  • How do you play so fast? I can't do that. I can only play slower notes. I can circular breathe, but I don't know how to get the faster beats you're doing.

  • @jahchild1904 That's mostly all mouth and tounge work. Produce the different types of noises and only stop to circle air in when you have to.

  • see youtube.com/watch?v=KbjaGnwuW-0

  • cool...i really liked the didge with the gnarley bell on the end...what key was that?

also, why do they point them at the trees?

  • @Cre8iveSignWorks u can hear what ur doin much clearer if u have something solid to bounce the sound off... in this case a tree :D

  • @wigmiester

yeah i thought so (but wanted to check)

just jarted playing and realised it myself.

    but thanks

  • yeahh!!!!

  • Awesome job there !

  • yes renembers me de 90s techno fever

  • How DO U Keep Going?

  • @DJKSWISHA circular breathing, you blow out your mouth at the same time you breathe in your nose

  • very good, to relaxing

  • I started playing at the end of the spring (northern spring) I listened alot to this video.

they are great inspiration!!! best didge video!

  • agreed. im playing almost a year. this was one of the videos that got me started and i still listen to it reguarly !

  • este video es muy bueno,me gusta las variaciones y el montaje, yo estoy en ello a por el aire

  • I've been playing didg for about 6 months now, I can do everything except for the super fast bursts.. My didg is tuned to C so it's much lower than most of the ones on here... I'm wondering if I'm having trouble playing in quick bursts (ex. 1st clip, 2nd clip, last clip), because my didg takes so much breathe to keep the drone of a low C?

  • It's not so much the tone of the didge that matters, it's the amount of back pressure. I think lower pitched didges tend to have less back pressure and are therefore harder to play fast, but's that is not always the case.

  • I believe some didges prefer to be played fast and some prefer to be played fast.

  • exactly right.

  • yeah it depends on alot of factors like backpressure and thickness of the walls, etc.

  • i love this sound :D

  • Is the fast pace in the second clip simply damn fast tongue modulation or is there a technique for such a sound? I'm really struggling to find that and I'd appreciate if someone could help me.

  • The fast pace in the second clip is a result of fast bounce breathing ,not tongue modulation..... well, that's my take on it !!.. Try ivowa i ivowa i ivowa ivowa, with breaths on the "vowa"

  • i think the best is the guy starting at 5:43... his style is simple but his vocal technique is intense. his dingo calls are terrifying for sure.

  • i'm with you on that one. his vocals are gnarly!

  • muy bueno el video

  • lots of didj fellows

I hope someday will be that way in my town

    best wishes

    JP

  • I make my didgeridoo....its quite dificult...but u can buy it in online shops...

  • were do u get these...i must get one!!!

  • Theres plenty of places that sell them off the net. I bought mine from didjshop . com a few months ago and im really happy with it.

U could also check ur local music stores or for the cheaper option get some 1.5-2 inch wide PVC pipe and just put a beeswax mouthpiece on it. U can get beeswax in a lot of health stores !

  • damn you rule!!

  • One word. COOL!!!!

  • anyone have any ideas on how to build up some speed chops on the didge?

  • Lots of practice, and the tongue technique is called double or triple tonguing. If you have a hard time finding training for it, go take brass lessons from an instructor.

  • *****5 star right there.....

  • i was thinking about making one of these... how wide dose the pipe have to be? like a rough guess if anyone can help me out..

  • 1.5 - 2 inches is good.

  • Just bought a doo online, waiting to get it, anyone have any breathing tips for me? How do I learn to do the continious breathing? are there any exercises that can help me? In the simplest terms please. Thank you.

  • when you are about to run out of breath fill your mouth with air and pus it out through the didge with your tongue and cheeks, as you do this you can take in a breath through your nose and continue playing

  • doing what musicalfart said, you can try it thru a straw in some water first, it will help you get the feel for it a bit easier,

  • I watched alot of YouTube Videos. Now I can circle breathe and its been a week, and really try the water thing it helped me.

  • Where do I learn to play one of those? Or better yet, where can I buy one?

  • you can buy them on the net.

or you canmake one yourself. Depending where you live the materials you are going to need. PVC (plastic tubes) are a good option as well, but you will eed to know how to wax the mouth pece.

    :o) cheers!

  • Wow it's gonna take me sooo long to learn to play that well

    great job you guys.

  • Man thats fucking crazy good.

  • super!!!!!!

  • exelnte did,,

  • Pretty flockin stylish !!!! I can see a promising career in choreography for that caterpillar...

  • very very nice but dont u think not smoking would help you get better breath/ sound...

  • I can play decently, but I am still trying to master circle breathing and until that happens, i will never compare to people like this :)

  • i loved the mix of traditional sound with modern style. oh... and the dancing caterpillar was an enjoyable added bonus!!

  • I'll second that Pelhail, Those are definitely some truly Amazing players and a great video compilation of them for sure,

  • hello MsPtitsA the video was filmed at "grenoble" near the French alpes in France in the south east.

we are many didg player here...!!!!

  • haa !! wheres that ?

    cest ou ??

  • its better than beatboxin!!!

  • it's like beatboxin'

  • Cool, So do different lengths of the Didg produce different sounds and tones?

  • yes, how long it is and how wide it is (sometime material affects sound to) man , MY DIDG WAS A PEICE OF PVC THINGY, we burned it by mistake >>

  • Umm...wow...thanks for telling us venom

  • you play a lot.

  • I'm getting a didgeridoo

  • It kinda sounds like a juice harp...

  • odd, i've only heard it called a jews or jaws harp

  • What you're thinking of is a very small instrument that fits in your mouth that you pluck. This, as you can see, is blown through. Similar sound, but very different instrument!

  • Yes, you are right. I've never posted a comment on here before and was trying to reply to a specific comment earlier where somewhere compared the sound to a "Juice Harp". I'm aware of the difference of the two instruments as I play both! :)

  • Ah, that makes MUCH more sense; I was wondering how one could confuse the two, what with the video being RIGHT THERE. :)

  • I think it was originally called a "Jew's Harp", actually.

  • Well Adam, I believe that you are wrong, a Jew's Harp is a piece of metal that you press against your teeth and pull another piece of metal to make the twang sound, this is all about air movement.

  • I wasn't talking about the didgeridoo - I was responding to "Jethrot1982", who said that the sounds were similar, but called it a "Juice" harp.

  • Hi everybody, the right name (so without affending anyone) the name is Mouth Harp, I was told by a proffesional player of this little instrument. But it comes from all over the planet, so it has lots of different names. Made from different materials.

  • this is no mouth harp. a mouth harp also known as a jews harp is a small metal frame with a metal key that is held between the lips and uses the cavity of your mouth to resonate pitch while you flick the metal key.

the name of this is didgeridoo

  • very nice harmonics in the first segment

  • magnifik je suis absorbé !! chapo

  • very good

  • wow! congratulation!! i play de didjeridoo too but not like you!!! aahahahahahah

  • awesome!!!
