I really like how the game put a lot of interaction like...you dont just apear putside with pual and sam...but they walk out and you follow...also how you can come and out of rooms...just an amazing game...five minutes and i was hooked

This game could be played in a lot less time than this person. There are lots of shortcuts and alleys to take to reach destinations throughout the city.

" the defining characteristic of a longplay is that FEW SHORTCUTS, if any are taken." so yeah he is doing what a longplays are. check your facts nextime.

I actually did check that beforehand, you just didn't read my last post well enough. Longplay's usually refer to plot. Going by your implication a longplay of Mafia would mean going down every single street in the city on every mission. Does he do that? No. Why? Because that's not what longplay's refer to.

going by my definition i would say he only should go down the direct streets to the mission and that means no alleys or shortcuts. i didnt say you were wrong about the plot part but you also have to avoid using shortcuts during missions

If it's big enough for a car then I would argue that the creators of the game put it in to be used in that way, from that point of view they are not shortcuts.
