  • the guy in the middle looks pretty badass, and the guy to the left is okay.. but those 2 behind look a bit gay

  • Румынские фашисты?

  • @fras989 скорее словенские шахтёры

  • In fact Laibach idea is to get shocked and then get their anti racist message trough. In fact they are peace loving pasifist. They are doing shock art and multimedia.

  • @ArmathSargon this supports my theory on them, they want you to fear and hate, but in reality they don't believe in all that crap

  • Looking at what is happening in Europe right now, it might have been a warning. I moved to UK two years ago - there are cities that are basically controlled by Muslims.

The "warning" could be especially true looking at Laibach being disgusted by totalitarian ideologies and Islam is a great example of such.

  • No! This is not EBM - THIS IS NSK! Neue Slovenische Kunst!

  • KOSOVO IS KOSOVO!

  • there are no nazi's it was a word make up by winston churchill and the british press

  • No mention of Cabaret Voltaire?

  • BARBARIANS ARE COMING!

  • "We are as much as fascists as Hitler was a painter." --Laibach in an interview when asked if they were fascists.

  • @hellrunaviolet So they wanted to be fascists, but failed to get into fascist college?

  • such subtle trolling and great music.

  • This track is more EBM but if you travel back in time it was more industrial...in a dramatic way.....i think its not to be labeld....Its just the Laibach sound....very ahead in those days!....and still...

  • Grrreat!

  • Yello? no Laibach!!

  • @LazicDejan

Congrats. Quite possible that this was the most stupid comments among many, many stupid comments.

  • @Teradach You do not understand, so fuck off

  • @LazicDejan Okay... beats me. There is so much wisdom in your words, i admit: I don't understand. So let's keep it like this: I fuck off and you try to pull your head out of your ass.

  • Sexy goddamit !!

  • BARBARIANS ARE COMING ....

... THEY'LL BURN DOWN YOUR CITIES AND YOUR DISNEYLANDS

That's what "they" will tell you ...

We're already here, and headed for Disneyland, and that's why "they" are so scared ;-)

    :-D

  • I use two genre's for what works OK for me:

    1- stuff I like

    2- stuff I don't like

Just for me, I interpret this as #2 "stuff I don't like".

Some people may like this, and good for you, but I prefer "musical" music.

This reminds me of background noise from manufacturing plants - like presses and machine tools, etc... Not relaxing or stimulating - just audio that works as a hostile takeover of my attention.

Being born in WWII - I've had enough "gotcha-boo" audio.

    Try Wagner or Enigma.

  • @q7winq7

...That's actually the point. Industrial and its various spinoffs are an artistic expression of frustration and progressive experimentation. Only a certain kind of people can appreciate industrial music on an aesthetic level... most simply can't.

Like with several things in life, you don't "listen" to industrial, you "experience" it. It's only for those of us who dance that line between genius and insanity on a daily basis... and revel in it. The rest of you? Just assaultive noise.

  • @KevLSanchez

I appreciate your point of view.

Sounds like a useful existentialist inversion.

I visit there on occasion myself.

"It's OK to let yourself go, as long as you can get yourself back." Mick Jagger

  • @q7winq7

    "Try Wagner or Enigma."

Do you really think if Wagner were alive today he WOULDN'T be making music like this ?

    How odd ! :-/

  • @bluesman979

Yes I think he would not. Based on the website of his quotes he would probably prefer construction to destruction as a form of urban renewal. For example this: "Joy is not in things; it is in us."

    Richard Wagner - - -

Based on what I see that you wrote below: "...THEY'LL BURN DOWN YOUR CITIES..." That leaves me to wonder if your vision of joy is through destruction. I get it that you like Laibach - will you 50 years from now? Just saying - chaos can become tedious, eventually.

  • @q7winq7

"That leaves me to wonder if your vision of joy is through destruction SNIP... will you 50 years from now? Just saying - chaos can become tedious, eventually."

