What happened to the baby. I feel sorry for her but if a cop came by she would have been arrested and the baby taken. That's the law in Texas and I've seen it done. as a mom of 2 boys home during the day a man I had known for years and was friends with my husband, broke into my house with a knife and tried to kill my family. This never got news and I dont care to see it get any, I am luckily and wisely a gun owner, I didnt even think of anything but to protect my children and was ready to die at that moment for them. Parents can't realistically be expected to wake a child, unstrap it from a carseat, wrap it in blankets, and tote it around every single time they leave a vehicle for a few moments, repeating that process in reverse when finished. Any person who says they've always done so is an outright liar. There will always be moments (pumping gas, etc) when you're outside a vehicle while a child is inside.

Three feet (pumping gas) or thirty (inside paying for that gas) wouldn't make all that much difference. In the incident shown in this video, for example, the woman had no chance of defending her child in either situation.
As for specifically watching the child (injury, etc), parents often leave a child alone inside a room of their home for equal or longer periods while doing chores or whatever. No realistic reason not to do the same with a locked vehicle (noting temps, etc).

The car could get stolen, the car could roll off somewhere, or the child's parent cudv died and the baby wud be locked in the car in heat or freezing cold. Thats the problem really, you really dont know what could happen, and its all a matter of do you want to take the chance, and are u prepared to take responsibility of the results
