  • Why are Emergency services is america so rubbish. they are given advanced driving courses that can last up to 2 years over here. in america they seem to be worst drivers than the criminals escaping and such.

  • great reporting there girl.. keep up the good work .. try to put more video in and less slide show.. but over all.. awesome reporting.. it looks like news reporting is your thing kid.. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

  • Completely off-point. But, that little girl is adorable!

"Let's go see what happened....oooooh..They got hurt, really bad"

"This man fell off his bike."

  • sum body wants to be a new reporter... she did a good job

  • really, emergency vehicles dont need to go that fast. they might get there a little earlier, but its not worth the risk... its ok though about that car... only a $300 car... but at least the $3,000 rims were ok..

  • I have no idea of the age of the little girl "reporting" the accident, but I'd like to encourage her to study hard in school, especially in English class. We need good journalists desperately in this country and your enthusiasm, along with a good education can put you at the front of the line to be a top-rank reporter. Good luck!

  • @cwn420...you act th' part of a foolish, sad, mentally blind and flat-noted, ragged fellow, who blabbers to fire-hydrants on street-corners. It is 2011! For the sake of Christ and this nation; Give it up! ...Ennyways. Nice reporting-work, young lady. An' th' jazz said, "New York City" not 2-seconds from the thumb-nail for me... ...how'd I know?! ...Jazz knows th' heart...

  • oh great! a slideshow on a video site!

  • ok first off firetrucks have full right of way so there fore the fire department cannot be sued for hitting anyone

  • @vampyboy94 It would sure be nice if that was the case, but it's not.

  • @alco424 it is in texas and i took for granted it was a national thing for emergency vehicles

  • @vampyboy94

It is true that firetrucks have the right of way, but doesnt mean they are not liable for driving wrecklessly. Firetrucks must slow down at all intersections with a red light. I remember someone in NYC sued the fire dept. and won because the firetruck ran through the red light without slowing down. Sometimes, drivers are already in the intersection and have no idea where the truck is headed or coming from. Sorry, ur wrong about being sued, they are liable if driven wrecklessly

  • @ASiggeris ok i that instance then yes the firetruck was in the wrongn

  • was every 1 alright and people please when you here us coming slow down pull over you never know if could be you we are coming to save. Volunteer firefighter

  • a lot of people get into an accident with a firetruck even when they're at fault they immediately yell lawsuit and the goddamn office jockeys at fdny headquarters are pussies and don't even listen to what the cew reports and say here's your money

  • good thing FDNY has it's own wreckers....

  • @joemakin94 Keepin it clean!

  • clearly a case of the radio so loud they couldnt here the siren BOOM BOOM BOOM

  • I always pull over for emergency vehicles unless they are on the other side of a center divider (local law). I also change lanes to the left if they are on the right side of the freeway.

  • as a firefighter and driver ... I don't care where you go or how you do it ...... just clear me a path. Put down the cell phone, stop your texting and always be on the lookout for flashing lights because you may not always hear us coming. Pretty easy and it could be you we come to help so you wouldn't want any delays right?

  • LOL, fuck the hosemonkeys stats must be low...they're are making there own patients!!!!!

  • @SuperHamiltor .....asshole!

  • and does the right of way mean that a fire truck can plow through cars that dont give it to them? or do u guys have to slow down untill they give it 2 u

  • @tsharpmac420

It's probably going to fast, that it doesn't have time to stop. If they hit the breaks, they would still crash into the car.

  • @yomamasofat1000 not true ive been in many firetrucks going to a fire and one time a guy pulled out in front of us and the driver of the fire truck slamed the brakes and he stoped really fast in time not to hit the car

  • how much does a fully loaded truck like this one weigh

  • @tsharpmac420 about 65,000 pounds with 3000g water & equip.

  • @BCFSXCYYJ2010 not many trucks carry 3000 gallons of water. unless its a tanker, most dont carry over 1000

  • f it

  • Probably didn't hear the siren cause he had his system up too loud.

  • @GBFireBoy heres a little piece of advice those big red things with lights and sirens those are called fire trucks and in an emergency situation they have the right of way regardless of what you think. maybe if you were paying attention while you were driving you wouldnt keep almost getting hit now would you?

  • @GBFireBoy little piece of advice those big red things with flashing red lights and sirens yeah those are fire trucks and regardless to what you think they have the right of way in an emergency situation if youd pay attention a little more when youre driving you wouldnt keep almost getting hit now would you?

