The only permanant fix to a RROD or YLOD is to have the CPU and GPU on the motherboard reballed. Don't have your system reflowed, or do the towel trick, or penny trick, or whatever else is out there. If by luck it did fix your console, it's only temporary and doing even more damage to your console. Maybe you got more white lithium grease between the heatsink and the chip, the right amount!!!!!!!! I once had an old VW Jetta with the ECU going dead. When I replaced it, one of the mount bolts was loose to the giant heatsink. I feel they were playing nasty games to create more sales estimating that it would still last long somewhat. I used regular lithium grease for the next ECU.

Umm, it`s not lithium grease it`s thermal paste for conducting heat away from the chips to the heatsinks, I wouldn`t recommend using any kind of grease between the cpu/gpu and heatsinks

Because your xbox will be out of its warranty. the only thing they fix for free outside of the warranty is the three red lights and maybes one other processor or over heating problem.

what you need to do is open it granted your warranty is dead now, and take out the disk drive. there are 4 phillips screws that need to be taken out then you can open the dirve fully. look at the the disk reader, take a Q-tip or cotton swab and gently clean the reader BE VERY GENTLE. like use a little bit of alcahol or your breath as if you were cleaning the glasses. message me for more details if needed.

yea ok i knew how to do that but the problem is my xbox dos not read the disc and there was alout of dust in there so i cleaned it with air. and after i put every thing back on and try it it still doing like theres no game it it at all i try all of my games to. i can go every where on the dashboard and play my demos and arcade games. so do you know whats wrong with my xbox?

You shouldn't have sprayed the can of air into it because the air still has a little bit of moisture in it. What I would do is just buy a new DVD drive and it should work perfectly.

if you still need help after you open your 360 and take out the disc drive you should see two bolts in front of the laser and if you slightly unscrew the left one it should work

Don't worry; all of the new generations of Xbox's shouldn't get the red right of death. Three red rings means that there is a hardware failure, and four red rings means that the Xbox cannot detect the AV cable, so plug every thing in tightly. Even though the three red rings is frightening (yes it has happened to me several times now on the same Xbox) it is fixable with some equipment.
