  • only bad thing about keeping an open mind is, it can suck you into believing anything... leaving you vulnerable and gullable to an actual important topic. It's whats being practice today... because anythings possible when u keep an open mind, even controlling another person into believing something that's not true.

  • How to keep open mind:

    - I think nothing surprises me anymore. Lots of weird, funny, new things in both good and bad ways come up on 1 news youtube channel I subscribed :P I think that's what keeps me open mind :D

I think everyone is different. I grew up different from most of my school friends and family members. Maybe that's how I can keep open mind and accept that everybody is different and that's not necessarily a bad thing. I believe everyone can be anyone they want, do whatever they want.

  • Limit on keeping an open mind:

    - I don't hate or judge people who do things that I don't agree or that I think is bad. It's their decisions and has nothing to do with me. But, personally, which things that I think good or bad/ acceptable or unacceptable for myself is the bible. I was raised catholic and became christian recently. And I personally have proved it to 1 huge life changing miracle n chance in my life that it's from God. And therefore I belief every single thing in the bible.

  • But once again, I don't judge people with different opinion and do things that maybe I strongly disagree. I treat people equally =)

PS: I'm a vegetarian too :) Lots of people have some weird theory / judge vegetarian people cos they never experienced that and they don't know how it feels like to be vegetarians. They just heard things from somewhere that may not be true either. Don't worry about people response. The most important thing is do whatever you wanna do and feels happy inside.

  • A nice quote says: "Do what you feel in your heart to be right - for you'll be criticised anyway. You'll be damned if you do and damned if you don't" - Eleanor Roosevelt. So, don't worry about everyone says, just try to ignoring them cos their opinions don't matter anyway.

  • Oh,it's you again.

  • How do I keep and open mind? I try to take the time to 'listen' to people stories. As a witness or observer, not a judge. I don't have to fix it. I don't have to make everything all better. I stand for something. But I pick my battles carefully. I ask myself "is this the hill I wish to die on?" lol. We need to be careful exchanging idea online for the absence of facial expression can feel hostile. We can lighten things up with emoticons and laughter. No Snarky Synics Allowed.

  • Maybe they think you are looking at them different now. But heck I bet you feel good. This video was very cool. Way to go on what you like. Always do for you what makes you feel good. God bless you and Max and your family.

  • You are good in eating no meat. Just get your pro-teens and vitamins and you are good. I don't know why some one snaps unless they think you are going to feel bad about them for eating meat. So it could be they are freaked out not that you are doing it.

  • People build themselves prisons & use wishful thinking to make the bars vanish. And when you point out the bars, or guard, or truly free people, that is rattling the cage and yes, you have a flight or fight reaction, usually fight.

The key is not to allow yourself to be captured by guilt but keep an attitude of being outside, looking in & walking away when you choose.

  • Wow. I can't imagine someone criticizing you for something like that. How petty. I'm sorry that something like that has happened to you. I can't give up my hambergers and chicken. But if someone chooses not to eat them, then I can't see having an issue with that. As long as they don't criticize me for my choices.

  • having an open mind,is the best way to experience as much of life that is out there. One can take in information, with an open mind, and then be able to decide whether to continue following what they have just discovered.

    Denied experience,denied fulfillment.

  • Always have to keep an open mind! Some people don't take the time to understand so they pre-judge.

    Good topic, Sean!

  • looking forward to your grocery haul :)

  • have a great week as well! :P

  • Interesting,

I became a vegetarian recently and few of my friends thought I got mad,so it means that they are narrow minded.

Hehe I can`t wait to show them this video

    Thank you MrHollick

  • I catch myself sliding away from my typical open minded nature at times. I'll get a wrong impression about someone and not give them a chance to find out who they really are beneath the shell. But luckily I have good friends around me to keep me grounded and make me see past it. It keeps positive and essentially that means that I am a happier person.

    Another great video Sean.

    :) Tish

  • For every one you lose in your life that is unsupportive, two or more will be attracted in your new circle of expanded enlightenment. Let them go. People are threatened of their own lack of growth and others who are seeking more fulfilment magnify their own weakness, take it as a compliment, Mr. Hollick and don't look back. Any step towards a healthier life is awesome. Too many folks talk but don't act. Kudos to you. Being vegan is very demanding, my daughter tried it for two weeks.

  • I live by the thought that i should treat others as i would like to be treated. Whatever choices others make in their lives is fine by me

    :-)

  • Whew, tough subject. You might be getting some anticipatory hostility. I know that , when I've met vegetarians, they tend to proselytize via an unprovoked attack on my eating choices and going into graphic detail on everything they thing is wrong with them. Many of the vegetarians I've met seem to have a chip on their shoulder towards anyone who isn't like them. When the subject comes up, I dread what's coming.

I'm not criticizing you for being Vegan. I love veggies.

    Lima Beans, FTW... :-)

  • (continued)

That didn't sound quite right. When I said "I love veggies", I meant that I love vegetables. I wasn't using veggies as a nickname for vegans. Sometimes when I shorten things for the character limit, something gets lost in translation.

    Have a great week :-)

  • Awesome Sean! You are right there are alot of people out there that don't have an open mind. Even me sometimes I admit but I am getting better at it. Thanks for sharing! 5/5

  • It's funny.... I'm on Atkins, and when I tell people what way of eating I'm using.... they think that I'm trying to take the bread away from them directly! Maybe when you tell people you are vegan, they think that you are trying to steal the burger from their own mouths. We all have to do what is best for ourself... and try to remember... we are all in it together.

  • Interesting video! I've wondered the same questions you asked about openmindedness. I always try to have an open mind but I catch myself closing down once in a while. It takes effort to maintain an open mind some times and in some cases I think it's just easier for people to close down rather than consider something different.

  • I always try to treat people how I would like to be treated. I am a lesbian so its challenging sometimes to have people respect me so I just try to avoid those people. I think you have the same issue as I do in a way. And you don't really need to tell people your vegan. If they ask, you can talk to them about it and answer their questions. But if they don't then don't mention it. That would be my advice. That is how I tell people I am a lesbian. I tell them if they ask.

  • Everybody is born into life with the freedom to choose, so more power to ya brother!!!!! if you slip up, I wanna know what it was :)

    Peace, ace77man

  • One who seeks a healthy reality, allows that hope leads the spirit, trust leads the heart, reason leads the mind, action leads the body while evidence draws the being...

  • It took a long time to convince people that the world isn't flat,

Falling off the edge of the world was once a major concern.

People can no longer feel solice in that , but at least Vegetarians can still be hated hahaha

  • Just an fyi, I dont have a problem with your new diet. IT was just a little joke when i said me love meat. Also some time's people abuse the term you don't have an open mind. If your opinion is different they will use it.

  • Oh I wasn't referring to your grunting that was fun lol :)

  • Everyone have a Great week!
