  • doesn't the W&W have a 2-6-0 similar to Strasburg 89 and Middletown and Hummelstown 91? is is #92?

  • i believe #98 was built by Alco (Schenectady) in 1909 for the Mississippi central, glad this 4-4-0 didn't meet the scrappers torch, #58 was built in 1907 by the Baldwin Locomotive works for the Atlanta, Birmingham & Atlantic railroad.

  • Nice! I'm looking at volunteering here, once I get my drivers license :)

  • @indie1361 Cool! I want to be a volunteer a on the Wilmington & Western too.

  • I am just posting my comment as YouTube invites. YouTube does not say, "Post a comment everyone will agree with !"

You don't have to like my comment & I have every right to post it!

Junk all the remaining steam locomotives!

  • The headlights at 0:03, 1:28, 2:24 & 3:06 make great targets for several well placed rifle rounds. 10,000 points for shooting out the big one in the center & 100,000 points for shooting out the little ones on the right & left side. 2,000 points for every window in the coaches shot through.

25,000 points for shooting out one of the birds at 4:32 & 125, 000 points for shooting out both birds!

This equipment should have been cut apart & melted 50 years ago!

    Junk all the steam locomotives!

  • @Cockroach2008 Dude seriously keep your god damn mouth shut! You are a no good fucking troll! We don't give a shit on what you think! Steam Locomotives rule and they could run your ass over! Fuck You!

  • In the begining, was that greenbank? I didn't see any part of the station there. But nice vid I loved it!

  • Excellent video! I am very partisan regarding my own 'region' of loco's and rolling stock [GWR] but I reckon I am falling in love with these beautiful loco's and that whistle!!! Just sends shivers down yer back!

  • very nice, enjoyed the video greatly

  • Is that 4-4-0 a Richmond? Because Richmond Locomotive Works was absorbed by Alco in the 1900's. Five stars. Love the 4-4-0 and whistle.

  • @TheTenwheeler No it was american locomotive works. If you go to there website you can find out.

  • What kind of whistle does #98 have and #

  • I really enjoyed this video. When I was a kid, my parents used to take me to the W&W. I not only remember the #98, but also the #92 and saddletank engine #3. Do you know where those engines are today?

  • 98 leads the train 92 need money so it can e rebult and #3 was sold to the queen annes rr it some where in lower delaware

  • is the 0-6-0 a pennsy engine? i was just wondering because it had that pennsy tender.

  • Pennsy tender? That's a standard sloped tender for a switch engine.

#58 is an ex-Atlanta, Birmingham and Atlantic Railroad engine

  • i know, i just always see them on pennsy switchers. sorry, i wasn't thinking when i posted the comment.

  • don't worry about it :) but yeah they are everywhere...search Baldwin Locomotive Works 26

  • thats a slope back tender. Not all slope backs were Pennsylvania rr.

  • such beauty!!!

    =)

  • I wish every railroad was still using steam engine.

  • I like the 4-4-0's whistle. It reminds me of the Valley RR mikado in connecticut.

I also like the 3 cabooses. Nice touch.

  • beautiful- 58 is the last AB&C steam locomotive in existence, and is still operating to boot .

  • Very good video about BIG double engine steam trains. Take a look ad my video, you will see small double engine steamtrains (trams).

  • Interesting doubleheader, 4-4-0 & 0-6-0! GREAT camera work! (Loved the "run-over" shot!). :D

  • Thats gutty to place a camera in front of the steamer to get that running over view! wow !

  • That's a large 4-4-0, must've been one of the later ones, our PDC 4-4-0 Old No.3 is 125 years old this year, and will running again next year, pdcrailway dot com

  • the double engines remind me of the story of the little red caboose.

  • First Class Video First class train ! Thanks

  • Absolutely beautiful!

  • Wonderful video, Joe! An absolute pleasure to watch. Both engines have beautiful whistles... I love hearing them echo through the forest. Again, great job!

  • No, in it is not a Pennsy 3 chime. It's actually a whistle off of an old factory, but is atleast a 3 chime. It does sound very similar to a PRR whistle.

  • Wow it does sound very similar...are you absolutely sure it's not a PRR 3-chime?

  • Yeah. It's not a PRR 3 chime. I'm 99% certain. ;)

It's a factory whistle. Not even a locomotive whistle at all.

  • @JoMiFu sounds like a boat whistle I've heard...

  • @dcoursey82 Its either a PRR or Lunkenheimer. Not many people made 3 chimes round top other than Powell, Lunkenheimer, and PRR...

  • i love the whistle on the 4-4-0!!!is that a pennsy 3 chime joe? it sounds alot like this whistle they used on the 7002 at strasburg.
