  • Óriási párosítás! Ránki félelmetes technikával és zeneiséggel, Kocsis szokásosan zseniális, a zenekar is nagyszerű, na és a mű...

  • ...you want to compare this to the Hungarian-double-teamed, too, Anda-Fricsay job...note nice mops on top of both guys here...in Bartok, having a mop on top of you helps...

  • Electrifying! A very exciting interpretation. The closing flourish always manages to lift my spirits.

  • I met these two fine gentlemen years ago in Budapest. Aside from Liszt and Bartok themselves they are the 2 finest pianists Hungary has ever produced!

  • Brilliant, dynamic, stylish, exciting playing! Marvelous!

  • God bless you for posting!! One of my deepest favorite works for over 35 years. A great performance! (but then, they're Hungarians!)

  • Awesome performance

  • This second piano concert and the first are the best. Full of expressionism and drama. The third one, which is more known, is rubbish.

  • I'm a big fan of Bartok and I have the duty of be empathic with him. Bartok wrote his last concert with leukemia over him, a very lack of money, etc. He planned to hand down this concert to his wife Ditta for live of presentations of that work. This concerto was wrote for the American taste (de tal época), because that reason.

Anywhere, The third piano concerto is beautiful : D

    Excuse my poor english.

  • I like the third too. (There is an excellent recording with Ránki - Hungarian Philharmonic/Ferencsik).

I am so sorry he died too early. His style changed that days.

  • I don't totally agree with you, though I do like the first and second better, myself. Why is the first never played, I wonder???

This is quite a fine performance of the second though. I like his interpretation of the 3rd movement the most.

  • amazing! That's all I have to say. Respect!

  • There will be a 2nd movement too. But it takes time.

  • thank you sooooo much!

never heard the bartok concerto played that way. wow

  • It was the best performance of this piece!

    Thanks for it!!!!

  • No, the best performance is by Zoltán Kocsis himself (Phillips).
