God, there's just nothing as chill as the Darkside Album...fucking groovy, man! I've been diggin' on Mudmen too. There's a pretty cool video of it with nature and things. Very cool. Pink Floyd and Grateful Dead will forever be on the soundtrack of my life
There are 11 dislikes for this......I can't...I don't even know what that means. With all respect, hang yourselves. With elements of classical....rock....and a symbiotic melting of jazz and some other stuff, this song and album encompass everything and everyone. If you are not in, your out!
Watching this concert repeatedly with my dad growing up, it taught me how to be in awe - living fully present with the awareness of simplicity, truth, and passion. For that, I truly thank him, and Pink Floyd; they've really coaxed my true nature out.
saw them at the amsterdam rock circus in 72... was a great, all day event... they played around midnight i think, i remember fireworks when they played... & they played some "new stuff" from dsom, which hadn't come out yet.... i was about 12yo and was crazy for meddle & atom heart mother... but this new music was unbelievable!! anyone else at that concert?? i remember the stands sold fruit.. no junk food @ all... and everyone shared everything... a different time, an amazing band.
I am 54yrs of age, I was born & bred, in my little country down under New Zealand, I first heard Pink Floyd, when I was about 15yrs old, I have loved this group ever since, even with out Roger Waters, it's his sad loss, that he wanted to leave the band, I think David Gilmour has done wonders with this group, it's a pity that Richard Wright had passed away a few years ago, but this band will live on for ever.
I absolutely and without a doubt have always loved Pink Floyd!!! 1st time I've ever heard them was in 1969-70. I was about 12 or 13.I thought they were the greatest!!! And I still believe they the still are!!!
Each night during their 14 night stand at Earls Court, they would hold back thousands of tickets for show night, althought some were not the best seats, but at 15 pounds a night, a deal. got to see the last 3 nights
one of if not my fav Pink Floyd songs.... oh my god after all these years it still has the same affect on me.... this song take me to another world where the lads are my minders through the whole song..... outstanding!!!! as always!!! Love these men, they are gifted artists of the highest caliber... All my respect and admiration now and always!!!!!!!! x
We can thank Roger Waters for this amazing production! I read in an interview Gilmour didn't want all this high-tech lighting. Waters stated the concerts would be boring without it.
Saw Pink Floyd twice...'88 & '94...next to Genesis, the best concerts I have seen. For those who never had the chance to see Pink Floyd missed out on something which will never be duplicated!
hey, you guys, I just uploaded Pink Floyd`s Live London 1972 Dark Side Of The Moon Concert . A whole gig. though I broke it into 5 parts. If you wanna watch it, it`s on my channel and you can check it and enjoy! ;)
@goldenmatt101 yeah man I saw them in Harrisburg. Epic. Haha, that kangaroo was awesome. Did the cover Dogs? That was by far my favorite song from the show.
@gammaguy117 man, you are fucking Lucky, i think i would never see him performs live...but as well, I'm glad that a teen age like you likes the Floyds, because it means that the world could be saved. Thank you.
@diekontrolleure wtf? the point I was making that most people wouldn't be happy to die at 15, But because the concert was so awesome I would of been. why are there so many pricks on youtube? Do you seriously have nothing better to do with your time?
@diekontrolleure one such as myself really does question a 30 year old man's mental aptitude when he sends this to a 15 year old.
im not being funny but are you a genuine spastic? or were you bullied at school? or were you abused as a child? or is it because the only one whoever told you they love you was your dad..... when he was making you perform fellatio? or is it all of them?
@diekontrolleure I'm very sorry but because of your bone punctuation I cannot tell if that is a question or a statement. Please enlighten me, the 16 year old chap (that you previously threatened to rape and murder)
Hell of a light show, and of course the music. If only I had 4 acres and about mmm $10k. Plus a 32 foot projection screen which they used durring the tour. Course I would need a 24 channel DMX Mixer too,
best show on earth!!! but i dont no why they had an extra drummer and keyboarder, i can understand the backup guitar, but i think Nick and Rick were good enough to do it alone, but i guess they had their reasons.
@JEFFMM71 Ive always wondered that two, I can see the need for a second drummer on maybe time, but would Nick feel a little upset if the band felt he wasnt good enough to drum solo?
@JEFFMM71 Got a better sound with a percussionist and programmer. Lot of PF songs were multi-tracked. Need an extra musician to play those parts, Either have them tape recorded or not play them. Sounds better with those extra parts. Listen to PF before 78, sounds better now.
@JEFFMM71 Gilmour had a "stunt double" too. I watched this at least 20 times before i noticed the similarity in the addition of extra members. Deep down I think it was an invitation for Waters to show up. Eh, maybe not because this concert may have been too fun for him. cheers
Gary Wallis was added as a second percussionist to handle the auxiliary percussion and any additional drumming and Jon Carin was added on keyboards to allow all of Rick's overdubs to be played as on the records. :-)
@JEFFMM71 they needed 2 drummers and 2 keyboards simply because of the sound dynamics.. but u wouldnt understand that because u dont play in stadiums where some sound needs to be amplified more than another.. I think PINK FLOYD, after 35 years, would have their reasons as to why... u thinking they dont need x2 is tottaly ignorant
Live 8 with Roger doesn't hold a candle to this. I hate that they don't get along any more, but seems Dave, Nick, and Rick(RIP) did quite well without Roger.
Interesting; I ran into someone who claimed otherwise-but I think he's full of it. One of those people who never wish to let a band evolve. Pink Floyd is proof of evolution! lol
roger waters is a bum--period. the only man capable of taking rick's spot, in my opinion, is dennis deyoung (former keyboardist of styx), and any typical bass player could be able to take roger's place.
Dennis DeYoung could replace Rick Wright no problem as his playing reminds me of Rick and his use of synthesizers was phenomenal and his organ playing was not bad. Also a great singing voice and could harmonize with David but the sad reality is David Gilmour won't ever play in Pink Floyd again without Rick Wright. I'd love to see Gilmour and DeYoung form a supergroup and get John Deacon on bass guitar and either Neil Peart or (coax out of retirement) Phil Collins on drums.
agreed, except... i don't understand why everyone resorts to neil peart or phil collins on drums! they're great, but honestly, everything of theirs sounds the same to me. i don't do too much research, so i don't know the name, but the Eagles' percussionist from the Farewell tour at Melbourne could fill in comfortably in my opinion. you don't need any big name drummers to do an amazing job.
I think Scott Crago (The Eagles' percussionist since Don Henley became lazy ass after The Eagles' breakup to focus on standing in front of a microphone) absolutely SUCKS as a drummer. The Eagles died when Don Felder got FIRED IMHO. I think a DeYoung/Deacon/Gilmour/Peart/Rutherford, either that or Collins/ DeYoung/Gilmour/Greg Lake/Felder supergroup would work just as well IMHO.
i think the eagles became stronger and better when they fired felder (live anyways), not to mention they almost got rid of walsh for the same reasons (substance abuse). it wasn't stupid of them to do that. they had their priorities straight. but that's my own opinion as well. i was kinda liking crago's performance honestly, and IMHO, Pink Floyd wouldn't need a great drummer unless they were to do some stuff from umma gumma.

agreed, except... i don't understand why everyone resorts to neil peart or phil collins on drums! they're great, but honestly, everything of theirs sounds the same to me. i don't do too much research, so i don't know the name, but the Eagles' percussionist from the Farewell tour at Melbourne could fill in comfortably in my opinion. you don't need any big name drummers to do an amazing job.
