  • all you fucking idiots and the poster - NOTHING to do with Zeppelin per se AT ALL. it's for Plant's band prior to Zeppelin, The Band of Joy.

  • this gives the hendrix version a run for it's money. hendrix had the epic solo but this has far better vocals.

  • for that matter zeppelin played NO gigs of any kind 1974.

  • Jimi would be proud.I am and Led Zeppelin would be the only band who could pull this off.Jimmy Page+Jimi Hendrix= guitar god's..

  • Wow! Thanks.

  • Fuckin' AWESOME !!

  • Great rare find....

  • Holly shit Batman that is just one f#cking incredible version of that epic track, if only the vid was live :-)

  • SOUNDS LIKE A JAM THEY JUST HAPPENED TO RECORD AND PRESERVE

  • That's fuckin what it's all about !

  • Love blues zeppelin

  • Oh my fucking GOD...!!

  • led zeppelin the BEST BAND EVER sod you all but still the best LIVE ON

  • Great solo !!

  • Cool cut but not Zeppelin. The biggest tell (if the guitar isn't enough) is Plant's voice which was well on its way to being shot by '74.

  • @bittwise So you don't like Plant's voice on Physical Graffiti? Or Raising Sand? I mean, it's all subjective of course :)

  • @Sackvilleboys It was an observation from hearing bootlegs from live shows from '68 on up. It's not a question of whether or not I like the voice it's a question of his range and power. The vocalst match his performances in '68 and '69. Zeppelin toured a lot during their first few years and the wear and tear was very telling from Plant's performances- particularly after '71 and '72. There's absolutely no way that Plant could have delivered the power in this clip in '74.

  • É pq vc nunca ouviu Deep Purple com atenção...

  • 37 people don't know a shit about stage rock.

  • Who knew, I didn't, so fucking awesome!

  • No evryomne is rong it is jimi hendricks on vocalz u are all coplrete idiot!!!!

  • No way it's 1974. We lost Plant, we lost the rock's most powerful voice 1971 or maybe in 1972.

  • @magnoliapugana

Spot on... didn't see this when I commented earlier but you hit the nail on the head

  • Fag central.

  • WOW !!! but then L Z is Always...WOW

    search YouTube "I B E W drummer" 8 vid's

& "SOS who do YOU call" GOD or Satan

  • perfect vocals from plant but this isnt led

    and the original is better

  • Voice of Plant in Hey Joe! Perfect!

  • One of the greatest vocalists alive today-the power in that voice-this track is on the double CD Sixty Six to Timbuktu and also a good version of For what it's Worth.

  • Has anybody heard The Leaves version of this song. It's pre Hendrix.

  • wouaaaowww... what a voice! what a lead guitarist ! what a bass! what a drumer! what a mountain of talent ! what a sea of feelings!! magic Zeppelin.

  • Great Version..

  • Nossa!!!!!!!!!!!! Bom demais!!!

  • Band Of Joy, late 1967.

    Robert Plant- vocals

    John Bonham- drums

    Paul Locky-bass

    Chris Brown- keyboards

Kevyn Gammond (aka Carlisle Egypt) on guitar.

    That about covers it...

  • @dickeye58 Thanks for posting this information...

  • @Diosprometheus Interesting how the copy Hendrix's version which slowed down the tempo from the earlier version other garage bands had done. It even has the same bass line he used.

  • it is not LED ZEPPELIN.it's BAND OF JOY...1967..only ROBERT PLANT AND JOHN BONHAM OF LED ZEPPELIN...!

  • poor audio!!

  • thats not Page's tone, thats not his solo structure either.

  • Band of Joy'll do me, as long as i don't get rickrolled!

  • This is not Led Zeppelin, this Band of Joy's version of the song recorded in 1968...google it motherfuckers!

  • but page is playing lead guitar.

  • The Band of Joy (also known as Robert Plant and the Band of Joy) are a rock band from England. Various lineups of the group performed from 1965 to 1968 and from 1977 to 1983. Robert Plant revived the band's name in 2010 for a concert tour of the United States and Europe.

The band is notable for including two musicians, Robert Plant and John Bonham,[1] who went on to join Led Zeppelin; and, to a lesser degree, because the band's one-time roadie was Noddy Holder, who later was in the band Slade.

  • @MrPetitfantome In september 2010, as a result of the revive, Plant recorded an album by the band's name - very good, by the way!

  • *known*

  • This is "Band of joy" and they're doing a cover of Jimi's interpretation of the song "Hey Joe",originally written by an L.A. band,"The Leaves".Although the first know commercial recording of the song belongs to "The Leaves",it is however unclear if it is really written by them.It is possible that the song is just a popular american folk song.Nevertheless,it the most widely known version is the one by the "Jimi Hendrix Experience".