  • @GBFireBoy fire or no fire idiot.. the reason they are called is because it is an emergency situation that requires them to be the re quickly and efficiently, that goes for every department, there is no such thing and a NON-emergency fire department. so regardless of the call, if there are rolling code 2 or 3 pull over, its common sense, clearly you haven't been in the fire service long enough to know what the responsibility of the 3 EMS services are.... Enough said :/

  • @GBFireBoy Well I'm a volnteer and i dont' think I'm special and i cant' say i know many that think that. We want to help people and to do that we need to get there quick. If it was your ass bleeding to death inside a car on a "medical call" then i think you would want us to get there pretty quick huh? Almost hit you? That's why we run lights and sirens and your supposed to YEILD we have people that need help fast and we can't get there when your fat, selfish ass is in the way.

  • If you see emergency service personnel going to the scene of an incident or at the scene of an incident, just stay away! Seconds count and the last thing emergency responders need is people standing in the way!

  • out of all the emergancy services, fire departments are the most disregarded. weather it be a truck engine or pov no one cares about it.

  • There is nothing in the world more important, it seems, than whatever somebody else is doing at the moment when a fire truck is coming up behind them.

  • NOTE~!!!!!!! IF YOU SEE A BIG TRUcK WITH FLASHING,AND ROTATING LIGHTS, PULL OF THE ROAD!!!!!!

  • Simple solution, you know that big red twenty ton thing with light and sirens, try to stay out of the way, its alot heavier and has a two foot steel bumper, instead of your fibergalss one, this should be a lesson to everyone who ignore a fire truck.

  • that's a good little reporter :P

  • She's obviously too young to understand the seriousness of what she's filming, but excellent work for a nine-year-old. Way to go.

  • wuz that a little monkey

  • NIGGERS!!! RUUUN

  • come on people, these guys / galls aren't just driving round for the hell of it, they are trying to help someone.

If you hear sirens of see emergency lights just safely get out of the way, and worry about why they were rushing later.

Lets all think about someone else for a change, too many people are quick to criticise nowadays.

  • Who gives their 9 Year Old Daughter a Phone and Takes her To an Accident Scene...Good Job America...

  • cool.

  • The problem, and we encounter it every where, because I'm in the midwest and deal with the same shit, is that no one pays attention to anyone but themselves. They are so oblivious to the world around them, that it's a bother if a firetruck or an ambulance is coming through. But God forbid if it was their family member, you're never there quick enough and you always made a mistake. It's a terrible double standard that this country has come to hold too close to their hearts.

  • @chenzo123321 im in iowa myself, i totally hear that. lights sirens dont mean crap now. think we need brush guards on our trucks..

  • wild wild west

  • What's that song on that video?

  • Comment removed

  • Fucking chimps and their rims, probably high on crack.

  • @Cakerolled And i guess they were heading home from KFC?

  • If your vehicle hits, or is hit by an emergency vehicle, YOU ARE WRONG.

  • ahhhhhhhhhhhhh pauve tit peach

  • what happened

  • @skateskool100 niggers

    thats what happened

  • "oh red lights, siren, and a horn, I think I'll cut him off!"

  • CELL PHONES HARD AT WORK AGAIN!!! HANG UP NEXT TIME!!

  • did anyone die?

  • Very simple rule of thumb.....it could be YOUR loved one we're on our way to help. Would you want people to delay us?

  • @slash78332 If you were an experienced fire fighter you would know that your own safety is number one. How can you help the 911 caller if you cant even make it safely to the incident yourself? 80% of calls are medical and a majority of though's calls will not be effected by a 10 sec delay do to slowing down in an intersection. Very simple rule of thumb.....it could be YOUR loved one that gets run over or even killed ( which happens ) while you race to a scene. Think about it

  • @slash78332 thats what i tell my girlfriend all the time,

  • The law in washington state has doubled the fine for ignoring law inforcement vehicles to an unbelieveable, insane, inconcieveable, obserd, crazy...$242.00. You could be delaying the response of a crew that could save be on their way to save a life and even if indirectly, you could be responsible for the death of another human being because you refuse to move youre hummer off to the side. And for this, $200.00 later, youre off scott free...triple the fine!

  • how much for the rims ?

  • think of a firetruck like a small train once it gets up to speed it take a wile to stop so ether you risk dieing and or loos all the money you have invested in you're car or you get the hell out of the way its that simple.

