Hello there. Deep sea salvage Tug Ocean Force - Calling. It's late and pitch Black outside. Engineer Tom & second Mate Dutch watching utube on lap-top. We found your video on talking yank. You talk funny and we like your Air-screw Fan behind your left lughole. Our Ben the 1st Mate aboard Ocean Force is a Michigan boy. We watched your video and went to our Ben. He said we were Sh1T and sounded crap. PS. We all like your beard! Ocean Force out.
what the fucking point on this, if you cut all your bull shit down its only 20 seconds long, and why have the music in the background when we are ment to hear your voice.
Several courses in linguistics should disabuse you of the misconceptions you seem to have about American and British English dialects and the French language.
yes there is a boston accent. east coast people sound much different than west coast people, but i assume we all sound the same to non-americans...african english doesnt exist. black (english) vernacular isnt politically correct. people pick up the accent of their environment. whether its hood, country, suburban, or city.
Actually, most of the white people in South Africa are of Dutch descent, and almost all of them speak English. The majority of people in South Africa who speak English are, of course, black.
African English is a very vague term. But yes, it does exist, with regional variants across the continent, mostly in the former British colonies (too many to list). Most speak in an accent unique to their continent, but the actual language is usually closer to British than American English
@Tahabileya There are tons of American accents. From New England to Brooklyn, "Jewish", Jersey, Southern, Midwestern, Texan, the list goes on. The Midwestern has the correct pronunciation. Cah-Boston Car-Midwest. There is no "Black English" that is just a group of people speaking incorrectly. I.E. Hello, what are you doing? Yo, what up homie? Remember the most important thing to know about accents is their rhythm.
I can sound very american (Boston accent) I've lived in US for 2 months now. So I'm picking it up everyday. My mum and dad hardly know its me on the phone now. Because the old accent has almost gone outta the window. I love US! I'm proud to be a United States resident. I still class myself as british though.

The African English you're talking about might exist in South Africa among the people of British descent. I know it does not exist in America.
And yes, a Boston accent is an accent specific to the city of Boston and the surrounding areas. New York accents are similar, but not the same.

hunter00000000000014 3 years ago
i could help you, but you'd have to be more specific. cartoons don't have a set accent - give me a character or a show

THey use an "standard pronunciation" and it's called "General American" (GenAm) this standard is used by media (tv news and so on)