  • BUENO BUENISSIMO LOS AMOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

  • WHAT MORON POSTED THIS ABSOLUTE GARBAGE

  • i never seen more male camel toes on a video. In fact i didnt even know they existed. Im gonna be sick now....., and dude this recording sucks, robert plant's camel toe!

  • It's demo version recorded by the Band of Joy in 1968 with Robert Plant on vocals - it was released in 2003 on his album Sixty Six to Timbuktu, disc II.

    But anyway - I prefer Jimi's interpretation ;)

  • @omertahistoriamafii they do a good job of it. Band of Joy, eh!

  • GUESS WHO

  • The cough at 1:50 tripped my shit out seriously

  • so half of led zeppelin then

  • Maybe someone doesn't know that BAND OF JOY was Robert Plant's first band....

  • @AgentChristian Yes, its from 1967. Good call!

  • hey joy is not a hendrix song !!

é do Billy Roberts...

  • THIS WAS THE LED ZEPPELIN

    UNFORGETTABLE

  • es the band of joy y no led zeppelin mentiroso de mierda

Ja pensou eles fazendo louvor a Deus!!

  • And HEy joe is not a jimmi hendrix song :P Fail post but excelent performance :D. Robert plant <3

  • Jimmy Page is not playing the guitar in this song!!!!

  • @zepfan1919 Who is???

  • thats not led zeppelin

  • In English - the words are FRAUD - FAKE - RIP_OFF - BOGUS - FALSE_LABEL

  • This is not Led Zeppelin, it's Band of Joy.

  • @FormagePiki Why do you think this is Robert Plant's & John Bonham's group "The Band Of Joy". They were from 1965 to 1968. This was recorded in 1974. I don't mean it nasty, I am just curious as to the clues you get that this is not Zeppelin.

  • @deeapril its BOJ . believe that

  • @deeapril Listen to the cd "Pre-Flight". this is not Jimmy Page

  • @FormagePiki I'll listen to Pre-flight, but i never thought it was Page.

  • @FormagePiki They do need to change the Ttitle of this and give credit where its due.

  • @FormagePiki this is zeppelin, not pussy BOJ

  • @FormagePiki That's what I thought.

  • so é a melhor banda . só

  • 4:19 - Morocco !

  • It would have been nice to her Page's take on this song and comapare it to Hendrix. If anyone has claim over Page as a better guitarist it might be Hendrix. Although IMO no one can touch Page...certainly not Clapton!!!

  • E-ee-eee Ha!

  • this is Nnnnnnnnot from 67

  • Thanks for posting

  • 16 people do not understand music

  • Nobody "like" anymore because the number is just right.

  • long time zep fan first time I've heard this, excellent upload

  • damn...30 years of being a Zeppelin fan and I have never heard this before....excellent upload!!

  • @TheRamsesII because it ain't...it's Band of Joy....Robert Plant on vocals and John Bonham on drums!

  • amazing energy

  • This is not Led Zeppelin. It is one of the first recordings of Robert Plant, 1967 I think, as a soloist. I love this version with Robert in the vocal flatness.

  • i can't believe i've never heard this.

  • you should say that song starts late,i thought that something is wrong with my comp

  • Band Of Joy, change the title.

  • These guys were a GODDAMN gifted group of individuals who were one!

  • I love Robert Plants voice

  • Led Zep puts their stamp on a great song. This is pure vintage Zeppelin. Page's tone is fantastic and the dynamics are all there.

  • @jimdep1 except its not Page. This isn't Zep, it's Band of Joy

  • This was recorded as a demo only from 67-68 by the Band Of Joy. It's Plant's vocal's and Bonham on drum's as he was in the 67 & 68 Band Of Joy line-up.

  • This is Plants Birmingham Band Before Zeppelin called Band of Joy ....Bonham was on Drums....there was a guy called Kevin Garamond....and some one with alias "Carlise Egypt"

  • wow wow wow,,,,,don´t need to take drugs ,,this is real HEROIN!! ,,,it blows me away,,,thank you for this vid,,,

  • jimi havia gostado

  • that voice cant be from 74,jimmy page sounds good,so this got 2be mabybe from 69' or 68 in some club

  • @jokkergar nice call!! see above. 67 68 his voice and interpretation of a song that hendrix pretty much owned does sound just fucking awesome.

  • Fuckin' epic. Keep on runnin Joe

  • true rock n roll will never never die

  • Definetly not Jimmy Page, you can tell by the lead run, not his signature guitar sound. This is Plant around 1968. Probaly before Zeppelin.

