  • Thanks for clarifying. I've experienced similar. Currently attending seminary and owe $. My situation could have been handled differently also since I've attended two years and always paid in full. Could have been more compassionate & understanding but experience has taught that not everyone who calls themselves Christians are. So we deal with it. Hope the clerk at your school was not representative of the entire school body. She definitely is not representative of Christ. Stay strong!

  • How was the clerk representative of Jesus?

  • @miccidee The clerk was representing the college which claimed to be founded by the Lord as a "beacon to the world" on how to live for Christ. If someone is going to claim something as lofty as that, they better be ready to back it up, and Asbury College didn't back it up. It was not being turned down for a modest extension as much as it was the attitude of "why should we care about your problems" that the clerk's office exuded.

  • Your beer looks like the pear juice my hubby is currently drinking.

    Sorry for the aside...

    I'll listen now.

  • Ha, many public universities will cut students slack all the way through the semester before dis-enrolling them. Guess such slackness has no place in a Christian institution.

  • Oh yes baby!! This place is totally infested with weslyans. And they are exactly as you describe! I was unfamiliar with the *theology* of this cult as I have never been able to get past the institutionalized smugness and draconian rules. Interesting.Tell us more.
