the rules are simple, you subscribe us and after we have 1000 subscribers we will start showing YOUR vids, to all our subscribers! doesnt matter what your videos are about, well promote them for you!
@Crazysoulrecords Yeahhhh... I had the video aggregated through a site that sends out the videos for me and it did this. Now that the future of music marketing has changed I'm making new videos for current stuff.
@bstbstbst2010 Maybe better music...but if you aren't wanting to get yourself out there so people hear your better music then you're just sticking to a hobbie
I'm impressed. You know what you're talking about. How do I know this? Because the things that I've done and you mentioned...have worked. The things I haven't done and you mentioned haven't worked...because I haven't done those things. Everything that has worked you said it in this video.........My 3 main influences are The Doors, Nirvana, Alice in Chains and thats why my project is called Via Her DNA. I've been able to relate to other people through this passion we share in musical taste. Thanks
thanx man big ups on the advise i was gonna get it copyrighted i wrote the lyrics, laced the vocals and the studio did the instrumentals.did i do 100% of the work? i feel like i did since i paid for my studio time am i right with this? please reply.tx
@damijoshua Studio did the instrumental. That would be a publishing thing you would want to look into. Bookstores have TONS of great books on music publishing that I would check out so you can get the most amount of money from your music.
What I like to do is keep the myspace band page simply for correspondence. That way when I put music out, people can go to my page and leave a message, and if they tell their friends about my music, then those people will have a few songs of mine to listen to, and if they like it and want to buy it, then that's the icing on the cake. Otherwise, it's very annoying when someone spams you with their music.
I really appreciated the video and made numerous mental connections with your strategies that I'm going to employ. I'm trying to get the youtube music page started right now and get it started the right way. Thanks man.
Check out "I KICKES SATAN's ASS!" on youTube. I was at the strip bar last Friday...Satan walked in for a beer...it got ugly....I beat him down...now I get chicks!
@andym516 You don't have to go back through to the people you've already added. More strategies to begin implementing. The problem with new ideas is people try to put them on past things. Don't focus on the past, just start doing things right coming forward.
Hey, that was great advice! Helped me alot! How do you get friends on myspace though? Friends who aren't already your personal friends... like new friends!
i been doing the wrong thing this whole time haha wow, i cant believe that's what's been holding me back. so i really do have good music but besides i cant make a good page, but also i havent been able to promote it, anyone help?
Dude im in a rock band and have been saying the same thing as you for over a year now. Everyone has it wrong and very few have it right. You said it brother. You know your shit. And for that I thank you.
heyy omg thankxx soo much ...i have asked other people for tips and its always the same.. i uploaded one of my songs on youtube only yesterday so im excited to get going so anyways...this is different advice and sounds good ... cheers x
if you close your eyes you sound like will smith :D but thx for the info, me and some buds have formed a band, and we are ready to start recording... so ill use your tips man, thenks
Hey Eric great video, its so refreshing to find someone telling musicians not to just send out emails begging people to go check out their page. I receive hundreds of requests a day not once has someone asked about ME or said something about what I'm doing and just been nice and friendly before giving me the hard sell. It just turns me off straight away.
Appreciate it! Its easy to get brought into the monotony of social media interactions and look for a "quick fix" truth is though that slow and steady breeds longevity.
I'm glad I ran into this video. I just started a myspace music page, and I got a bunch of friend adders and mass messaging softwares and went crazy with them. You're right about building genuine relationships with people. I'll give that a shot.
Thanks a lot man!
quick question: do you think it's a good idea to link people to my soundclick page which has a bunch of beats on it? Because I don't have a website as of yet. I'm hoping to make one from any earnings I get from my music. 1.
I agree. I myspace is just an online demo tape. I used to send mass message. It never worked. I only would get about 5 to 10 plays a day. But then I started actually talking to people and become "REAL" friends with people. I think Street Promotion is better than online. I also gave out free Mixtapes at open mics. I would always put my contact info on there. Now i get thousands of plays a day.
