  • john list was the name of the "real" stepfather

  • Fucking awesome whistling!!!!

  • Jeez how creepy :o

  • was this a true story? i heard it was. if so, what was the stepfather's real name i wonder?

  • the tepfather before cleaning up looked like matt hoper from jaws lol

  • The original is a fully-fledged 80's classic, forget the remake, it lacks wholesome nude scenes and good 'ol family values, trust me:"Father knows best."

  • He had good values,he was just....really screwed up....

  • @hjb103055: I went to the website blinkx.com and could find only excerpts and reviews of the movie. I did not see any way to access the entire movie. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for your help!

  • Gave himself a nice haircut with that scissors

  • that sounded like creepshow at the end

  • u dont think they noticed the mirror?

  • man this guy must save tonnes of money by cutting his own hair.

  • @ahrensgay oooooooh ark at her ya big queen !!!! That's the campist hissy fit I've seen since elton john lost his lipstick up his husbands arsehole !!! You need to turn it down abit precilla you arse bandit xxxx

  • Wow what a cute tush !! They should rename that movie "buns of steel"

  • I guess his family -puts on sunglasses- didn't make the cut...

  • @ace125koo YEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAHHH

  • awwww did we really have to see his marsh mellow ass 1:07

  • i bet he had an anoying family ..

  • well this looks alot more intense than the remake.

  • @WalksBehindTheRose It is. It's the kind of movie you can watch over and over again when you want to watch something, but, you can't concentrate. Does that make sense? If you want to watch The Stepfather go to blinkx.com. Youtube takes movies off of here because of the copywrite thing, but, blinkx doesn't. So go there to watch Stepfather. A lot of times you can watch the part of a movie that youtube has deleted or shut of the sound.

  • @hjb103055 oh thanks, yeah ill check this out, looks really good.

  • @WalksBehindTheRose I forgot to tell you that after 70 something minutes it stops and tells you to come back in 54 minutes. I think they want you to buy something that will let you watch as long as you want. But, I've got no problem waiting 54 minutes for free movies.

  • @WalksBehindTheRose Oh and one more thing. Google this:

John List - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

  • looks like they had one heck of a party

  • ehhh this one

    seems more violent

    then the remake i liked

the remake so id probably like

    this one

  • He wanted the perfect family...and they just didnt measure up.

  • @jimmah1967 i don't understand that..no family is perfect

  • Classic classy film with probably THE best opening sequence ever! The new will be ignored by myself and other fans :)

  • Comment removed

  • There's only one thing to do when your family disappoints you.........

  • I wonder would he kill his own biological children if they don't live up to his expectations

  • My grandfather rented this way back when it first came out by accident (it was supposed to be a kids movie but was in the wrong case), brought it home and popped it in for my brother and I and promptly left the room.

Yeah, lets just say we spent a few days sleeping in our grandparents bed after that...

  • ohh that was pretty freaky.. except the music whenn u see the dead family is crackup

  • Gaahhh... this actor is such a creepier step father! And I couldn't help but laugh at the title of the new one. He's not even really a step father in the new one. He's just the mom's boyfriend. XDD

  • @PartOnSlurms can you post the ending credits where the instrumental plays?

  • jjj

  • I remember as a kid, this scared the shit out of me. The remake was definitely watered down.

  • One minture (O'Quinn) he is a messy Richard Dyrfess then a shower, haircut and beard shave later. He's transformed into Bill O'Reilly.

  • SO much more gory then the new one I just watched. XP

  • this is the original much betta then the 2009 make!

  • He's so crazy, and he even whistles a toon while going out the door...*creepy* saw the remake this is definelty scarier...

  • John from LOST xD funny to see him young :D

  • OMG!!! That is TEN TIMES CREEPIER than the remake. Scary Sh!t man.

  • Amazing how he did such a perfect job cutting his own hair. Then again, this isn't the first time he's had to trade in his family and start over.

  • IT'S JOHN LOCKE!

  • I wish I was that good at cutting my own hair!

  • i love this movie, one of the best late 80's horror movies

  • this is by far one of the best movies made in the 80s and terry o'quinn is a very good actor i like him.

  • Terry O' Quinn looking at himself in the mirror with blood on his face

    "Don't tell me what I can't do..."

  • Perfect depiction of a sociopath. Terry O'Quinn gets a 10/10.

  • same exact thing as new movie

  • I think this is a great movie but I also think the re-make was very good.

  • Great scene loved the movie. It would have been creepier with just the whistling sound minus the music.

  • i have to be positive that he's setting sale towards the island in that last shot .

where else would he go ?

  • have you seen the 2009 version? and what do you think about it?

I saw it 2 days ago and i really love it... one of the best movies i saw (with "the univited", "Saw", "Note on a scandal", "One hour Photo" etc...)