  • i agree my dad is a firefighter and i have witnessed some acasions where ppl wil b driving and nt pull over when the lights r flashing. and for the ppl that do not please realize it makes the firefighters mad and w u pulling over it can save a house or a person

  • I meet a lot of idiots in traffic everyday, looking forward to seeing the even worse idiots when I become a paramedic.

  • I was hit by a firetruck that did not stop or slow down while going through an intersection with a redlight. The intersection is small and all corners are filled with buildings. You cannot see around the corners. The firetruck was at fault and i was put out of work for a year, received nothing for my vehicle or injuries.

  • @fbmowner funny enough, they can get away with that

  • Well it figures! They are fucking black!

  • Firemen need to get the cracker crumbs out of their teeth before they go tearing down the road. These things wouldn't happen if they would pay more attention.

  • @BufirdMauhaney So if you had a emergency, you would rather us go slow and behind everyone else?.. If we stopped and let every asshole out there that's in a hurry pull out in front of us then do 30 mph.. Yeah sure let you, or one of your family members die, let your house burn up, That's fine with me.. Then you'd be bitching and complaining.. "What took yall so long?'.. If you're not a firefighter, not a driver, you don't know the training we go through to drive the trucks.

  • When idiots doesn't yield to a truck, and be stupid and causes an accident with a truck.. what ever call that truck was running to, now has one less truck and crew.. You just took that truck, and that crew out of service, then another truck has to come in and take care of the injured people and fire crew (if any) and that takes another truck and another crew off a call.. Just go ahead and yield and don't be stupid.

  • @xlxjus10xlx Problem is a lot of people don't know what yield means. Thus they don't pull over and stop or give right og way to emergency vehicles.

  • haha freaking stupid fier truck!!

  • @jamesttripp Yes the fire truck is the one that's stupid, yet you're the one who mispelled fire truck.

  • @jamesttripp i know i mispelled it i was not thinking and was too tired

  • @jamesttripp the fire truck is stupid you can't evan spell fire you spell it fier

  • @lissadeushane

    "Evan"?

    Don't you mean "Even"?

Now that is the kettle calling the pot black if I ever seen it.

  • There is a fine line between getting to the response scene in a timely manner to save lives and being dangerous in getting there.

Sadly the public on the roads cannot be trusted to stay out of the way

While traffic light technology helps, the real best approach here is to create public awareness of these situations. While there are speed rules for emergency vehicles it really becomes a matter of weighing risks. If we are operating as efficiently as possible these crashes will continue.

  • is that the bronx zoo lol

  • a note to all civilians big red, yellow, blue, pink, what ever be it's color if you see a fire truck coming please slow down and pay attention to which direction we are headed in.

  • @canterburyfiredept BRAVO !! Well said.Something that I have been bitching about for years.Nice to see someone echoing my statements

  • Stupid people this days... They need to stop listening to iPod's while driving

  • hey i live close by

  • i know me engine company almost flattened a ford the other day!

  • Good Day,

In Ontario it is an offence to not to immediately pull over (if it is possible) when any emergency vehicle is coming, to give path...

One risks a fine not to,...and hey, it makes sense!!!

Who knows,....they could be going to put out a fire at your house!

I think the girl did a good job, and I like the music. It fits well.

A good message, thanks for posting!

  • Brooklyn?

  • @stevefromPA2 New York Fire Department!!! F.D.N.Y !!!! Look at the fire truck righting

  • Well look at who was involved..they probably don't have branes to know that THEY are supposed to yield ... hell they figure everyone needs to yield to them!....Now the city is paying through the nose because I am sure these folks got a good lawyer! whning loosers!

  • people are stupid sometimes.when they see flashing lights they r suppost to move out of the way.

  • Wow...

  • Guys like us who ride in fire apparatus, drive fire apparatus, need a cop around all the time. I can sit on the Q and the air horn all day and nobody moves......

  • A fully equipped Fire truck can weigh over 40,000 pounds. The average car weighs about 2000 pounds, or SUV up to 5000 pounds. Therefore the truck in this video weighed nearly 10 times that of the SUV. As a truck driver I have to slow down an empty tractor trailer, from highway speed to a full stop starting about a third of a mile before I get to the intersection. An empty tractor trailer can weigh as much as 35-40 thousand pounds. Keep that in mind when you hear sirens coming your way.

  • they need to stop rushing through every crossing thinking everyone noticed the red truck.

  • We are extremely cautious at intersections, but not matter how careful we are we can't avoid all dumb asses who think like you. What's the problem? Is the truck not big enough or red enough? Not enough lights or sirens not loud enough??? LMAO. Turn in your keys please.