I think you've made a few too many assumptions ;-)

With well over 50 years already well under my belt I don't think I've got another 50 in me

If I was into destructive nihilism as you assert, would I have been involved in MAKING music for over 30 years ?

Ride of the Valkyries, joyful ?

    I beg to differ ;-)

    CONT.

  • @bluesman979

    OK.

So - what is your vision of joy?

    "Making music" doesn't explain anything.

What affect do you wish to evoke with your music, and what "kind" of music is it, and is it working for you?

  • @q7winq7

"What affect do you wish to evoke with your music, and what "kind" of music is it, and is it working for you?"

Firstly, this ISN'T my music (Laibach are from Slovenia IIRC) ;-)

Some of my music is on my channel I played all the instruments on Stacey's "Glorybox" cover and I am a member of JetA Project, to name but two

I am an audio engineer so I am exposed to EVERY possible genre (and sub-genre) almost daily

My personal tastes in music are very varied from all genres

    Cont.

  • @q7winq7

... From traditional folk songs through to house

Some of the artists I listen to (latest played files)

Eek-A-Mouse, AC-CD, Taj Mahal, Adrian Legg, Gotan Project, Armin van Buuren, Lisa Hannigan, Habib Koité, Beth Rowely, Primal Scream, Billie Holiday, Metallica, Adele, Mary Black, Colourbox, Radiohead, Damien Rice, The Jam, Bob Marley, NIN, Kings of Leon, Tom Waits, Capt Beefheart, Zappa, Bjork, Residents, Led Zep, Dr Feelgood, Aphex Twin, Mahler, Leftfield, Eric Clapton, REM...

  • @q7winq7

As you can see its varied (to say the least) I left off all the music I listen to as reference pieces etc ;-)

    HTH ;-)

  • @q7winq7

"Based on what I see that you wrote below: '...THEY'LL BURN DOWN YOUR CITIES...'"

I didnt write the words, simply quoted them (they are part of the lyric ;-) )

Do you remember the papers saying that Black Sabbath were evil? Or Bill Grundy's suggestion that the Sex Pistols were the end of civilisation?

I do, and they were completely wrong ;-)

LOL The ONLY thing *you* got right is I like Laibach (but I did I tick "I like this") so don't give up the day job just yet Sherlock ;-)

  • What genre is this? I can't seem to label it, gothic rock techno??? All I know is I love the male vocalist, the haunting dark music, the beat, pretty much everything :)

  • @gmj2012 It's industrial, EBM and a few other genres.

  • @gono8 What's EBM? Electronic bass music??? Eleven beats a minute? I'm guessing the former not the latter :)

  • @gmj2012 EBM stands for Electronic Body Music. Well, I don't know what it exactly is, though Laibach contains more then only the EBM-genre.

  • @gono8 Is that similar to fidget trance/techno? Electronica usually covers that whole subset I thought? Never heard it called EBM before, but there are a hell of a lot more genres of music now than there ever used to be, so who knows, I certainly haven't heard of them ALL. Thanks for the response, now I know.

  • @gono8 it all started with the belgian band front 242 using the technology off 80's keyboard's a new musicgenre was born yippie also look at nitzerr ebb, frontline assembly

  • @gohan11223344

Have you ever heard of Throbbing Gristle or SPK... Think 1970s. Front Line Assembly was second wave.

  • @briantraylor offcourse i know spk one off my favorite bands the agony off the plasma is just incredible, throbbing gristle i dont but will check it out, iff you're still into industrial you should look into einsturzende neubauten the early stuff is the best songs like steh auf berlin and tanz debil, i saw them twice i my country (belgium) one off the best gigs i saw

  • @gono8 it all started with the belgian band front 242 using the technology off 80's keyboard's a new musicgenre was born yippie also look at nitzerr ebb, frontline assembly, leather strip, der prager handgriff all very yummie enjoy lads

  • @gmj2012 Actually, from a strictly musical view, '11 beats per minute' is interesting & might raise a few eyebrows...

