Anyway there are two things about this hit. If you look at it, there was no helmet to helmet contact. Mays led with his shoulder pad any helmet contact was incidental.

Two, this is what anyone has played defense before 2005 or 2006 was taught to do. This rule is relatively new and was made to make football kinder and gentler. But football is a violent game and things like this happen.

The hit wasn't meant to be dirty. Taylor Mays usually hits with his shoulders and may accidentally make contact with his helmet once in awhile. That's what happened in this situation. The play happened so fast that it's hard to control this.