  • Akia, you make a good newscaster.

  • Its unfortunate that accidents do happen involving emergency vehicles. The one thing I cannot stress enough to people is to pay attention while you are driving and check your mirrors often. A 30,000 pound truck or more - cannot stop on a dime. This is why there are laws that say pull to the right and STOP not continue at a slow rate of speed. Stop means STOP. NO, matter how many lanes of traffic there is. These laws are written for a reason. Safety for civilians.

  • Hey! I had the green light!

  • @ForkliftJoe dont matter who has the green light. if an emergency vehicle has the lights and sirens on while moving, they have the right of way, and civilians are required to yield by law.

  • AWARENESS - IT IS A GIFT THAT FEW POSSESS

  • Childrensfuture - you want a clean comment? You want clean comments I take it?? I tell you what ............ you want it clean ........... then don't show video clips of accidents

because your video is far from a violent episode that wouldn't entertain ( rather shouldn't entertain ) any bombastic comments. Since you want clean comments you abscond from many seeing the ebbed nature of the many buffons and imbeciles on line preaching their cowardly ways on the Internet.

  • people in nyc dont know how to drive anyways thus a good example of that

  • @firefighter1075 You must drive the fire truck or EV expecting someone not to hear the siren or see the lights in time.

You must give the civilians opportunity to yield.

Remember, they are traveling through their GREEN signal not expecting an EV to suddenly appear.

  • sometimes drivers have loud music and cant hear the sirens

  • people need to watch and turn the cd player down

  • gee, look where it was, explains alot

  • A future reporter :)

  • God bless that little kid / reporter/ camera person/ producer.. with no advertisers

and to young to be swayed by special interest ,(other than 31 flavers ice cream) It's probably the most honest, and complete, (american new's) broadcast i will see all year..

  • go akiah! see you on cbs someday.

  • There was a horrible crash similar here in W.P.B. fla, where a car hit a firetruck head on. People need to pay attention to what they are doing.

  • when you see 19 tons of metal with sirens and light get out of the way is that hard to understand.

  • @dva511 Look who your dealing with!

  • Brutha's looking for a payday?

  • I took one look at that SUVs rims and knew exactly whose fault it was. People who spend hundreds or thousands of dollars to 'pimp out' their vehicles generally have no regard for their safety or anyone Else's when they drive them he probably had soulja boy turned up so loud he couldn't hear the fire truck until it hit him.

  • @aaronsbarker this is why fire trucks q sirens like 3 times before crossing the intersections. when rushing to save people its their job. the driver also slows down while passing the intersection. its got to be the other cars fault. look at his car compared to the damage of the firetruck. pimped cards = stupidity. no saftey guranteed and most of the time loud music or girls in their car screaming.

  • @Gevvyiihto

Couldn't have said it better myself.

  • @Gevvyiihto

You read my mind.... sad but true.

  • It unfortunate that this happens but its not always the fault of the emergency vehicle. Im a certified firefighter/emt-b. The media crucifies the emergency vehicle when sometimes it isn't their fault. The media is not judge/jury and executioner. We are at fault some times and the other driver is too!

  • Soap......Is that clean enough for you !

  • good reporting

  • um, the flashing lights are there so that they CAN indeed go through red lights. that's the point. loud sirens and lights that let people know they need to stop moving and move aside.

  • good reporter

  • People need to quit ignoring the big truck with flashing lights that weighs more than twice there car.

  • agreed....

  • @Childrensfuture alot more than twice

  • @Childrensfuture Weighs more than 10 times what their cars weigh!..lol

  • @Childrensfuture di the people in the car bash into the back of the truck and did they al pass away

  • @MLDRMB happens a lot in Canada, Torinto, Ontairio

they see a firetruck but they dont let the fire trak pass

  • @MLDRMB Thats a 10-4

  • @MLDRMB amen

  • @MLDRMB um they probs way more than 3 or 4 times the car

  • @MLDRMB I'm not an MPO just yet but, they taught us in firefighter I & II that we dont have the right of way when we are going lights and sirens. We are asking for the right of way. I don't know the whole story but, the MPO also is responsible for making sure that he or she can safely make it through an intersection. like i said i dont know the whole story but u have to put some of the blame towards the MPO.

  • @MLDRMB agreed

  • @MLDRMB Guarantee the idiot didn't hear the truck because he had 4 15" subs pounding away.

  • @MLDRMB totally

  • @MLDRMB more than 10 times even!

