They're there so that people who might never have the chance to go to Australia can see the beauty of a kangaroo first hand. That goes for every other animal in the zoo. I doubt I'll ever go to Africa, but I got to see a tiger up close thanks to a zoo. It's not like they're any better off in the wild than they are in the zoo. They're fed everyday and kept away from predators.

ok so they are in an enclosure so that ppl can stand in awe.that is lame!! sure SOME animals are better off in the zoo but roo's are completely different since they arnt tht low on the food chain. the only danger to them are dingos and hunters. that isnt a decent enough excuse to be lockd away in a zoo. their fate shouldn't be decided for them.how wod u like it if someone fed you evryday and you could never live your life to the full.

its called independence, nd animals deserve tht right too.

I'd rather be in a zoo than mauled by a dingo. Plus, some of captive animals there were rescued from death and nursed back to health. That cannot be restored to the wild. I know a few there, my mother is a zoologist .
