good to see alot of young people at this concert..was walking down legion st in bali..indonesia..and this song was coming out of a bar..i was dancin in the street..us old rockers never die...ps waiting for them to come to australia
I have seen Steve Miller, maybe 6 or 7 times and allways try to pay extra to get up front. Steve Miller is one of those where everytime I go, someone by me is allways saying, Oh I know this one, I didnt know he did this, I love this song, he has many songs to his credit. I heard young kids, say wow, they really likes the show. Do your self a favor, see Steve Miller in concert, he has alot of good songs
@Lekecity Think of it though. Still, with REALITY, money talks. I have seen in the news in the past few years, rock bands have made it in the top 10 money makers. Bands like Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, The Rolling Stones, The Police, The Eagles, Pink Floyd, Aerosmith, U2, Bruce Springsteen still make money in Live concerts. The highest grossing band was The Rolling Stones that I have seen in the news with $1.7 billion. U2 made $1 billion in concert sales and Bruce Springsteen $605 million.
I wish I had been at this concert. Fantastic! Band was great, harmony was on the money, looked like a blast. Love the killer low B string on Billy's Lakland bass. That huge bottom end adds a dimension to the song that is simply off the chart..
I drove from the interior b.c. canada to vancouver b.c canada and listened to steve millers greatest hits all the way excellent video in H.D, even better good to see he looks well great artist Les would be happy
a boy I had a crush on whose name is also Steve turned me on to Steve Miller, in fact I bought him one of his LP's as a surprise birthday gift...great song. It reminds me of those days. also loved the artwork on that LP
@paintballer1231 dude im younger than you and i totally agree with you this rap crap that ppl listen 2 today is not nearly as good as this old classic rock.
I watched the dvd not long ago and i was thinking ,i wonder how many people know anything about his music other then the hits. I see these people in the crowd and i was thinking, Have they ever heard of Brave New World, or # 6. Or is it just the hits they know.
STEVE HAS ALWAYS BEEN ONE OF MY FAVORITES. I REMEMBER ONE DAY AS I WAS LAYING ON THE SOFA AND HE WAS RECORDING. I SAID STEVE YOU OUGHT TO MAKE A RECORD. I WAS JUST A KID THEN, IT'S A LITTLE STRANGE TO HAVE KNOWN HIM YEARS AGO SO CLOSE TO SEE HIM SO MUCH OF A LEGEND NOW. WHAT A GUY, EVEN THOUGH HIS FAMILY WAS SUPER WEALTHY HE STILL PAID HIS DUES AND STRUGGLED SOME CLIMBING THE LATER. BUT IT'S STILL NICE TO HAVE A FEW MILLION TO RECORD IN THE NICE STUDIOS AND HIRE THE BEST ENGINEERS. GO STEVE
I think it sounds cheezy.........and I dont know if it's the original drummer but he is not using the china cymbal like it was in the original which is huge to the song in my opinion.....sounds like crap imo. :(
@stevo0476 thank you, that was the point i was trying to make, hes gettin up there, and doesnt really got the lungs he used to, then some douchebag started saying ill never make it to that age cause someone will kill me first, lol.
Very true, Metal! I saw Steve about a year ago to a packed house of about 5,000. At least half of them were in their teens or very early 20's having a great time. Great music always stands the test of time and transcends generations. Steve was amazing!!
Yes, good music has not age limit. It's not the age but the music that's universal. It transcends generations. One good thing about Classic Rock music , unlike RAP crap, it is still enjoyable to see even older guys playing them live in concert. Can you imagine someone like 50 cent or any of those other rappers at 55 yrs or 60 yrs old? How do you think they would look on stage, trying to incite the crowd without a shirt, with their flabby bellys, sagging chest muscles and wrinkly arms? LOL
Sorry I meant, good music has NO age limit and has no age boundaries. It appeals to people of all ages and it transcends generations. Isn't that why Bach, Strauss, Beethoven, Mozart still appeals to a lot of people even after centuries passed?
@sixstring9 Well, think of it and imagine it in your head. 20 - 30 yrs down the road from now, where are all the RAP stars? What will they look like at 50 - 60 yrs old? Are they still going to attract the kind of crowd they have and sell albums? Robin Trower is over 60 yrs old. The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, AC/DC, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, Van Halen etc still rock today and they make a lot of money during their concert tours. And those guys are past 50 yrs old.
What other good choices are there today anyways? RAP? 50 cent? nyahahahaha THUG MUSIC? hahahahaha Old time rock / Hard Rock / Blues / Metal / Prog Rock are the only ones that are decent enought to listen unless you like that RAP CRAP CLAP TRAP
The song is a made out of 3 chords. The way they use these chords is brilliant. A good song does not have to be complex. That's the genius of steve miller if you like it or not
@stevo0476 yea because he was probably so blasted out of his mind when he wrote this song that he kept it simple so he could remember it easy, but it sounds amazing!!! Going to the June 12th concert in AC! SEE YOU THERE!!!

I remember an article on Entertainment Tonight.
They interviewed Steve,an "Old Man" of Rock, and asked how much longer he was going to carry on,and he answered "as long as its still fun" .
Steve was 43 at the time, the same age I am now,and I'm thinking 43 is nothing!.
Maybe they should ask him the same question when he's 80,but they will probably get the same answer!.