  • @Bumble8700 Are you sure? Maybe it's him with the Telecaster or something, he used it a bit on the first Zeppelin tour... I don't know, but I reckon it's Bonzo on drums, and I don't reckon he recorded much with BOJ... is it an outake from those BBC sessions or something? What do you think?

  • @astonbrock Yeah pretty sure, Plants voice is really young, definetly not 1974. Bonham for sure he was in BOJ, the record sounds very scratchy, but good.

  • @astonbrock It is official its Band of Joy 1967 with Dave Pegg on guitar and Bonham on drums. You can find it on 66 to Timbuktu, Robert Plants greatest hits album.

  • @astonbrock Its Dave Pegg on guitar, off Robert Plants 66 to Timbuktu album.

  • NICE PICTURES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • In fact, I see it *is* Band Of Joy. Don't have Timbuktu & ain't heard Band Of Joy bootleg in decades.

  • But it's Zep, yes. Not that Band Of Joy wasn't this groovy-sounding just prior with Bonham going at it, there.

  • Not 1974, oblivious even of guitar. I listened to this prior to YouTube era and have the audio on bootleg. The boot isn't dated, but Plant's tonsils were absent by the time of Houses Of The Holy, after which he refused to stress through frequent higher notes as in '73 tour. This song, by his voice & Jonesy's organ, is clearly late '68 or early '69. Plant still sounds as if he's recording for CBS. Possibly, from New Yardbirds' last bit. Don't recall precisely..

  • @regperron agree, this is a young Robert Plant. sound like 69...and Page didn't sound like that by 73-74. I'm actually thinking thats not Page either. Sounds nothing like him...I think this is Band of Joy. Who I know did this song. I've read nearly all the Zep set lists, never saw this.

  • Not Zeppelin. Jimmy Page wasn't playing a strat in 74

  • i love Zep and Jimi Hendrix

  • y así no toca Page

  • esa no es la voz de Plant en 1974

  • Not Zeppelin, It's Robert Plant from his Sixty Six to Timbuktu CD, There is no Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones, or John Bonham in this song, Look it up

  • @jfwfla you're right this not zeppelin

  • @kahlan4182 I know, I have the CD, It's a 2 disc set and it's pretty good, It's Robert Plant before Zeppelin, Sixty Six to Timbuktu, It does have some good tracks on it.

  • ... the guy's maybe 20 with pipes like that ... incredible.

  • MAGNiFiCO! ,':oD

  • a voz do robert plant parte tudo ! magnifico !!!

  • original band of joy

  • yes its band of joy

  • Wow. I've never seen anyone lie on a You Tube title before. ;-)

  • This is, as has been said, The Band of Joy from 1967.

Think about it for a sec - would Plant have been able to sing this well if it WAS in 1974? Seriously doubt it; his voice was wrecked from the end of '72 on.

  • @DemonLobster Your on drugs mate.. His voice was wrecked ? Some of Plant's greatest work was post 72 ! The Song Remains The Same live album/movie contains some of Plant's most mesmerizing vocal work and albums like Houses of the Holy, Physical Graffiti, Presence and In Through the Out Door all contain signature Robert Plant mate.. Sort your life out

  • @DemonLobster Wrecked? Your whacked, Some of his best material came out well after 1972

  • Further more if it was the original band of Joy, what is their importance? We know who the drummer and lead singer are. Who played lead lead guitar in this band? Bass? Was a rythm guitar there?

  • I can't critique this my friend....this is Zeppelin I have not heard before! Hendrix did it ,Deep purple copied, rolling stones have a version?

  • Retard why all the pics of Jones and Page who aren't even on this record?

  • When Plant sings 'Baby' in the chorus, it throws the legitimacy regarding the song being 74 b/c it sounds too deep. In 74 Plant was very 'whinny' and high pitched, but then again it could be because this video is poorly remastered, which please don't hold as an insult.

But nonetheless, the vocals in this song doesn't matter as much b/c this song is a guitar-awe-song. Page did a brilliant job, but nothing beats the original Hendrix 'teething' or not this song.

  • i know that is not jimmy page playing guitar..but i love that playing guitar.

  • Im goin way down south & Hide behind the Sun- - - Bang Bang Bang

  • sos un estupido esto es The Band of Joy en el 1968 con Plant

  • this is Band Of Joy. Plant and Bonham were in the band of joy before zeppelin.

  • What a-hole clicks the dis like button. 6 people named Joe that should of got shot. Instead of the ol lady.

  • @justicerevenge777 I do too :D

    weird o.o

  • Was that Mick Strode on the guitar or a session musician for the demo? It has a nice blues feel with cool rythm tone

  • @ rising son, yes, Steve Marriott was the MAN!!!

Humble Pie "EAT IT " is my favorite album EVER,

and most of the Small Faces stuff-
