Spooks is sheer propaganda, they don't tell the truth about Mi5. There are agents who are involved in assassinations, then those who spy on the British Public usually political and religious groups/dissenters. Even the Quakers get spied upon. They are not harmless lovely duvvies Spooks wants you to believe. 1 in 6 people in the UK are spied upon by Mi5/6. Don't forget that.
