The Hermetica was indeed written in the 1st century AD (the Greek grammar used can be traced to that time), but the wisdom tradition it reflects can be traced to a much more ancient origin. The scribes in Alexandria simply put into words the wisdom that had been passed down from antiquity. Therefore, The Hermetica is not older than Moses, but Hermeticism is.
