May I enquire as to how a sound clip from a sci-fi movie (which I unfortunately haven't seen yet, by the the way) turned into a debate about the Bible and Mayan calendars?
Oh thank Jesus someone who doesn't call me a fucktart for making a mistake. It was a foolish choice I made for trying to sound smart and talking gibberish about something I had no idea about.
Mayans stated the start of a new era, may meaning "the end of the world" to some. They dated all movements of the moon , and more, which are still correct to this day. They planned out everything that would happen in the universe, before the telescope was even in the ideas of the minds of the people. They were the smartest civilization to this day. Yet, no one knows what ever happened to them, since there is no evidence of their death. Maybe they found out something they weren't supposed to.
and we all know how often the bible has been correct..
The Mayan calander did not work like our calenders.. it was more like a pedometer.. one section goes on for a certain time and resets, clicking the next section up one.. December 21, 2012 is the point in which all sections simultaneously reset to a new cycle. They did this to indicate "a great change" noone knows what the change is.

in life there are cycles and the mayans marked december as the end of a new cycle and some ppl thought it meant the end of the world

I totally agree man! Its a calender! And It is a myth plus how can they predict the end of the world its just a calender. Greagorrius has a point!

yep.. 2012... why 2012? cuz the mayan calendar just randomly ends like may 2012 and the mayan clendar is very very accurate