  • wait...doesen't he leave like a billion fingerprints all over the house??? that is so F*cked up i wanna see the 2009 version! XD

  • you need to die very painfully and slowly.

  • Lol these damn spammers are annoyinggg

  • JOHN LOCKE

  • just thinkin:letsay ur a murderer a monster of a person then do you still get scared of other people?r u scared ur gonna get murdered ?not get caught ,just get murdered?

  • ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i would never watch this my bro just told me bout this movie it looks sooooooo freeky

  • OMFG. Its John Locke from "LOST"

  • john list

  • that is so akward y does he want to kill people did someone want to kill him or something

  • awkward? Um... he's a psychopath......

  • freak

  • @spicegirls48

    hahaha awkward

  • John Loche rules

  • that girl has a nice ass

  • Yeah. I wanted to eat Terry's asshole. ALL up.

  • You and my wife

  • What a sick fuck.

    Stupid faggot.

  • I guess it's REALLY true that CRACK is a dangerous drug.

  • @gtz1975 That's correct, it is. So, don't you think it's time you gave up the shit, got off the street's, and get your life back in order, you loser.Your family is sick of your shit. So, if you don't like the fact that I am a fag, why don't you give me your address, and I'll come over, and you can do something about it, you little simpering CUNT.

  • omg now i wanna c diz movie....

i just saw da new one and it was okay, but dint like it dat much cuz da guy dint die.....

  • Please, can you try your absolute hardest to learn how to speak English?

  • hmm ill try but im not sure if ill be able to.....

  • I've never seen this one, but I saw the new one three times so far. I LOVE IT!

  • the new one kinda sucked IMO. nothing really happened, and all the "scary" parts were just the guy standing there, trying to look menacing.

  • This one looks pretty good, imaa watch it. But I LOVE the new one. Penn is sooooo....sexii, :).

  • You "love" the new one?!? What an idiot.

  • epic evil!

  • 5 *****'s 4 DEAD KIDS!

That's one thing you don't see enough of in movies nowadays...DEAD CHILDREN.

  • It adds that extra disturbing factor. Directors are just scared now. It's like they forget movies aren't (supposed to be) real.

  • @CharlieMansonJr you sound like a homo.

  • omg terry is so young in this flim

  • john locke, is THIS why you and helen broke up??

  • I like how this one is bloodier than the remake, but the remake really gives you that chill up your spine kind of feel, because he was creepier. The stepfather in the original was more of a wacko.

  • The original stepfather was creepy and a wacko. The new one is just a goofball.

  • HE JUST WANTED A HAPPY FAMILY

  • THE REMAKE WAS BADASS, actually i wasnt intending on seeing it but i had no other choice since they wouldnt let us into paranormal activity

  • i agree that the remake was pretty good but i still think they could have done a much better job with it. like they should have made it a prequel....where they get more into why the stepfather is the way he is and what his motive is.

but overall i liked the remake. never saw the original but i would like to. think they'll make a sequel to the remake? i think that would be cool :)

  • The remake was terrible. It never should of been made. Why in the hell would you want a sequel? Stick with the original.

  • THE REMAKE SUCKED ASS.

  • I like the remake opening....i like this one better but what happens is that i think it's christmas morning and everyone is dead..........

  • It's funny when even tho the whole family is slaughtered in the opening, Jerry Blake can't help but tidy up the kids' toy chest and adjust the phone.

  • I really hope that the remake does a better job with this opening. I'm sorry, but it's just banging you over the head with suspenseful music. It would have been much better had they just used happy go lucky music, and then turn crazy once we see the bodies. It would have been a lot more effective in my opinion.

  • The remake does a goodjob with that. Though, this one is alot more disturbing... I mean, the dead kids? Seriously... :(

  • yeah but in the remake its christmas mourning and he eats breakfast

  • I like this opening, but you have a good point. Not showing him covered in blood with a crazed look in his eyes would have helped too. Of course, I think the intended shock wasn't so much that he had killed someone, but rather who he killed.

  • i know the blood on his face gave it all away.

  • i Watched the original the other day and the original version looks way more intense well this part does at least

  • I didn't like this part. 3:20

  • It's all about the music.

  • I havent seen the original but I saw The version that came out yesterday and after watching this intro I think they did a pretty good job recreating this part.

  • how was the remake?

  • the remake was pretty good i saw it yesterday.

  • hey u! PLEASE tell me wats the secret in the basement! PLEASE! i live in greece and i dunno when the movie is coming here!!!

  • There are two secrets in the basement which one are you refering too.

  • both!!!

  • *****SPOILER ALERT*********

There is a cabinet he built in the basement where he keeps the belongings of the people he kills that they had when he kills them. Second: There's a freezer in the basement where he keeps dead bodies behind all of the ice cream and foods.

    Sorry for the spoilers.

  • The remake was crap.

  • I thought the re-make was very good.

