@TheDavie1688 God Bless Liverpool and FUCK the RANGERS manki mob!!FAT,THICK AND UGLY!!!..Rangers Supporter=fat gut, thick as shite, secterian biggot, fake gold chain and yer women are 99.9% fat n fucking ugly!!!
Mancunians/united fans follow Celtic because Leeds fans & scousers support Rangers. United & Celtic always had respect for one another..that built after our ex captain, Roy Keane, went to Celtic & his testimonial match at Old Trafford
@shervinjb Strange logic behind supporting terrorist loving scum. I noticed you had a Shelbourne flag up so that explains where you are really coming from. Most Manc's I know hate the Celtic scum as well so I fail to see where this mutual respect thing exists, apart from in your deluded fenian mind.
@shervinjb I know plenty of Celtic fans who support Liverpool. If you walk into Bairds bar in the Gallowgate and look straight above youl see a big Liverpool flag and if you walk in their with a hun top on yer not coming out the same way as you went in so to speak.
I am a Celtic supporter but love Manchester United and thier style of play.Hope you win the Champions League and bring the trophy back to Old Trafford.
I agree that you can only support one team. However I also think you can respect and admire other teams like Manchester United.I personally think United are brilliant to watch
whats going on with all this my city is more irish than yours?????
i would like to know how 3/4 of scousers originated in ireland that is physically impossible.i know 46%of liverpool is catholic but that many irish,no chance.kilburn in london maybe.
ive sent u some links showin the RFB exists. Its not much coz there wasnt much about it on the web, obviously not as well-known or as big as Larkins, but goes some way to proving it exists. It wouldn't let me put the links on ere btw.
Yeah same ere. They ave some great Irish bands on @ the pubs in town O'shea's n Waxy O'Connors n then the more traditional stuff in Levenshulme. U shud go the St.Paddys festival in Manchester its amazin honestly. Ive been to an Irish-American bar in Liverpool town centre it was a good laugh.
Lol theres also a book called 'The Wearing of the Green; A political history of the Irish in Manchester' which tells of the IRA & Irish nationalist politicians from Manchester. And there is also a Republican Flute band in Manchester called the Vol Joe O'Connor Republican Flute band. Quite amazin really how 2 english cities can have so much irish influence.
Thats debateable really. Manchester had an Irish Republican terrorist group operating in the city in the 1850-1860's known as the Manchester Martyrs so it goes to show how long the Irish have been present in Manchester. And Im pretty sure they were present years before that at the start of the 1800's!!
As was Manchester. During the Industrial Revolution the city and the ship canal was built with the aid of many Irish immigrants, so I don't think any city can claim to be more Irish than the other. At the end of the day Liverpool and Manchester are two English cities both with a rich Irish heritage. Infact in the UK census 2001 3.77% of mancunians claimed to be irish where as only 1.2% of liverpudlians claimed to be irish. And the UK city with the biggest Irish community historically is London.
O aye get this a sensible debate btween a manc n a scouser!Am not used to this lol.I hear a lot of scousers sayin that about L'pool being unique, obviously u must be slightly biased being from L'pool, as i am being a manc, but Manchesters irish routes cant be much smaller than l'pools. We also boast the biggest St.paddys day festival in europe & an irish world heritage centre in cheetham hill opened by bertie ahern. despite this we wudnt turn r backs on england where as it looks as tho u have
Jus to add to that Everton are traditionally the Catholic club in L'pool. Just as United are the Catholic club in Manc, almost being named Manchester Celtic. Look up your history mate both Manchester and Man United, even Man City to a certain extent, have routes with Celtic and Ireland it isn't exclusive to L'pool. The Gallagher brothers are also big Celtic fans. MUFC were also the 1st English side to fly the tri-colour. Despite that we dont deny we're Engish, whereas u ave sum serious issues m8
around 40% of mancunians have irish ancestry. FACT as opposed to ur 3/4 guestimate of scousers been irish! Famous Irish Mancs- Liam & Noel Gallagher (& other founding members of Oasis),Morrissey,Terry Christian,Caroline Aherne(Royle Family),The famous 'Irish' song Dirty Old Town was written about Salford by Ewan MacColl(of Irish ancestry),
-The Ancoats area of Manc was known as Little Ireland due to the amount of Irish immigrants there.Youre right Manchester has fuck all to do with Ireland.
95% of united "fans" have never been to the old toilet. and let's be honest even sir alex said that playing there is as quiet "as a funeral".
and united for sure were not the "only club to fly the tricolor" some liverpool fans still DO.
ill give you this...chelsea are the phoniest fans in the world with there stupid flags that they bought for 20 pounds right before the game...but where is the tradition in manchester??? probably at man city stadium ;)
united flew the tri colour in England in the late 70 only English club to do so Irish people take note of who backs them and i am a Blackburn fan by the way
you make a fair point but i would also add that the reason most people outside the islands of ireland and britain follow united is because they are winning.they have been for a relatively short time.most united fans remember the barren years and it is a big part of our history that Irish and Irish descent people across these islands followed United for their shared history.the glaziers and united PLC want to write that out of the history books but we'll remember always.
Yes, I also became a United follower at the time when United dominated English football. But I did not leave the team for Chelsea when they seemed to develope into the new dominant English team, my support for MU became even stronger. So first I supported United because it was winning, but then I became a loyal fan. And we, United fans outside Britain have a new kind of identity. We have nothing to do with Ireland. We support ENGLAND after our own country(in my case it is Hungary).
footballs all about tradition.not about supporting a team because they win all the time. How you can support a team and then ignore those traditions that set them apart in the first place is beyond me.i dont mind or care that you follow england not ireland but you say that celtic fans are IRA supporters.following this logic are you a fascist or supporter of loyalist murder gangs in the 6 counties because you like rangers?keep the generalisations to yourself please.
Ia am an evangelical protestant, a supporter of Man Utd. and Rangers! Celtic fans are IRA supporters. Anyway I don't care United has been considered a catholic team, I love United for Ryan, Scholesie, Cantona etc., not for any religious or political reason. And it is the same for most MU fans around the world. You know, most United fans outside England don't know about the catholic roots at all..
man united and celtic.brothers in arms!the link goes back years.theres been 3 different cetic man united fanzines and i no english and scots(irish) teams have played each other so much with no history of crowd trouble either.long may it last...
