Hi, looks like a (late 60's?) PAZ1 'compact'. I've recently aquired an almost identical engine only mine has the full size fuel tank. What speed is your engine rated at? Mine's 2hp @ 1250rpm. I'm still repairing my tank and cleaning out the fuel system so haven't had it running yet. Good luck with yours, one day these small Petter/Lister etc... diesels will become collectable.
No, mine is a compact - no 1/2 speed output shaft, but it does have the std tank. This configuration was fitted to certain cement mixers where height wasn't an issue.
I am going to strip this engine down and replace the big end bearing because I can shake the conrod up and down by about 4mm also I need to try and find a cowling as the current one is mangled and very damaged:(
on the governor where it joins the engine you will see a bolt which is 11 mm if you turn it clockwise it will move the governor rod closer to the rack you turn it when it is running untill it controls thespeed i know i recently aquired one and had to figure it out
Nice engine, I think you need to adjust/fix the governor and check the timing. make sure injector is clean as well, then it would run and sound sweet.
I know the governor system works (now) as I managed to work out after a long time that the spring on the governor rod needs to be connected to the governor arm. So the governor system works now. I think the timing might be slightly retarded which explains the blue smoke. Finally i'm not sure about the injector but when it is cold started, the engine speeds up then slows down through lack of fuel then speeds up again as the governor speeds it up. It always does this then it calmsdown after time.
I see, I am not an expert on these engines so i cant suggest exactly what to do but it is a good idea to get an owners manual and/or repair manual. Keeping these engines are good fun and good practice, good luck and good job
omg i have the exact same engine it is masive i love so much i some times take it into my bed room with me :)

yours is the standard version if is has a larger tank. I'm not sure what speed it is as it doesn't have a name plate.

you should upload a video of its first startup when you get it running.

Hello Where do you pick up spare parts if you need any for one of these engines ?
