  • The girl has a great voice but nothing irresistable about her which is no big deal considering it's a high school production. She just hasn't matured enough to add the sizzle..or maybe because it was school they wouldn't let her. Joe was stiff as a board.

  • That was wonderful!!!! Beautiful voice Lola, and the guy at the end was dynamic and funny =)

  • Fabulous costumes, and she's an amazing singer/actress. A few problems, though:

Joe's not supposed to be involved in it at all, and he should have more clothes on. There's a line right before he meets Lola about how he needs to get his pants on. Also, Lola's accent seemed to be missing. And a red wig to emulate Verdon...? Lola has black hair in the novel the musical is based on.

I do really love it, though. I'm guessing this girl is 17 now? That's how old I was when I played Lola at my hs. =]

  • And Applegate stole the scene, I guess I should say, since this isn't the whole show. But that was hilarious.

  • Great job the split thing was perfect

  • We are going to be doing this musical this fall at my high school....

I'm aiming for Lola, her character called out to me eve since i heard her name.

    :)

Nice vocals with this lola though!

  • this is so good!! we just did this play at spms :D

  • we just did this musical at spms~ x3

  • Please join USA THEATER and or FLORIDA THEATER on facebook

  • loved it great job!

  • This is amazing. Both characters are perfect for their roles, and Lola's voice and acting is absolutely stunning. The choreography was a little to be desired, though.

  • The dance was good and definetely bold, and the girl is good but the guy playin joe is horrific. there is no emotion or feeling in his performance at all....he's boring

  • hahah dood

    in my school

lola starts stripping slowwing as the song goes on

  • Loved it - I want to know how your school got away with having Joe so naked. I direct for a school and the reason we did not do this show was because of this scene.

  • i saw this play and i think allie as lola was ahmazing. this was my favorite part in the whole play my friend and i still go around screaming "lola wants what lola gets" lol.cant wait till the next play at sphs

  • This is great! Definitely the best one I've seen on here! We are doing Damn Yankees for our RAAC play...I'm trying out for the part of Lola...do you have any suggestions as to playing the part of Lola?

  • no offence but the one i went to today was a hell of alot better and it was also a highschool catholic hughscool to be exact

  • a thanks goes out 2 all who participated n this skit. i really enjoyd watchin it. the different costumes put more 2 lola's character an the chick that playd her had a wonderful voice. who ever workd on lights that nite needed more practice tho....but anywho, good job an good luck 4 future performances.

  • thanks for all the comment i've just read-- are u guys doing damn yankees as well?? for high school?

  • i was n damn yankees a few months ago (may i think) as "ms." welch. it was 4 my high school.i had 2 put n 1 last performance b4 i graduated

  • I liked this a lot. Yes, it's a HS production, but Allie's voice, the costumes (quite daring for HS), the sets, the lighting, even the guy at the end (love the bit at 5:25) were very good.

I'm surprised to read Allie was just 15; she has a big, mature voice and I look forward to hearing more from her.

  • Lola is suppossed to be able to dance superbly well. Casting director? What happened? Actress? Why didn't you prepare for the role?

  • whoah there cali-- this is just a high school play/musical lol-- aint no broadway-- and she is only 15yo--

  • exactly, its not sopposed to be broadway perfect.

besides, this is pretty dang good for a high school

  • @heldergurgel2005 doesn't matter. I'm in a production of this. even if her voice is beautiful (and it is) if you can't act, people will leave. A musical is a PLAY first. Music come second.

  • I remeber when I was there!

On the first night, Bryon's face was so upclose to Allie's (blank)

  • First off the bat, He should be alittle more masculine, unfortunatly he isn't giving off the studly character he should, more assertive, deeper voice, square movements.

Now Lola should hold the sound without it getting away from you though counterwise don't strain, make it a fluid sound from the apperatus.

Nice Costume, a pretty good pit, and some great chero sometimes, could use some work though.

But for a highschool, it is pretty dang good! lol

  • Yes it it!

At least it's better and sexier than the film in the singing and creativity.
