While I agree on the inspection, I don't see how you could realistically do it BEFORE the auction. I get the minumum bid amounts the day before the auction making it difficult to schedule an inspection unless you have a great relationship with your inspector. Most importantly, it's not legal to trespass on the property. You can't just break into a house the day before the auction and go romping around in the attic and crawlspace. Technically just peeking into the windows is trespassing.

That said, I'm more just interested in hearing how you are able to accomplish getting the inspection done prior to the auction as opposed to the "drive by evaluation".