  • Crazy movie, seen it a few times already. Nobody can beat Terry O'Quinn in this role. Btw, this is rated R, the new one is PG. Haven't seen it yet but we'll see.................

  • the new one is actual pg-13

  • you got to give dylan walsh props though he did di a good job in the new stepfhater

  • did you see the new one it came out yesterday and my friend said it was good

  • You one sick prevert dude, YUCK

  • eww his ass is so white

  • john lockes ass....sweet

  • what makes this movie even scarier is that it is so believable. I wonder how the remake will be especially since the main character is now a teenage boy

  • This movie was scary when I was a kid. It actually was the inspiration to me getting kick out of the house when I slapped my step pops.

  • its john locke!

  • I KNOW, crazy. :-)

  • and john locke's cock.

  • Thats what your mum said to

  • hahah the musics creeeppppyyy!

  • I wish he was my Dad.

  • With the beard and the hair he looks a lot like Robin Williams. But yeah, he sure does clean up well. Agreed!

  • whoa he cleans up good.

  • anyone who can whistle like that is creepy

  • This classic, underrated film is finally being released on DVD on October 13. Please skip the remake and rent/buy the original. It's a spooky film.

  • yay with JILL SCHOELEN!! miss her such a great actress. original movies always the best :)

  • Would someone please download the entire original movie,PLEASE! That way I don't have to pay $15 to see the orginal before they butcher it in the theatres. They've already changed the female protagonist to a boy (and probably added a bunch of slasher crap that doesn't need to be in there!). Anything for a buck.

  • Brilliant...

Btw how can he cut his rear hair so good??? lol...

  • It's Jacob.

  • i havnt seen this one but im going 2 go c the remake on the 16th!!!!!!!!!! im sooooooooooo excited!!!!!!!! LOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I hope we are going to see Dylan Walsh ass in the new movie? =D

  • yeah..no kidding or maybe more..hes so dreamy..LOL

  • I was saying the same thing. Lol

  • This was a very subtle and creepy scene. They show the bodies on the floor. I love this movie

  • Woo. 'S fucked up.

  • I never got a chance to see this movie, but I can tell that it's very good. : )

  • hey its Terry O Quinn Aka John Locke from Lost

  • i reealy wanna c the remake,,the one with penn badgley,

  • "bye Honey" woman: *dead*

  • It's an incredibly frightening movie. Terry O Quinn was brilliant in this...he's absolutely DISGUSTING...but in this genre I suppose that's the point.

  • Oh snap, did lost get their music from this movie as well as Locke lol

  • Even after watching all seasons of "Lost", I still look at Locke and think of him as the stepfather sometimes! poor me. lol

  • JOHN LOCKE!

  • Where can u find the ful lmovie?

  • this movie freaked me out when i was young. Still gives me the chills just watching it again. Thanks for posting.

  • This movie is a classic and yes, I agree, the opening is a great piece of moviemaking.

  • oh my god.... that was sick

  • SPOILER for those who haven't seen this. For me, the most disturbing part of this movie was when he killed the young girl's psychiatrist. Of course it was very implausible; a psychiatrist would not pretend to be someone else in order to find out about a patient's stepfather. And he quickly slips up so that The Stepfather knows he's not on the level. But the scene is so painful to watch and so is the young girl's reaction when told of his death "he was my friend!" So heartbreaking.

  • you are so right. I wanted to punch that dude in the face.

  • 2:54 ROFL ahh. xD

  • I can never whistle that tone again. Chills man, chills

  • I can't wait to see the new one, too :D

  • There is a new one coming out?!!? Who will be the lead actor? Terry O'Quinn is an AWESOME guy...I worked for AT&T/Cingular and he, his wife and son were my customers. I told him how much I loved his work on The Stepfather and he smiled and couldn't believe that I recalled this as a fav film, (everyone talks about his work on LOST). I asked what it was like to play such a psychotic, horrific character and he was so humble. He said that it was such fun & that he truly enjoyed doing the films.

  • It's awesome that you met Terry Quinn - where did you work? Baltimore?

  • What about his work in the movie Silver Bullet when he played the Sheriff, and literally got beaten to death by the priest/werewolf.

  • Dylan Walsh is playing the stepfather in the new movie. And the suspicious child is a grown man this time, so I'm getting a very different vibe from that one. I don't think it will be as creepy as this one.

  • that was amazing

  • Awesome opening. Sort of like the opening of "No Country For Old Men."

  • the remake isn't better then this one

  • good news everyone this movie is coming on dvd in october 13

  • it isnt already on dvd. i doubt that.

  • Does anyone know a similar movie where a little girl comes home and finds her dad murdered her mother, and he chases her? I remember it because he searches for girls with red jackets, and she kills him at the end with a two-by-four with nails in it.

  • This was based on a true event. The sequals were made up though.