  • @kevinnowhow LOL! It would be a hell of a LOT slower too, as if nothing was playing every 9 seconds or so (my math is bad, lol).

  • @gmj2012 :):)

  • Comment removed

  • @gmj2012 industrial metal I think.

  • @gmj2012

nope, it`s country genre elevator music for classification fetishists

  • @gmj2012 also Neoism.

  • @gmj2012 IT can also be described as martial industrial because of the very militaristic sound it has, although that really fits their older stuff better than their more recent releases.

  • @gmj2012 Industrial, Neue Deutsche Härte.

    =)

  • @gmj2012 I cant label it...I can't label it...label it....label it...laibach...

  • @gmj2012 electro dark wave

  • @gmj2012 The band is an art project that use the medium of pop music in means of communication. They are not goth, industrial or whatever; they are Laibach. Much of their inspiration comes from the german/english graphic artist named John Heartfield, who used the graphical equivalent of what in a context of music is called "sampling".

  • @gmj2012 It is INDUSTRIAL ZOUK pure product of the ungodly alliance of Slovenia and Guadeloupe.....fruit of the forbidden love between Milan Fras and Francky Vincent...

  • WHEN THEY SEARCH FOR THEIR SPACE,

    THEY'LL TURN INTO SNAKES,

  • good tune.. indeed.

  • @nutiumatei

without "Laibach" would "Rammstein" not give

  • I love this song.

  • Now You...

  • Heavy shit.

  • The true power of the trade Laibach

  • This is one of the best songs I've ever heard. The vocals, the rythm and the message. It's just perfect!.

    Cheers from Argentina!

  • Laibach are totes nazis.

  • the barbarians are the fucking damed ''jews''!!!!

  • @MegaZyklonB I'll just say this to all the neo-Nazis who post here and talk about how awesome Laibach is: they are making fun of you to your faces. The fact that you fail to realize this is further evidence of how mindless you are. You know, aside from your sad obsession with a failed, racist ideology that you fetishize so that you have a sense of belonging and order in the existential nightmare that is your lives. Get help.

  • @TheMackinawPeaches

    Ты сраный турок!

  • @TheMackinawPeaches your pretty dumb.

  • @TheMackinawPeaches I hold race nationalist views and I'm entirely fine with Laibach having a differing and more naive ideology. ;Shrug.; Ad hom enough in that comment yeah?

  • @MegaXowen Thanks for making me laugh out loud, a racist nationalist calling Laibach politically naive is the funniest thing I've heard all week! Good luck with your shitty ideology, though.

  • @TheMackinawPeaches Er, I think you just proved you avoid actual discussion by obscuring the truth (using race as a criterion isn't racism, racism is an emotional response, not a standard), and shooting your mouth off with ad hom.

  • @TheMackinawPeaches FINALLY!!! Someone pays attention. These guys are as Nazi as Elie Weisel.

  • @AlgeaDeLupa bad example, Elie Wiesel is a perfect Nazionist!

  • @MegaZyklonB You are a delightful wonderland of unintended irony.

  • "they burn down the cities, your disneyland"

    trying to survive i presume

  • Awesome, root of Post-Industrial EBM, Dream-industrial, aggro-industrial, Electro-Industrial!

  • Well, always thought this was about the general crappy integration of immigrants in Europe leading to all kinds of friction

  • What album is this from?

  • @memoriesofhpl The Album is called "WAT"

  • @gono8, to be precise, "W.A.T.", because it's an abbreviation.

  • @321ooo123 okay, I just used to spell it like it was on the CD-Cover, and there it was WAT ;) but W.A.T. is also logical, of course. We are time.

  • i like the sound!!!! not much the voice

  • Predates KMFDM by about 10 years, too.