  • @MLDRMB twice? LOL that truck is about 10x heavier! the engine is probaly the same weight of the entire truck lol

  • @MLDRMB Well there are contributing factors, if you've got screaming kids in the car and your windows are rolled up, accidents do happen. The other day an ambulance almost rear ended me and he didn't have his sirens on. We had heavy snowfall so I couldn't see the dumb fuck until he was right behind me.

  • @MLDRMB Try more like weighing 10 to 20 times more than their car!

  • @MLDRMB It's amazing how many people don't stop and seem to think that they're always right. We had someone confront us asking why we sped past them and why we were honking our horn, while we informed them it was an emergency. >.> (on a firetruck)

  • @MLDRMB Agreed...

  • soap and water

  • I have responded to many of calls Code 3 and civilians would not believe how many people will pull out in front of Rescue vehicles. I have avoided many a collisions due to people's ignorance and lack of paying attention. Motorists are in too much of a hurry to get where they're headed that most have tunnel vision to only their destination and nothing else around them. Lady pulled out in front of me 2 nights ago, i had right of way with lights on to boot. People need to pay ATTENTION

  • I agree, people do need to pay attention. I am happy there are drivers like you doing this job.

  • yup i have nearly wrecked our engine as well we had the green light and some truck decided to run the red light and i barely missed hitting him this was about a week ago

  • I drive code 4 why do you drive code 3 ?

I think that could be your problem, arithmetic !

  • @SuperJerkyBoys ,

I don't know how it is in your neck of the woods, but in VT you're talking three levels of "code" for Law Enforcement; basic breakdown, Code 1- unimportant-handle during shift, code 2- Hurry up, no lights/siren neccessary, Code 3- Drop that donut and get there ten minutes ago

  • @whtownejr shit i couldnt agree with u more, runnin Code 3 to acall and ass holes dont get outta ur way like wow maybe when your house is on fire, now woulkd like to pull in front of my fire truck like that now, no didnt think so haha

  • I've never had an accident, BUT, ya it's unbelievable!! I love the one's who pull over on the gravel shoulder but don't slow down or stop then stick there hand out the window and wave me by. Are you kidding me??? If you're that dumb do you think I'm going to pass you??

  • @whtownejr as a firefighter you NEVER have the right of way, those lights and sirens are on the truck asking permission them to pull over not demanding, you always drive with dueregard, i understand the frustration as ive been in a rig with an ignorant basterd in front of us, but you have to remember.. youre in a big heavy vehicle that dosent stop so fast, you have to be carefull, slow down and look.. wahts the point of rushing if u never get there?

  • @Dale767 well, actually it is a law that you MUST yield right of way to ANY emergency vehicle using visible lights, and audible siren. So start looking up your rules of the road before you go telling people off.

  • @Fireexplorer3499 youre right, it is against the law not to yield. but that dosent mean that a frie truck has the right to fly past a car, you are STILL driving with due regard. im well aware of the rules, and lastley i wasnt telling anyone off, i was informing. so why dont you stop trolling on firefighter videos because you have nothing to do you ignorant fuck

  • @Fireexplorer3499

You're still required to stop at every intersection where you don't have right of way and make sure it's clear before proceeding....

  • @whtownejr man you're twice as big as them, just run their asses over, they'll learn soon enough

  • your talkin about this like some physics shit, look here i was in a wreck goingto a fire alarm where a vehicle rolled our truck it is not the drivers fault people need to pay more attention keep there music down when on the road and maybe just maybe they could hear the sirens, color blind or not you know when there is a fire truck or ambulance coming when you see one, cause i am! stop taking up for the driver that was in the suv, people like them is what makes getting to calls dangerous!

  • F . D . N . Y .

  • Deaf and color blind people are allowed to drive.

Deaf are excellent drivers because they compensate by increased visual awareness.

Color blindness does not even matter.

You can discern signals by light position.

Also, blue is added to green signal lens to help those with red/green color blindness.

As an EV driver insrructor, I teach that you must ensure that everyone has noticed the EV. Many will not hear the siren until too late.

Others are looking elswhere or vision blocked.

  • The EV driver is at fault for proceeding out in front of the semi, not giving the semi opportunity to stop.

The woman may not have heard the siren, or was looking for the EV to then figure out what to do.

Most drivers are very good and try to help.

But they may not hear a siren or discover from where the EV is approaching before the EV is very close.

I have hours of my own dashcam videos of such.

  • lol footage with video. like pictures with stills haha
