  • Reminds me of the oscillator circuit from a Radio Shack "Science Fair" Electronics Project Kit....

  • You might want to do a search for "Novachord Video" - this is a presentation of a partially restored 72 year old Novachord in action - a 1/4 ton, 163 tube monster with 72 note polyphony, a VCA on every key with central ADR envelope control, filters and a 6 channel vibrato system - it cost $1850 in 1939

  • creepy!

  • sounds like when an old toy car runs out of batteries

  • Hi, Jerry AG! Impressive... I have an own radio show for Indian Electronics ( w w w . imcradio . net / electronics ) and actually preparing a show about Electronics in germany.... so I feel over all this material of Trautonium, Oskar Sala, Harald Genzmer. You write, that you sold it.... Do you know how many Trautoniums came onto the market ? - Ciao from Europe/North Germany, Hamburg... - ElJay.

  • Thank you for demonstrating this cool vintage machine!

  • Well, it has been a long way from the first electronically generated waves to our modern keyboards!

  • Great video!

  • Well that was interesting.

  • This thing has a great sound. But I really wish someone would upload a video where they actually play a song on it. All of the videos of weird electronic instruments (except theremin) are just people making playing random tones.

  • Nice instrument.

  • i would like this playing at my funeral. How awesomely awkward would that be!

  • hahahahahha rock on

  • @wanabe ROFL!!

  • Sounds very Commodore64ish

  • Dr Trautwain would be proud!

  • theres no keyboard?

  • probably not

  • No, there s no keyboard. The trautonium is one of worlds first electronical music instruments, invented in the early 1920s by Dr. Max Trautwein. It works with sites - very near to that ones uses e.g. in electrical quitars. Lot of experts see the Trautonium as the initial for the (Moog) Synthesizer.

  • The first synth XD

  • What an odd instrument!

  • Soothing.

  • indeed

  • OMG, is this the Trautonium from 1928?? Great stuff dude. Funny noises.