  • nice hats :)

  • Honestly, since they are a very political slovenian band, they might be talking about the Serbians..everything the lyrics are saying (besides the Disneyland part which could be a symbol for fun and happiness) are true when Yugoslavia ruled...that's what I think the song means anyway.

  • @hotpinkcroathottie02 I think you can be right, Slovenian culture is very xenophobic and many think themselves to be higher then the balkans. It's strange since Yugoslavia used to be very openminded regarding ethnicity.

  • @hotpinkcroathottie02 It's higly unlikely you're correct there, it's rather a comment on the fearmongering going on in many western media about who ever is the "Barbarian of the moment" we "have to be afraid of" (right now it's Muslims, before that it was Soviets...).

  • the point is that you (the listener) superimpose meaning on the song via ones own political and NATIONAL bias.. from my POV the song is ironic because "they" are a product of our crimes

    "now you will pay"

  • Yes, it is possible :) Funny, isn't it?

Time will show us who was right.

  • We should prepare ourselves to fight with islam. ''They'll burn down your cities... and your disneylands!''

    It's my interpretation.

Even if you don't agree with me, you must approve that Laibach is great ;)

Sorry for bad english. Greetings from Poland.

  • I think it's more important to fight disneyland and our cities. Just to be very subversive.

  • You do realize that this song is about people like you, right? The theme of the song is fear: fear of those different from you, fear of those that you are taught to regard as 'barbarians' by popular sentiment. The song is meant to reflect the latent, irrational fear in first world countries of those on the 'outside', who we are so sure are bent on nothing but our destruction. They are going to 'destroy our Disneylands', a blatant symbol of the materialistic first world ideals we hold so dear.

  • @TheMackinawPeaches Thank you for your input. It is nice to see some sanity, especially as it is so rare *smile*

  • @TheMackinawPeaches

    You explained it perfectly.

Laibach appearance and music provokes, but only to make one think(unlike the umbrella ella ella e e e songs, for example....).

What Laibach is trying to say is don't belive everything you hear on FOX.

But, If this song is played somewhere in middle east, central asia, or any muslim(arab)country in that part of the globe-then it becomes correct and unambiguous. "Hi-tech"Barbarians are coming,to take the oil.FOX will cover the whole thing - LIVE.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheMackinawPeaches I agree... Being from "the east" means being less worthy than those in "the west". The relationship between the two is and has been always nonchalant. It is important to UNDERSTAND Laibach, not just to listen :)

  • is Disneyland really worth to fight for?....I think Islam is more noble than Disneyland (I am not Muslim and i critic many aspects of Islam).

I think europeans have better cultures to be proud of than the one of Walt Disney

  • @groslucas It's called metaphor. It's meant to represent materialism in the west and Americanization

  • This is the song that got me into industrial music. Thanks for uploading.

  • ...I'm sorry but Laiback =/= KMFDM...or Columbine for that matter.

  • w/e i hear this song i think columbine.

  • what the fuck do barbarians have to do with columbine you dipshit

  • Do a youtube search for KMFDM. They're a german band that sounds kind of like Laibach. If you like Laibach you'll probably like KMFDM. :)

  • hell yeah, I searched for this band, and it's great! Thank you! =)

  • We are not searching fot the sound of Laibach, but the message of Laibach

  • now they do... agreed.

  • except of a few songs... well, one xD

  • @qaesyan :

What!!! Kmfdm sounds like anything but Laibach. Try Nitzer Ebb, Skinny Puppy or Ministry instead. Laibach heritage could be heard in bands such Rammstein or Deathstars.

  • sounds like KMFDM

  • what is KMFDM?

  • A fantastic band.

  • Hell, yeah!Barbarians are HERE,thanks to New Labour...The UK welcomes vermin from the East...We will give you free money, houses, cars, and citizenship...

  • awesome:)

  • so glad i moved from there.

  • @Dreddloxx

While you and your family sit on your asses 4 generations back living on a dole, because work is boring.
