.

  • @mrmrhollingsworth It WAS a oneliner you. Don't tell me I actually have to explain it... Idle is telling the story of their visit to an old Nazi concentration camp where the guards won't let them in, whereafter Chapman says: "Tell them we're Jewish." If that's not a oneliner, I don't know what is.

  • @lllhOoLiGaNlll No way..... what an embarrassment I am... that is hilarious! Lots of people did not get it too though. Thanks for explaining

  • @lllhOoLiGaNlll This must be the world's longest one liner.... It's a bit longer than one line.... The Jewish bit is actually called the punch line....

  • @Rafterman123 i think the point is, what idle is telling you is not a joke in its self, its the retelling of a joke, when chapman made the joke that day, it was a one liner

  • @lllhOoLiGaNlll Not a one-liner. To be a 'one liner' it must be 'self contaned'. For example if you turn to your companion and say "I'm not afraid of dying, I just don't want to be there when it happens" (Woody Allen), you might get a laugh. But if instead you just say "Tell them we're Jewish" I suspect you'll get a puzzled look. One is a brilliant one-liner, the other a brilliant response.

  • @lllhOoLiGaNlll Hmm... i think the purpose of a one liner is that the set up and punchline is all in... wait for it... one line.

Like, Demitri Martin's "A dream catcher works... if your dream is to be gay."

  • @lllhOoLiGaNlll a oneliner is funny regardless of context. this needed a story to go along with it. moron

  • @guineapiggyman Just watch the fucking video and enjoy it.

  • Comment removed

  • is he the chap from Monty?

  • @IRememberTheOldDays I believe so... And who are you?

  • @planetyes Who am I? Im a chap from Britain. Yourself?

  • oh man was that empty chair for graham? :(

  • @nhonho23 It isn't empty. His urn is sitting on it.

  • Definitely not the funniest by a long shot.....it was ok.

  • not that funny, but pretty good

  • The same thing happened with the guy who made "Truth Behind The Gates of Auschwitz". Although, he really was Jewish.

  • I think the funniest part is when he is telling about all the Germans pretending not to know where the camp is. "Never heard of it."

  • The Germans don't have a sense of humour? I can see how that would draw them towards the Pythons.

  • It makes sense that Eric would recount this story because I think that he and Graham had the most subversive sense of humour of all of the Pythons. Great stuff!

  • can someone type the spelling of what they went to do? a "writing _____ " ? I dont have the patience to read all 49 pages of comments to see if it's in there and I tried googling things but can't find something similar.

  • @xINVISIGOTHx recce short for reconnaissance

  • more of an amusing anecdote than a one-liner but nice vid none the less

  • This isn't really a oneliner, is it?

  • @Hatguy23 "Tell them we're Jewish" is I think the one-liner.

  • @mlawren7 It is.

  • I'd always heard that Chapman did a great Eric Idle impression, but nobody told me it was this good!

  • Why bother going there to see the concentration camps, you've got about 500-800 scattered all over the states now ready for you, you'll get to see them soon if you don't start defending your liberties

  • @SpunkeyMonkey because they are english

  • @SpunkeyMonkey I'm looking forward to it.

Besides...They're closer to Germany than the States. Why would they bother coming here?

  • was that an urn?

  • @irishmma1 Yes, with Graham Chapman in.

  • @ropeman1968

Wow i had no idea, i came across this video randomly..

Thats so nice of them to still have him with them on the show.

    RIP

  • @irishmma1 Yes. They brought Graham with them.

  • i remember watching this when it aired, these gys truly are fantastic comedians

  • I love oneliner, can read more oneliner at @onelinertweet from twitter! haha

  • i'm sorry but is this golden urn containing Graham Champman, or at least what's left of him?

  • "Everyone kept denying they knew where it was!" Gold

  • @EaterHobo

How can you not see the hilarity in that? You are probably the greatest joke of all time.

  • @Tewks4life I've just gone through the replies to the few little comments I've made throughout Youtube in the last year and it's become very clear that finding a sense of humor in the comments on Youtube is not impossible... and that's the best I can say of the endeavor. The people most eager to post seem to be angry about something (sort of like I am about my replies).

I thought this clip was great. There was just something about Graham Chapman... a daring quality, I think, to his humor.

  • Love these guys..

  • The fact that the German guy said that Germans don't have a sense of humour actually proved that they do.

  • 110 people didn't see the humor of it. They must be Germans with no sense of it.

  • This made me laugh, but I wouldn't say it's the best. It's not that much of a one liner, really...

  • @JamHam64 I thought it read more like a humorous anecdote. The fact that they actually did it and that it worked was the funniest part to me. I enjoy the risk-taking humor of Graham Chapman... It was the kind of thing you might think but don't say. I'm too chicken to enjoy a thing like that if I'm part of the joke, but Eric Idle has a way with a story.

  • That line also works to make Jehovah's witnesses to go away.

  • I toured D in the 1980's. My recollection of my impressions are summed up in one word: sanitized.

  • holy shit thats some nasty joke

  • First 6 seconds are the best.

For a second there I thought he was making a WW2 joke.

  • So fucking hilarious! Love you Pythons!

  • LOL XD

  • wut ever

  • Graham Chapman, you absolute legend. Years after your death and you're still making people laugh. RIP

  • Wait no I get it, my bad

  • That's Eric Idle fucknugget

  • @jackyj06 ...re-telling Grajam Chapman. You ought to read the description ;)

  • @Nervmichblossnet My mistake :P

  • @jackyj06 Never mind. At least I learned a new word (fuck nugget^^).

  • @Nervmichblossnet it be a good word :D

  • Graham was my favorite.

  • Well who were they to reject a well-established tradition in Dachau Camp of being a place for the Jews?

  • the oneliner is: you have no sense of humor!

  • For the uneducated: After the fall of Nazi Germany 4/45, and the rebuilding of the new democratic West German (FRG) government, it was illegal for any West German citizen to own any artifact from the Nazi party. In post WWII, the West Germans were so sensitive to anything related to that twelve year period, they, and Japan were the first countries to use "political sensitivity". That's why Hiroshima is now the birthplace of "peace". The brilliant Chapman played to the sensitivity of the FRG.
