Discovery River Boats (Disney's Animal Kingdom) Pt. 1 of 2

The concept of this ride looks good, but you dont actually see anything that you wouldnt see just walking around the park. There are no hidden waterways or places you cant see on foot. Thats why they got rid of it. I would like to see a world of colour display on the River like Disneys California adventure

Actually there was going to be an area with dragons, unicorns, and other mythological creatures in Animal Kingdom but Disney decided not to make it because it would have been too much money. It would have been called Beastly Kingdom and it would have been where Camp Minnie Mickey is today. Thats what the dragon in the AK logo stands for. Disney is still deciding if they can add this place to AK.

wow, i never noticed the dragon...but then again i don't go to WDW often. anyways, i vote to bring Beastly Kingdom to life!! ..that sounds...magical ;)

I'm trying to find the supposed dragon in the video.... can't watch it though, the ride is very boring. I would use it as transport, sure, but wow....

I think I have pictures from this ride from when I was eight, but I could never remember what ride it was. I guess it was gone by the time we visited again. Thanks for the videos!

I remember this ride. I went on it in 1999. It's too bad they got rid of it. It was a fun ride.

Animal Kingdom had a park CD. I guess it must not be available anymore.

That CD is still available, you can get it most place as well as World of Disney in Downtown Disney.

Nothing is there today. It is just gone.

Most of the boats are not used anymore but they do use one of them to take the characters around the lagoon at different times during the day.

They stopped running the boats because of complaints. It was never meant to be a ride, just a form of transportation. People would wait in line hours and then were disappointed. It is a beautiful view from the lagoon and a shame that people aren't able to get that anymore.
