these guys are amazing playing on a button style accordion! I own a piano and button accordions and wish I practiced more on the button! I've played this piece on the piano and its amazing and fun to play but can't imagine playing this on the button! Oh well I'm currently challenging myself learning the harmonica, if I ever get the chance maybe violin again or find a cheap decent guitar ;) or banjo for kicks :-D

The instruments they are playing are not accordions they are Bayans (Bayan). It has bottons on both sides no keys. It is amazing what they are able to pull off! Respect!

bayans are a lot better than accordions and many Russian players have conservatory degrees...

this repertoire and appearance is typical

Correction: the баян originated in Ukraine and spread to different corners of Eastern and Central Europe. In fact, the biggest баян factory in the world is located in Zhytomyr, Ukraine. Look it up!!

iraklinet, I heard Bach fugue played on accordeon in Zakopane (in Polish Tatra Mountains), it was incredible. There are so many wonderful musicians in Poland. I know the exact spot in Krakow where they are playing this. Krakow is so beautiful!

In my humble opinion the best accordian player in the world is Nils Lindell inheriting the throne from father Carl, unfortunately to my knowledge he has not made a single public performance since the seventies.

It is cruel and unbeleivable that his body of work and interpretations has failed to be recorded for coming generations other than those of some cassette deck tapes floating around... =/

Wonderful playing. Memorizing the entire Bach prelude is quite a feat, and one seldom sees accomplished button accordion playing - these folks didn't learn on a piano keyboard, but directly on the button accordion.

I've posted eight accordions dancing Russian Quadrilles which is not as accomplised but perhaps more amusing.
